Personally I drive very carefully in on bad roads. If my dispatcher screams cause the load is a bit late and refuses to understand the need for safety then I document the situation and sue the dispatcher for harassment and for recklessly endangering me. I also refer him for criminal charges and forcing a driver to operate unsafely is a major felony.

heres what I do...It works for me Im alive and well........DONT be Barry Badass....if you feel unsafe stop...Irregardless what anyone says..I MEAN ANYONE.You only have 1 life.

If I can see dark tire paths on a snowy highway...its generally 30 to 45 mph......If its snow covered or packed..Truck gets parked..No if's and's or but's about it. Trucks dont stop like cars do

Thanks for the videos truckertwotimes. Question; in snow, does you dispatcher give you extra time to either slow down or stop for safety in snow or other dangerous weather (icing, flooding etc.)? I heard stories about dispatchers making drivers work over 11 hours driving a day through all kinds of weather.

Drivnin in snow aint so bad with a good heavy load, its the ice that will screw you. Drove in Baltimore/ DC area for three years hauling liquid milk, and never had a problem in a good snow.

man i'm no truck driver but drivering in the snow with my dad who drove 4 penn tank lines 4 about 20+years but ill say its always good to hear a Driver gets to go home and see his family Driver be safe man i lost a older Family Member from a Snow Blinding Strom there was a turn and he didnt see the turn and went off the cliff and and droped about 100Foot and had about 40+tons on and the load crushed the cab. driver be safe man. take care hope to see more videos of ya driveing soon and safe.

Not bad but I can remember hauling class A powder thru montana during the winter and you couldn't even see the road so you picked a spot in the middle of the flat and counted your blessings that you made it thru. Had to keep going for in thoes days the schedul is what mattered. and the bosses didn't care what the weather was, you had to average 50 mph 24 hours a day no matter what when driving. I'm counting my blessing for I made it to 1,877,968 accident free miles before retiring.

A good 12v fan is vital to keeping a clear windshield. I like to run the heater hotter than I want, and open windows a little to regulate, blowing the hot air on the windshield. it will keep the ice from forming, letting the wipers keep working. Sure beats that fun moment when the wipers freeze to the glass or it glazes over and your hanging out the window beating it off with a tire stick. some places get cold enough the damn fuel nozzle freezes tothe tank.
