  • Michael Jackson's favourite Stevie song.

  • @omario8816 Yeah I read the interview isnt it ironic how proud MJ felt one side of his heritage and all and other side he ended looking like a caucasian? You see him in black or white vid turning into a black panther, screaming against racism and the kkk but its a white man you watching!

  • @fede4real No, you're watching a man who stands for Truth, Love, and equality throughout all humanity. Color doesn't matter - he served as a perfect example of that!

  • Jamiroquai 15 years before Jamiroquai...

  • @Macieqsk8

    Just like I said...

  • @marengonigregory

    I just accepted it :)

  • @Macieqsk8

Until Jay Kay falls into drugs and offers us soulless electronic music...

  • @majordoom1

Yep, everything changed. He was creating something new, his music was big discovery and big influence for many artists. I'm still dreaming about old school Jamiroquai gig... :)

    Greets!

  • @Macieqsk8

Absolutely JK took this vibe and many other from that Black Disco Jazzy era and created his own version in a brilliant way. Luv Jamir

  • @majordoom1

JK gave us enough amazing collection of albums and songs to be given a break for falling a bit short in his latter years but every release some some great offerings nevertheless. Atleast he's got something unique amongst an unimaginative industry

  • @wigginsdesign

Not false. But in any case I love JK too, although above all his debuts when real musicians played on his discs and not rythmboxes...

  • *built

  • Jay Kay from Jamiroquai build his whole 1st period career beginning from this track ! Lesson the beat and you'll agree !

  • @marengonigregory you got a good ear,I always heard stevis infleunce in jamiroquai but in this track is soooooo evident u're right.he kept the same melodie arrangements in near all of his songs. In some way I enjoyed jamiroquai at first then year after year it got like the same song voer and over again.good sound thou

  • Still relevant.

  • nothing like a history lesson to make a slap on the face!

  • 35 years later, can't touch this...

  • @04mucklowd

My God, how stupid can you get!

  • Just One quick question, how does Stevie know that he is Black?

  • Comment removed

  • @04mucklowd Lol dat just made me think about that dave chapelle skit with the black white supremacist lol

  • one of the greatest albums ever released

  • Nice history lesson...knew it since I was 5 in '76

  • I taught my students their heros and heroines by using this song by Bro Stevie. Thank you Black Man

  • EVERY time I hear the end of this song it always chokes me up. It's some powerful stuff going on and if you have any shred of soul, any shred of love for humanity you cannot help but be moved.

  • damn do i ever hope he tours Canada.

  • Funk at its best, with a strong message

  • you are right

  • One who does not understand history...especially of their OWN people...are not much help to any man.

  • sorry hate 2 doulbe dip but while those comments that were written Do you know when this came out 1976 nuff said

  • I feel shame reading these comments coz when this music was created people listened to the words whether it was Bob Dylan or this blessing Please LISTEN THIS WORLD WAS MADE FOR ALL the different people spoken about at this time WERE NOT BEING SPOKEN ABOUT using music to bring knowledge is apart of this countrys history we have a chance to learn now ITS YOUR CHOICE

  • I wonder if this song was controversial when the album was released. It seems like it would have been.

  • @sandinyourshoes Not Controversial at all. Just a great song on a All-Time Great Album. But there would be a freak out today.

  • @mstephens44, that is good to know. I guess it may seem highly Afro-centric on the surface, but it actually pays tribute to heroes from all over the globe from many different times in history. Therefore, it shows great balance.

  • @sandinyourshoes just a stark reminder back then as today - this World was made for all men

we should bring up our children to be colour-blind

  • @roblowefan1, blind to color in the sense that we do not hate one another based on color is always a very good system for society. However, we should NOT be blind to culture and tradition. They will not suddenly cease to exist, and people should not act as if they do not exist. It would be impossible to do, anyway.

  • I was 15 when this song came out. It inspired me to learn more about our nation's history, not just Black American history but history of ALL Americans. I'm now 50 and the song inspires me esp. the lyric "when your hand touches you heart, remember we all played a part in America to help that Banner wave."

  • Thank God for great music! Thank God for Black People!

  • I'm ashamed to be white..

  • @monkeys350 You are missing the message. Just be proud to be an an American!

  • @monkeys350, why?

  • I just don't understand. Why ruin any song, with an irrevelant argument? He was born in a time where discrimination was strongly advocated. What makes this song, along with many of his others is that he's able to connect to the feelings of people who struggled. These are the problems that were present during his time, so please if you agree or disagree relax. No reason to argue, this is a positive song, as Stevie says : "Love is for all men."

  • This song came out when I was 15, and it inspired me to learn more about my African American history and ALL history. I look back now and realize the song is somewhat flawed because it tends to be skewed more toward the men making history than the women, but at least it was a starting point. I'd love to see a re-make of this song.

  • these type of songs will never be made by the younger generations...this is a promise.

  • Why are people starting political arguments on a Stevie video no one wants to see that bullshit enjoy Stevie

  • OK PEOPLE HERES YOUR HISTORY LESSON! IAM SO PROUD TO BE A BLACK WOMAN.

  • music has come so far.

  • @5104560711 Really? Music has regressed to the garbage that it is today.

  • @mstephens44 THATS WHT I WS IMPLYING

  • this world was made for all men!

  • I always I got a history lesson with this track!!! Better than school Like RZA says buy the Wu-Tang Double Cd..you'll get all the information...well, this can be said with this song..The most memorable part is when you have the parents/griots/teachers Q&A's the children on the who's who towards the end...as Stevie is using the Voice Box in backgorund...B4 Roger, T-Pain, and countless others...He & Peter Frampton were like the only ones using the device at the time with game changing results...

  • real dark skin black man=real black music!

  • we need more real chocolate/dark/brown skin black kids in america and in all the world! dark skin and black love the best! black power!

  • Just feel lyric of this song! この曲の歌詞は素晴らしい。Time to learn....だけどまだ人は愚かな差別や争いを繰り返している。俺は悲しい。

  • For a blind guy, Stevie sure knows a lot of different colors...

  • @CoolerKing37 Wow! Great thought, way cool!

  • Thumbs waaay the fuck up if you're sick and tired of lame ass Bush Vs Obama arguments! Bottom line, presidents, like anyone else, are due to personal preference. Besides, this song transcends that crap

  • Next to Funkadelic's "One Nation Under A Groove", THIS is my 4th of July Anthem and my everyday National Anthem!

  • @EFunkRock He supposedly recorded this on July 4th, 1976....hmmm Coincidence!

  • This makes me ashamed to be white...

  • All people All babies All children All colors All races This world's for you and me This world My world Your world Everybody's world This world Their world Our world
  • all of your politicians are controlled by the same folks. Just show your respect to Mr. Stevie Wonder. Peace. !!!

  • GREAT song!! SERIOUS funk- ALSO one of the worst presidents of the United States IS a black man.

  • @Rtfune THE WORST PRESIDENT NAME IS GEORGE W. BUSH A WHITE DEVIL

  • @universoul19 On George W.'s WORST days, he was still better that Barack "INSANE" Obama. At least George W. did not make us look like the laughing stock of the world- he did not let gas prices get as high as they are now- he never FORCED a scandelous health care program on the nation, I could continue!!

  • @Rtfune Both of you shut up, do not start a racial and political argument on a fucking stevie wonder video

Some people are just soul dead

  • @joezetank Well, it is what it is!!!

  • @Rtfune lol stupid obama doesnt come close to what bush did. Putting our economy in the tank , lying to get us into war, torturing, katrina. Wtf are u smoking. Obama is horrible for trying to make health care affordiable for all ppl lol? and btw the president doesnt have shit to do with gas prices, oil companies do.

  • @FatalityTTT BLAH BLAH BLAH!! Let it go-- You ain't gonna win this one!!

  • @Rtfune Win what i already know im right lol. Im never wrong.

  • @Rtfune Lol win what? I already know im right lol. Im never wrong because im the realest person on the planet.

  • @Rtfune he didnt, supposedly we have one of the greatest militaries and defense system, yet three national landmarks were attacked on the same day? you look like a fool to me. your education system is piss poor... you look like a fool to me.... you budget is trillions in the deficit behind a president who had us millions in the surplus...what was it you were saying that dumb ass did on his best days????

  • @CristobalNegro You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to mine- HOWEVER, don't you think that you calling me a fool (name calling) is a bit childish on your part??? I mean you have made it obvious how you feel about me personally and we never even met face to face. You need to do your homework and learn how lousy of a president Obama REALLY is- You don't know what kind of education I have, NOR do you know me individually- You just keep on making your rude and childish comments.

  • @Rtfune however old i appear, that's why it's called an opinion, just like you have your opinion of the job barack obama is doin, In YOUR lifetime, who's done a better job? and what homework have you done that says barack obama is the 1/44 of the worst presidents this pitiful mass of confusion you call a nation has ever had?

  • @CristobalNegro It sounds to me that you are trying to fan the flames and REALLY start some type of a verbal war. I simply made my comment and you have to keep going on and on.. You have said your piece and even called me names- You have a chip on your shoulder- If you hate America so badly, then take your ass out of here and live elsewhere- quit your bitchin' about America- I just bitced about Obama- YOU have made it very clear that you have MAJOR anger issues-

  • @CristobalNegro Ronald Regan was my man!!! I guess that would not be politically correct- I don't live my life trying to be politically correct. I stand by the men who will get the job done!! WE DESPERATELY need another person like Ronald Reagan- I guess I will get some hate mail for posting this- Since this is America, I will post what I want to and I guess you will come back and try and attact me verbally that will not phase me in the least bit!!!! So letter rip!!!!

  • @Rtfune "WE DESPERATELY need another person like Ronald Reagan"

We need someone funding the murder of hundreds of thousands of Guatemalans, Salvadorans and Nicaraguans?

    No thanks, junior.

Ronald Reagan was a mass murderer on the scale of Pol Pot and Josef Stalin whose actions have been whitewashed by those who benefitted financially from Reagan's creation of the corporate state, & by those moral cowards easily duped by flag waving.

"Patriotism is the organized interests of the ruling class."

  • @bapyou You gave me the EXACT responce I was looking for!!!

  • @Rtfune Just so you know: everything you've written about George W Bush is a complete lie. You have a selective and short memory.

In summer 2008 gas prices peaked just as high under Bush as they are now.

The world's view of the U.S. became dismally low following the illegal invasions of both Afghanistan and Iraq.

So why do you continue to believe that Obama is any different than Idiot Bush?

Obama's continued the wars, extended the Patriot Act, etc etc.

    And Ronald Reagan was scum.

  • @bapyou Thank you!!! You have a BLESSED day!!!! May GOD grant you all the wisdom you need on world events.

  • @Rtfune "May GOD grant you all the wisdom you need on world events."

May God grant you the modicum of intelligence it takes to one day know the truth about the corporate whores who run our government, both Republican and Democrat.

And Ronald Reagan was the worst whore among them.

The fact that you think we "need a man like him again" is obscene. Ob-fucking-scene.

Give me another one of your psuedo-upbeat unengaged comebacks, fucking idiot.

  • @bapyou Ok - How is this one- Roses are red voilets are blue; I think you are an idiot, TOO!!

  • @bapyou OK- MR. BRUCE- I get it- You teach at UCLA and you think you are some bigshot teacher who is obviously some form of a liberal- You need to not get so angry when you come across someone who does NOT share the same philosophy in politics and life as you do- That is what is so great about living in America- I don't have to agree with you and I am even trying to be polite- By the way, my name is Mike- I am not a junior.

  • @bapyou INSPITE of all of the disagreements we have shared on here, I STILL think this is a cool jam! I know you could give 2 shits about me- BUT hey- I am retired, living the American Dream here in Houston, Texas and my philosophy and way of thinking has worked WONDERS for me- WE don't have as many liberals as you do in California (NO- I am NOT knocking California) I have relatives who live there- Different parts of the nation have different ideas and viewpoints-right or wrong, that is reality.

  • History lesson in a funky groove! Right on! ♥

  • The GBE

  • Those nine that voted this down don't even have a clue!!

  • the best this should be our national anthem

  • @art4mon1 Our national anthem is great. This song is tongue and cheek and simplistic, not historically accurate, it is simply inspirational.

  • the best this should be our national athem

  • 9 people are racist

  • one thing i hate that people say is i dont see color well either you are color blind or a liar. when you say that you are taking away a persons individuality. we are diverse and different and to me that is what makes the world amazing we are diffrent and diverze we are not the same

  • @MyJohnsonable one day i hope and pray that we dont see colors but people , love the skin your in but love also whats inside thats what counts we all bleed red , may god have mercy on your soul because thats is the only one that shall after a comment like that

  • Glad most of the entries on this board show that the meaning of this song is not missed because of the title. The lyrics note accomplishments by members of ALL races, not just Blacks. That EVERY child has a proud heritage to look back on. What could there possibly be to not like about that? And yes, I saw the ignorant remarks too. I'm just encouraged that they appear to by hopelessly outnumbered.

  • Online dating brides **busizz4me.info**

  • @MyJohnsonable why would come on this page and say that... Get a life bro.

  • @MyJohnsonable your so lost I pray jesus finds you before it's too late.Amen

  • YES...I am proud to be a BLACK MAN!

  • Wow! What a masterpiece! (one of many of Stevie's) Horn arrangement is SICK!

  • Its great to listen to this on Human rights day. Anyone else even know that was today?

  • Good or bad this should be the song playing in the White House everyday LOLOL!!!!

  • remix:

    "in 2008

My older french cousin had this album and I listened to it endlessly. Wow. Great music. I forgot how great it is; or maybe I didn't . It has just been a longgggg time.
