i like how you used a simple 555 chip for the PWM. I am interested to obtain your schematic for this. Do you think you could use the same circuit accept with IR sensors pointed at the ground?
Let me look around and see if I can find my schematic. It's nothing more than a simple 555 timer circuit with two CdS photoresistors in series in place of a potentiometer. You'll have to send me a message, so that I'll know where to send the schematic once I find it.
I love the idea of not using a microcontroller :)
