  • I love your videos, Regards from MEXICO :)

  • Alice in Wonderland in the background hehe :)

  • Can you do a Katy Perry hair tutorial?

  • @MARXA123 I'm not sure what that means? She has a lot of hair styles but most of them are based on the past. So I probably have already done something similar to what you are referring to...

  • @MARXA123 I don't mean to sound rude to you, but that woman (if you can even call her that) does not deserve to be mentioned here.

  • whats the song in this vid??

  • @0176sarah69 It's called 'My Little Baby'...not sure who it's by, right off. ROse Maddox maybe?

  • It seems that no matter what I do when I brush after curling I litterally brush all the curl out. My hair just goes flat. Do you know what I could do to prevent this?

  • @bluekittycat2 I would say this means the hair has been rolled or curled incorrectly. Wet set curls should not 'disappear', no mtter how much you brush. Some of our favorite styles of the silver screen were obtained after literally an hour of brushing. Examine my 'how I roll' tutorial and my 'pin curl' tutorials and try again...

  • fantastic. this was so helpful!

  • you look so gorgeous!

  • I am very impressed with your videos you do such a great job getting all these vintage inspired looks:) and i didn't know about that hair trick. Thanks for sharing that.

By the way I love your hair with the middy haircut and Bettie Bangs<3 looks great:)

  • It's dark indeed! But I love it :). thank you for the tip x

  • when i do this with pin curls instead aiming them flat on my head if i aim them down would i get the same look?

  • @StefieBam yes, see my pageboy video for an example...

  • Hi, I was wondering what your favorite types of curls were...pincurls, rag curls, sponge curls, hot sticks? I loved "you brush the heck out of that baby" :D

  • @MissSovietBones For certain styles, Pin Curls work the best. But I really love foam (sponge) rollers. They always give me a long-lasting curl!

  • Oh my goodness!

    Thank you so much,

    i would always get stuck

once i saw all that frizz

    ;p

  • love ur hair color n where can i get hot sticks ?? i use have them but over yrs i think threw away :( thanxx

  • Thank you! Very very helpful!

  • Cool lady!! and you're doing it in a funny way too!keep on doing it!!!Bye bye from Belgium-Antwerp!!

  • What's that song called? I need 2 know

  • @dll0990 There is an annotation, as I stated. It is 'My Little Baby' by Rose Maddox. Is there a particular reason why you couldnt just check the annotations?? I've noticed that you ask in this manner on several of my videos and the song titles are all noted. :)

  • What's the Song called?

  • @dll0990 please check annotations...sometimes this means you have to watch the whole video again to catch it. If you like the song, I'm sure you won't mind. :)

  • wats the name of dis song?? in ur video

  • @vmota04 Please see annotations...I believe the song title appears after the intro around the 5 minute mark.

  • wow! i did not know that.... :D pretty cool..thanx

  • What if I don't have that brush?

Could I use any other brush?

  • kuuute

  • ur hairs so pretty!

and what dye did you use on ur hair????

  • OM freaking G!!! This brush out technique really works and works well! I always wondered why my pin curls were extra frizzy and what I could do about it. Thanks so much. Saved me tons on extra hair products.

  • Absolutely gorgeous. I love this era, where women took the time to look very feminine. I am subscribing, thats it I am hooked.

  • what is that song called?!?!!?!

  • @Luz215ily check for annotations...I usually include an annotation at the beginning of the song or thereabouts. :)

  • work it GUURRRLLL!!!!!

haha i really do like this

im tryin to start makin my hair look a lot nicer

but its short so sometimes i have trouble making it look as nice as i want it to

  • awesome! I actually love your hair color. What is it? I've been looking for a deep red color for so long.

  • LUVIT!

alice in wonderland teaparty on in the back ground!:)

  • you're so awesome. i love your conviction about brushing the pincurls :)

  • Oh man. Brushing out a cold set is a nightmare!! I use foam rollers, not pin curls, because of the volume of my hair and its still a major brushing out process. But in the end it always looks better and more vintage than anything else. And on the plus side, you don't have to wash it for a few days if you dont want to and it still looks great!

  • damn, you look so wonderful!

i let my bangs grow in the moment,

so that i can roll it into faux bangs.

your bangs are cutten, right? looks perfect! <3

  • i did a pinup photoshoot for my self portrait at school and i used your tutorials for my hair. thanks a lot, youre absolutely gorgeous!

  • bit dark? looks gorgeous!!!! LOVE IT!

  • OMG your pretty and you seem really dedicated to this chick :]

  • -gasp- what happened to the video response the video said would be posted to the bangs for this hairstyle?

  • This is actually a vid response to the more popular video, you will see the link under the video player. It is the Bettie Page faux bang tutorial. :)

  • Love it! Thanks

  • cute!cute!cute! f * the haters!

  • No haters here...:) Not so far, anyway.

  • Your awesome.

  • kinda too dark to appreciate the hair do

  • Others seem to appreciate it, so that makes me feel good. Especially since I do my best with what lighting I have.

  • so your tips in this video seemed easy enough to use, so I tryed them just in time to go out for my sisters 21st b-day night out. I was scared at first because it started to frizz, but keapt going, and it came out amazing! I got that wavy veronica lake style from my hair being so long. we were seated in the vintage movie star section of the resturant, and my whole family was amazed on how much my hair looked like all the stars on the wall! thanks for this video, im no longer afraid of the BRUSH!

  • Yay! I love these types of comments! So happy for you...:)

  • Lovelovelove how your hair looks in this tutorial - like Dorthy's slippers! ;)

  • This is so cute and sooo simple thanks so much for your great videos!

Where did u get ur headband?

  • Believe it or not, this came from the Gap! A few seasons ago. I like it because it isnt just a cheap wide headband w/ a scarf glued to it. The scarf is actually wrapped around a narrow headband and then another layer is placed over the top to lend it that 'blousy' look. Very unique, I thought.

  • Thank you so much! I feel like a real heel asking you about "Bettie" bangs just before watching this video!

Bettie is looking down on you proudly for the beauty you are spreading 'round the world :o) THANK YOU

    Jen

  • I love this look, I did it the other day and it was so easy!

  • thanks for this! Really good video.

  • Well it looks fab! Thanks, made me check out your pin-up girl makeup tut too! :)

  • I love your makeup in this video, have you done a tutorial on how you do it? Love the hair too of course, and very useful about the brushing out tips, I'll be using them in future! Thanks :)

  • It's just standard pin up girl makeup but I used slightly different colors.

  • thannks :}

  • Wow, you really remind me of Claudette Colbert in this great video, before you use the hairband. This is a very good hint that I couldn't imagine about!

5 stars, as usual. I would like to give you 10 stars

  • Thanks for your videos - I am sure it is a lot of work for no money, so thanks for your efforts. I appreciate it!

  • Nah, it's fun for me! But thanks so much and I appreciate your subscription! xxoo

  • I am so glad you showed in detail how to brush out a vintage set because I tried it and my hair looks so much better! Thank you so much!

  • Oh how I wish you could get better lighting! Your hair looks almost like a solid black shape, I wanna see details! And your beautiful red haircolor... Could you not get like a "daylightlamp" or something?

  • Would you like to buy it for me? haha. No, better lighting is not in the budget currently. I purchased an inexpensive desk lamp which seems to work well for lighting the face but doesnt illuminate the hair very well. So I guess I'll be moving back into my bathroom. Thanks!

  • I've seen some youtubers use some kind of daylight-lightbulbs or something, not an entirely new lamp... Doesn't seem that expensive, but then again I really don't know, maybe they are ;)

  • Don't think your colours too dark. It is gorgeous!!!

  • I fades significantly after about three washes.

  • Hehe.

  • I love your videos but have to say your hair is soooo much nicer blonde. Im a blonde and dyed my hair red and i thought it was lovely, then when i dyed it back red everyone told me my hair wasnt as nice red. i wish they had told me.. so thats why im telling you :)

  • Actually, in person I look older with blonde hair. Plus, it's very expensive to keep. Most people think it was a good choice to leave the platinum blonde behind, for me. :)

  • I've bought the Lauren Rennells Vintage Hairstyling book-between her book and your tutorials I feel 100% better about the way I look just from doing things RIGHT!!! Thank you a 1000 times Lady!!

    xxxxxxxxx

  • What kind of bristles does the brush have? Is it the plastic stuff.. or more of the boar bristles?

  • plastic.

  • Oooh, I'm debating on bangs, your are too cute!

  • It's 'Sin Noir' from Julie Hewett cosmetics...I'm wearing it in my 'Pearl Harbor' Red Lips review. :)

  • Can you make a tutorial to make a perfect bang like your's??? I'm jealous...^^

  • I have a video called 'How to cut a Betty Bang' and I show how I curl them in my George Petty Inspired video that I filmed immediately after. :)

  • Nice tutorial, I knew this but It is always great to see how you do it.

What is the song played in your video,

    I loved it

  • That's My Little Baby by ROse Maddox. I'll add an annotation...

  • Yay! Now I have an easier style to do when I know I'll be in a hurry. Your hair color is very pretty by the way. :)

  • That is such a great hair color!

  • What is a good basic cut and length to have for all these retro styles?

  • Just below the shoulders will allow you to do about everything. :)

  • This is fantastic--without your assurance, I totally would have given up the first time I did a pincurl set and saw all that frizz. Also, thanks for a tutorial with bangs!

  • Very cute toots, now I'm anxious to know what you'll be reviewing:) Did you trim your bangs again, or just curl them up higher? either way they really do suit you. Oh yeah, I'm gonna put up my first vid soon, just a makeup slide show. But still, I'm kinda excited!

  • I'm excited too! Woot Woot! I cut them last Friday. THey were way too long in the last vid, I thought. Reminded me of the Eighties Dorothy Hammil...ack ack.

  • what song is this ??? at 5:35

  • My Little Baby-Rose Maddox

  • I can hardly wait for my hair to grow out long enough to try some of these styles and am just on the cusp of dyeing it red. You inspire me so much! :)

  • Also, strange Fight Club style blip at 1:02...

  • I cannot wait to dye my hair red again...really annoying because I'm on accutane at the moment and can't dye my hair for another 6 months to a year.

    FRUSTRATING!!!!

  • like the hair colour! got the same.

  • Beautiful! Thanks for the tips, really helpful.

Do you mind telling us what exact color hair dye you use (if you do use it)? I'd love to get that color for my own hair. :)

  • Yes, I use Medium Auburn from Loreal Preference. That's what I use for my permanant color but I only do that every 8 weeks or so. To keep my color BRIGHT between colorings, I use a mixture of Manic Panic Pillarbox Red and Infra Red. See my Manic Panic videos for more info.

  • I love the colour of your hair- it's gorgeous! I miss my Bettie bangs

  • You can always do the Faux Bettie Bang I have in one of my videos. :)

  • This was so simple, but it still looks gorgeous! I think I'm gonna try this tomorrow :) And you look lovely as always. I'm jealous, you seem to suit everything haha.

  • I love this! The style was so simple!

  • Lisa thanks for this video, I'm finding the more of your videos I watch, the more I learn and realize, the less I knew all along!

I guess it goes against what they say...old dogs CAN learn new tricks ;-)

  • Such a sweet thing to say! But what I learn is from research as well...and by no means is it the only way to do things. :) Don't want you to think I'm 'laying down the law' with the stuff. haha

  • i love yr hair color, what color is it?

  • I just reapplied my Loreal Preference in Medium Auburn this morning. In two months, I'll do it again. I keep it red between colorings with Manic Panic.

  • Thanks for this. I was always afraid I would brush out the set, cause my hair has natural curl that tends to frizz...I will keep going, though.

  • Also, naturally curly hair may need the addition of a few more products during the setting time. Try different things formulated for curly hair and coat the hand with pomade while you are brushing it out. :)

  • Loved this look and it looks easy! However I have long hair and it won't work on me =(

  • Why not? How long is your hair?? Mine is actually quite a lot shorter than the girl in the drawing. :)

  • Oh I love it!!!! And thank you for the brushing out explanation again. I'm always afraid I'm going to brush the curl out since I have fine hair that barely holds curl, anyway. That covered headband is so cute! It looks like a scarf!

  • I swear, you're the coolest! Brushing my hair against my hand has really helped with the frizz, although I still get a lot of it. I think also that colouring your hair helps. When my hair was dyed red it looked a lot healthier than it's natural blonde....

hmmm....thinking about going back red :)

  • Rock, you should consider going back if you enjoyed being a redhead. Red is one of the few colors that regardless of skin tone IMHO most anybody can wear it and it's universally flattering.

    In other words...Redheads (gingas) unite!

    (at least in spirit!!)

    =)

  • ah yeah, I think I will tomorrow :)

it was either red or a lighter blonde, but the lighter blonde may damage my hair even more.

Red hair is more fun anyway! :)

  • LOVELY!!
