hey, I have a question. I see this a lot-- someone on high stakes poker has a GREAT hand, and someone else has either a worse hand or is bluffing. The guy with the worse hand makes a bet, and the guy with the great hand comes OVER THE ROOF with some gigantic bet. Why is this? Like, I just saw in season 3 when Matasow check raised three 9's to 15,000 or something like that, and the other guy, who was bluffing, insta folds. What is this??

@betthisonesfree cuz it's less than likely that they're completely bluffing in those spots.. more often, have a strong-looking, yet dominated hand (bad combo for them), or they are semi-bluffing on a draw. in both these spots they extract extra value by having people pay to draw, or fold those rare complete bluff hands that may end up catching runner runner outs. and even in these bluff cases, you're not extracting more money from these hands on later streets, so aggression here is profitable.
