  • i had a nerdgasm when i first heard this in the trailer!

  • @chaosinorderrr i no right lol

  • someone needs to make a video of this playing for at least an hour because i keep replaying it because it's only a FUCKING MINUTE LONG but it's SO GOOD

  • Comment removed

  • they really should make the entire song and not just 1 minuet of it

  • @90rickard It is made, this is the only snippet that can be found because it was from the trailer.

  • Like if you knew this song from the book.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish they would do the whole song in this style but it still is awesome!

  • why has my comment been deleted -.-

  • the reason y the dwarves were excluded is probably because the nearest dwarves to the land lived in moria. Moria was defeated and thus the dwarves were mainly gone until after the defeat of sauron where they re inhabited moria.

  • @sikeyo12 LOL Im sorry mate but Moria was not the only home to dwarves, there were many more than that, and it was never re-inhabited to my knowledge.

  • Probably Tolkien tried to make a whole new story with The Lord of the Rings, because his editor told him to write the sequel of The Hobbit, while what he desired was to write about the Middle Earth ages passed long ago, reason enough to consider the dwarves short appearence in the sequel.

  • @MrPatrickFarrell, dude, the elves got to fight at helm's deep, even they were featured more than the dwarves, the only dwarves were the two other emissaries and Gimli.

  • @abspartanlaser hu? but that was only in the film o.o I don´t remember any elves in Helm´s Deep battle.. in the book neither dwarves or elves are shown to much

  • Already would make Tolkien proud. Well done mr. Jackson...well done.

  • Just me, or did the dwarves get ignored in Lord of the Rings except in the Hobbit.

  • @abspartanlaser yeah but LOTR is the story of men, even the elves get barely a look-in.

  • This song is like, 2 pages long in the book.

  • expectations about movie are rising up day by day

  • "I cannot guarantee his safety." "Understood." "nor will I be responsible for his fate." :o

  • @wildcatfourever4 That was epic :3

  • What style of music is this?

  • If I don't have the entire soundtrack to this movie in my hands the second it comes out... it won't end well.

    Bless you, Tolkien and Jackson.

  • Makes you thrill wether you love the movie or not

  • D'you think there'll be an extended version like with lotR?

  • @rOcKcHiCk1062 Possibly but it seems like since Peter Jackson is already splitting The Hobbit into two movies they should be able to get all of it in.

  • I will pay good money for the full version of this poem/song when if it comes with the DVD/BlueRay.

I hope that they do it.

  • this song is like crack.

  • @attiyeh422 Fuck i am a crack addict :D

  • thank the UK for giving us J.R.R Tolkien !

  • @111alien111 and lets not forget, thank you Peter Jackson for bringing them to life !!

  • @111alien111 For some reason i can't associate Tolkien with a country...more like he's from middle earth too

  • @adib1190 Tolkien IS Middle Earth. The very realm was created to house his soul, that of which lives on for as long as people love the Lord of the Rings.

  • @111alien111 You know he was born in South Africa, right? But GO J.R.R Tolkien!

  • @lizakonna

he had british parents, and moved to england shortly after, so no, he is not " south african"

  • @111alien111 YES!!!!!!!!

  • @111alien111 UK? Heck no, thank sunny South Africa for that one

  • @mikemurko

he had british parents, and moved to britain shortly after, and his name is old english saxon, so no, not thank sunny south africa

  • @111alien111 actually 'Tolkien' is German

  • @MrPatrickFarrell

LOL no he is not ! he does have german blood in him though, just like everyone from the UK

  • @111alien111 I didn't say HE was German, but that the name 'Tolkein' was.

  • @111alien111 good joke, he was born in south africa

  • @kyokasuigetsu1895

    do your history

  • @111alien111 Actually, South Africa. *scumbag*

  • @111alien111 Actually, South Africa. *scumbag*

  • One of the reasons why I'm looking forward to the Hobbit so much is to listen to yet another masterful score by Howard Shore. Judging from the music in the trailer, I can tell he hasn't lost his touch :)

  • Reminds me of something Quorthon would have done!!

  • Tolkien would have been proud of hearing this.

  • I'm not sure why, but this reminds me of The Other Guys when Will Ferrell was singing in the pub =D

  • lets just hope that they sing the whole song in the movie :S

  • Fucking epic.

  • You know what's freaky? Before the Hobbit even came to exist. I would read the book the Hobbit and I took this song...and gave it almost the EXACT same tune.... o.o

  • SIR! SIR! THE EPIC LEVELS ARE OFF THE CHARTS!!

  • @legojoker111 *removes glasses in a dramatic manner* My god...

  • The best part of this song is that it won't even be the best song in the upcoming movie.

  • @Crumpfan11 True words my friend....!

  • As a huge Tolkien fanatic, I am looking forward to the Hobbit more than the Avengers or Batman (To which I am looking forward to a lot as well).

  • i wish they would make the full version of misty mountains into a song... this is only a very small part of it

  • ohhhhhh gooooooooooood let me listen to this song for every waking moment of everyday for the rest of the days i walk this earth....

  • <3

  • I could die.. ohh.. oh no, I must be alive to see the whole movie! Then, I can die peaceably.

  • I say we all go to a pub with some smoking pipes and sing this!

  • @tehBLAX however thanks to Labour government we cant inside -.-

  • Comment removed

  • @tehBLAX I would do that. No Joke

  • @predalian5 me either!!

  • @tehBLAX god, i would liek that, i have a smoking ipie, I saw LOTr when i was a kid, and swear to myself to buy a pipe when im old enough :D

  • @tehBLAX i love you

  • @MrSpence341 no, i love you.

  • wow its very haunting

  • Chuck Norris has this on his iPod.

  • @cr3916jkd2 Chuck Norris doesn't have an iPod, he just simply snaps his hands and the music plays.

  • It certainly catches the Lord of the Rings spirit. Very epic.

  • If only Tolkien were alive to hear this song. An epic poem made all the more so with epic music.

  • Silmarillion 2013??

    Children of Hurin 2015?

  • @amdathl0n64 I hope

  • @amdathl0n64 i am pretty sure silmarillion wouldn't be able to make a good movie (epic book regardless) although Turin's story would be awesome to watch...

  • they did very well but they left notes out too but itsk because yor awesome

  • Great song, whoever the REAL person composed it. or sang it, I dunno, but this is GREAT. And, Listen to this song + play skyrim, enjoy

  • @Tempestrident Written by Tolkien, composed by Howard Shore.

  • I only wish this song looped.

  • If they can't make a full song using every verse sung in the book, they have to at least include the verses sung at Bag End.

  • Chills

  • epic!!!!!

  • Something occured to me. I absolutely love this, nearly as much as I adore the book, and know I will the film... but go listen to Pippin singing "all shall fade" in Return of the King. Just me?

  • Does anyone know similar songs as Misty Mountains? Cause it´s extremly epic.... i like this kind of chants a lot... you can imagine and dream about all kind of things while listening to this song...

  • I always read this in the books with a much more upbeat tempo, but this is fantastic.

  • Haunting.

  • Have you taken the download link down? I've been trying to find a place to buy this song. and its nowhere to be found unfortunately...

  • if only it was like 3 mins long

  • Something like pippin's song in the Return of The King

  • I hope the final soundtrack will have the full poem

  • @NedimHusic If not, then I think that the extended edition definitely will :) you know, there's a LOT of different versions of this song over the years, and I like them all quite a bit.

  • i love this song ... it makes me sad and happy at the same time its like aragorn in the return of the King or Pippin as the steward of gondor omg !!:):)

  • I would give anything to live in middle earth.

  • wish it was longer

  • I wish this song was 10 minutes longer.

  • Got my new Creative headset.

It was like God was speaking to me while Thor was beating his hammer to make thunder.

    Mother of god.

  • @ThaneDoorin i think u meant Odin

  • @RSVDCN No, I mean Thor, seeing as Thor is the norse mythological god of thunder, lightning, storms, strength, and also known as the protector of mankind.

Odin on the other hand is the "All father" of the other norse gods, and also the god of wisdom.

If you mean "It was like Odin was speaking to me" Then sure, whatever makes your day.

  • @ThaneDoorin yea, u mentioned Thor so i think Odin would fit there more than God

  • @ThaneDoorin what thor

  • @HisDivineShadow245 There's a little something called fair use. He's (presuming he, here, I apologize if the uploader's a she) not making money off the song, and therefore it falls under fair use as long as the current owners don't tell him to take it down. Or as long as SOPA doesn't pass.

  • @ReidGirl1307 You should learn what actually constitutes "fair use," ReidGirl. This certainly does not count.

  • @HisDivineShadow245 Fuck off... nobody gives a shit

  • @HisDivineShadow245 I see you are a SOPA supporter, you must be american

  • @WaterCursed dude...not cool...most Americans hate SOPA...the only reason it has any ground is because it finally deals with ht e problem of intellectual property rights...but seeing as you are not American...you probably don't care about the creations of others

  • @4theboard so because i am not an american, i do not appreciate nor care about creations of others ?

You are one arrogant, retarded, vigorous, mother fucker you know that...

I seriously hope you die really soon you damned piece of shit.

  • @WaterCursed no dude...i was using the same uncaring response that you used on the other guy who i care nothing for...i don't actually believe that...i was just making a point...and, it looks like my point was made with your very colorful response...have a nice day!

The reason I write that in all my videos is because the last time I neglected that information, Kontor New Media took down my old account because they thought I was trying to profit and take credit for their music. By writing the disclaimer, it emphasizes that I'm only sharing the content and not trying to exploit it.

So, actually, it would be pretty dumb NOT to put a disclaimer in the videos. This account would probably be gone if I thought like you .

  • @HisDivineShadow245

Youtube's reason for closing my former account was for multiple copyright infringements (3), one actually being from Zack Hemsey, the composer of Mind Heist. He sent me a personal message from his YouTube account stating that I change my video info to cite him as the composer (since no one knew who had composed the music at the time the trailer came out, I hadn't cited a composer, and i guess it looked like I was trying to claim the property).

  • I changed it, but a day later, he uploaded the video himself and his company (HEntertainment Inc) had my video removed for copyright violation. Kontor New Media took my account out for uploading music from the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer, and I hadn't cited composer, because I didn't know who it was. Do I know that's the reason for sure? No. But it's very likely. And since putting disclaimers, I haven't gotten any copyright claims. Read the "Fair Use column.

  • @Resurrected2011 That guy should just stfu and enjoy the song

  • @Resurrected2011

    You got what you deserved.

You NEVER use a musician's music without giving them credit.

    Never.

"Music by .." is the least you can do.

Advertise the great musicians you've used, that's only fair.
