    Saturday, September 25, 2010

    Standard Time +0800 UTC

  • what frequency is that?

  • Art Bell rocks!

  • There's a local HAM festival near my town. I usually go for all the cheap computer parts and stuff. I've always been interested in HAM radio, but I know I'd probably fall short on the technical know how.

  • Is the Ham smoked nicely?

  • These guys are dull. Put up some recordings of W6WBJ or K6TXH.

  • i drove in parump were art bell lives it way out and no were butt its nice area and small city near him. i like it there i dorve by and i saw a space alien beating art up and yelling quit talking about me somebody will believe you, i didnt get involved butt that night driving i had some weird things happen to my car way out in the desert around one a.m. .

  • Muy buen trabajo... me gusto mucho

  • How do i get on Ham radio? Is it nything like CB radio? Id love to no.

  • contact a local Amateur radio club in your area, and ask them for information about how to become a ham operator odds are they will stick you with an elmer(experienced ham)and he/she will mentor you until you get your license.

  • @scrog77 they laughed at me once for asking for a break on twenty something point somthin sumthin sumthin

  • gripping

  • boy...what a boring QSO...SRI Art.

  • Nice audio!

  • Great visuals! Is that an electronic visual response to the audio? How you do that?!

  • windows media player lol

  • Why do I always imagine Art Bell looking like Dave Thomas (person who started Wendy's)?

  • A great face for radio, as he frequently states himself!! I love Art.

  • Funny how some Advanced and General class licensees think it's alright to transmit CW in the Extra portion of the band. I'm refering to the station desperately trying to be acknowledged at the very end of this audio clip.

  • What sites do you recommend for one looking into learning more about HAM? What is "CW"?

    Thank you!

  • no sites, get books. its called reading. go to the library and pick up anything you can find on: RF Ham Radio amateur radio. also anything from the ARRL. CW is Continuous Wave, or morse code.

    73s DE KB3PRD

    -.- -... ...-- .--. .-. -..

  • morse code

  • if you notice, its Art Bells callsign, its an auto id'er that some folks use now days

  • No it was not OBB's CW IDer I was referring to. If you listened to the CW you'd know what I'm talking about. He is an advanced class licensee and the QSO took place in the Extra part of the 75m band.

  • why is that funny? It is permitted right?

  • No.

  • vilemoney, Ham radio started the broadcasting, the cell phone, wifi, even chat rooms. look up google please

  • Cell phones?? are radios too you stupid, and I rather talk on Ham radio B/C I can meet people from around the world and learn from them. Oh and it's FREE!!!!

  • Ham radio is a great sports and make friends.!

I'am a ham radio operator.but, not gonna post my call sign cause don't wan't computer noobs to spam. me.

  • Interesting that this just happened to be cut short of 10 minutes. Was this because no one on this net was legally identifying?

  • not sure what you were listening to - but I heard several IDs on there - including a CW ID even. The part of the QSO here is only 8 minutes so there were really no reason for ID at that time. Either way - would like to try for them some evening while they are on.

  • Yeah, and those cell phones are really good when the towers go down in a tornado.... probably one of these little men who is mad about a yagi in his 'hood.

  • I would have to agree with what you said.

  • Have you made your mind up about who you would like to see in the Whitehouse? If you could hand pick the President, who would you choose? Before you do make that important decision please check out Ron Paul. It is your choice. Make it count!

  • They used to hang out on 3850 but I think they've moved down to 3678 now. I'd like to know the rundown on Art's audio chain. Lots of Heil, I'm guessing.

  • What frequency do these guys get on?

  • I believe its the 75 meter band

  • wow, you losers.... :P

  • You can thank some of these "Losers" the next time you get on your cell phone, Without these "LOSERS" You might still be feeding your homing pidgeons

  • vilemonkey You have NO IDEA what you are talking about because before scanners with the cellular bands on them became illegal, we used to listen to the HOURS of mindless drivel on CELL PHONES! In fact at least HAM operators do not talk on HAM while they drive and almost kill people like so many soccer moms do every single day! You need to think before you post!

  • Based on your comments and what I KNOW about

cellular phone conversations vs HAM radio,

    sure doesn't seem like it.

But go on making a fool of yourself on the

world wide public forums. For everyone to see.

  • What you fail to realize is that Ham Radio operators are responsible for many of the innovations in radio technology. Including the use of repeaters and some Cell Phone technology. Think and research before you post.

  • If it were up to some of these Loser's there might be slavery to. Figure it out.

  • Will do.

  • thanks for this. Yes if you can post more. 73, Curtis KI6ESK

  • I'll be posting some of Art Bell's ham radio audio (if Art doesn't mind) for people who can't stay up late (1am PST) to listen to it.
