one major thing with X plane is that its not all just numbers put into a computer, it actually uses the shapes of the planes to work. also you can crash land on water.
Dang it! I knew I should have got the widescreen Mac desktop instead of that stupid IBM PC with expensive gtx 280 video card, that has all the wierd stuff happening to it now!!! My wife was right! FartHammers!
In the Mac desktop, the $1700 dollar one, does it normally have a video card fast enough to run x-plane at a good rate? This looks pretty good for default scenery.
but dude, think about it.....Ace Combat only concentrates on like 20 maps, in which all are about 20 square miles...and x-plane covers the entire planet...i dont think anybody has the time to detail the whole world in one game...and how many GB of space would that take up? So you gotta give them a break...that looks pretty good for less than %1 of th planet..know what i mean?
@surfs1man when you're only modelling a few small areas for an arcade flight game, you can go all out and make your graphics look incredible. When you're modelling the entire world for a professional flight simulation package you have to make a few compromises.
No. Addon for fsx are addon for....fsx. Xplane has some add on but not as much as fsx. But you can easily convert an fsx/2004 scenery to xplane format. For vacouver a scenery for xplane that s called inside passage exist. google it
@ellonysman it runs somewhere between 4 to 10 times faster tham MSFSX, i play it on i5-750 with gtx260 and it pushes 150 to 200 fps (full detail level), sometimes it goes lower, but most of the time it goes like hell
i seem to get these sort of graphics running it off a macbook pro
great video btw

Is there the same basic addons for xplane as there is for fsx? Would love some fancy addon scenery for vancouver bc.

WOW, xplane looks fantastic....how does it run for power consumption and vid card demands? The FSX sucks power out of the pc's I hear...Rick

You do need a good computer but it does not hit your video cards as bad as FSX. Not nearly as bad.
