I think lars really did some numbers before that had him all tired and sweaty... his power and rhythms are good however no matter how good he tries he cannot match joey's speed and skill.. but no wonder both are awesome drummers coz lars fit metallica's drumming perfectly .Joey's my favorite tho he's too good to be compared... joey's attitude rocks

The fact that he looks in pain the entire way through proves to me, personally, that he is a shite drummer. But I've always disliked Lars, more for his character than anything else.

You watch Lars trying to play Sandman, arguably the easiest metal song on drums, and he is sweating and having a hard time. It looks like he's struggling the entire time. And then Joey steps in, plays everything perfect, looks almost bored, due to the lack of difficulty, looks to James when they stop the first time, and then plays through the rest of it, and does a perfectly timed and 100x's more difficult bass drum fill for the last 10 seconds.

Have you seen Lars go double kick crazy with some chinese crash in there? No exactly Lars cant do that he doesnt have th skill to like Joey.
@MrMaggotforlife13 look i love joey but he over drums and tries to become the lead instrument which is not what drums are ment for... he just drowns out the rest of the instruments with his drumming and dominates too much which works with slipkont cause of the writing style of the group but in bands where the melody and harmony of other instruments are ment to be emphasised he over does it he's too lead and doesn't focus on being the beat carrier which gets annoying to watch him showing off

I was there!!! In Donington... unforgettable experience! Lombardo also played with them for the first 3 songs, including Battery... you could tell the drumming was different, far better technically but in terms of style just... different.
