Very nice video. It looks like he is just spreading the straw but in your ealier comments it says that he is chopping it. Looks long for chopped straw. Is it your own machine ?
@desjack1 He has the chopper engaged and that's where the straw is emerging from. If you look at my Harvest video from Seward County 2011, that machine is not using any chopper and leaving the straw in a windrow for bailing. This is not my machine, it belongs to an area farmer. Thanks for watching :)
@leather064 You'll notice he was using the straw chopper which flails the straw into small bits and then spreads it across the ground. This is too small to bale and is chopped up so it's easier to work back into the soil. He could have disconnected the chopper and then baled the straw for animal bedding etc. but he didn't.
bom amigo, eu tenho um sonho de trabalhar com este tipo de máquinas. Eu sou do Brasil pretendem ir a esses lados. mas então eu quero saber como encontrar essas fazendas Faso grande e assim ser capaz de encontrar um bom emprego?
@UP5140SD70M Thank you. The harvest vids are vert popular, I hadn't been around combines for several years and it was cool to see how far they have advanced.
Awesome job AJ67901. I posted a similar video of winter wheat harvest in SD last year, but you did a much nicer job. Thanks for sharing.

@Jezek44 He was harvesting without one, just the semi. He was working alone at the time and was only a couple of miles from the elevator.

Most often it's left to be worked back into the soil.

What happens to the straw which is dumped out the back? is it baled or left to rot and fertilize the fields
