Matt Forte is a BEAST... Rank #5 for RB as a rookie is impressive and he will hopefully carry on the title. 1,012 rushing yards he is about 300 yards shy from Adrian Peterson with 20 less carries. Actually if I was Angello the way I would have drafted would have been: Mendenhall in the 1st round, Brohm in the 2nd, kept the third and fourth round picks the same (Bennett, and Steltz may very well be future pro bowlers), and picked up Ainge in the 5th round and would have had him and Brohm fight it out for starter.

I don't know if you are aware of this, but there is plenty of QB talent in the later rounds. It's better to pick the safer pick in the first round, which was Chris Williams. I was a little annoyed that they didn't take a QB in the 2nd round, but they signed two UFA QBs. Forte may have been available later in the second but I doubt he would have dropped into the 3rd. Kevin Smith barely dropped in the third. Just because I think a good oline is important doesn't mean my logic is flawed.
I'll give you credit where credit is due...I think Eric Ainge is amazing. However, Brohm has an infinite amount of talent that he can let shine in the NFL. I think the bears had the means to trade up in the second round and they could have picked up Brohm and Forte. Moreover, they could have picked up Bennett and Steltz in the later rounds too if they did this. In fact...I think they should've just got rid of Ced Benson and Rex Grossman altogether and used them to get higher draft picks.
I don't think they are going to solve the QB problem that has been plaguing the Chicago Bears since Sid Luckman, but no one thought that Tony Romo was gonna be the answer to the Cowboy's prayers. UFA QBs can be solid contributors and even starters. Look at Kurt Warner and Jake Delhomme. I don't know if it's gonna happen in this particular case, but it's far too early to think that it's not a possibility.

I also really liked Brian Brohm. Kellen Davis (TE drafted out of MSU) was drafted to fill the role of John Gilmore who signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. John Gilmore was a solid blocker and dangerous in the red zone, he was overall a solid contributor whose place needed to be filled. I feel that they could have found a decent blocker who was undrafted or picked one up in the 7th round. Instead they decided to take the "best" players available.
Plus when he gets to the nfl everyone is like 5 seconds faster so thats why i compare him to george cause at his pro day he ran a 4.4 george ran that at his combine so all the speed dosent translate to the game

First of all he was drafted in the second. Second of all yes he is similar to tiki barber in running style. Closer to George's height. The only thing that remotely resembled eddie george is his size. He is much faster than George and slightly faster than Tiki. Barber runs a 4.5 40. George ran a high 4.5..this guy runs a mid 4.4..There is a big difference.

This guy's a legit NFL RB. He's got speed (4.46 forty), he's got size 6'2" 222, and he's got agility and balance. I've heard one respected NFL analyst compare him to Larry Johnson. If the Bears areto get rid of any Running back I'd probably say that they'd get rid of Peterson, because if Hester is going to be a big impact on our Offense we might put Garrett Wolfe as our KR/PR, he is really quick too! And Bensen has a year left on his contract, so I think Forte will start, with Bensen has the "power" back when they need a few yards. I don't know let's just wait till the season.
Not a chance. Peterson will go back to special teams duty and Wolfe will be the change of pace back while Benson and Forte duke it out. Why would they release Wolfe? They just got him last year and he's showed some nice things.

I really like this kid after watching some highlights. He runs with great vision and has the size to back it up. He seems to move great in limited space, which is always a true indicator of how good a RB is. His vision reminds me a little bit of Fred Taylor. Not quite as polished, but just as decisive.

He has skinny legs, fumbled 15 times last year, only could bench press 13 times compared to 23 or more for Mendenhall or J. Stewart so he is not strong enough to take the NFL pounding... but he is very fast. Matt Forte in the late 2nd or early third rd will be a bargain in comparrison. Just for what you spend you will be happier with Forte.
Most likely a 2nd or 3rd rounder. NOT A FIRST ROUNDER. He is overshadowed by a seperate wealth of halfbacks, Mcfadden, Mendenhall, Rice, Felix Jones, etc. Not enough room to squeeze into the first 31 picks. Also he will need time to adjust as a backup due to the anti-Forte speed and difficulty of the NFL. Not a good choice for the teams most desperate for an early-impact player.
Great video. Better than the other videos I had seen of him. Houston needs a RB badly, but we don't have a second round pick and won't be able to get him unless we trade down and pick up a second. I think in the first they have to go CB or OT. He's great.

You cant put Stewart in front of Forte anymore. Runners need their feet, and Stewart's is injured. I have no doubt that he is a top back, but if I'm drafting, no way am I taking a RB with a foot injury that early.

First of all he was drafted in the second. Second of all yes he is similar to tiki barber in running style. Closer to George's height. The only thing that remotely resembled eddie george is his size. He is much faster than George and slightly faster than Tiki. Barber runs a 4.5 40. George ran a high 4.5..this guy runs a mid 4.4..There is a big difference.

This guy's a legit NFL RB. He's got speed (4.46 forty), he's got size 6'2" 222, and he's got agility and balance. I've heard one respected NFL analyst compare him to Larry Johnson. Sure, he put up huge numbers at a mid major school but so did Ladanian Tomlinson. I think we got ourselves a solid NFL back!!!!

I would never compare this kid to Walter Payton, but there are current NFL running backs that tore up shitty teams at nothing schools. Brian Westbrook went to Villanova and hes a stud, and LaDainian Tomlinson went to TCU. It's difficult to say what this kid is going to equate to, but I can personally say I can't wait to see.

If the Bears areto get rid of any Running back I'd probably say that they'd get rid of Peterson, because if Hester is going to be a big impact on our Offense we might put Garrett Wolfe as our KR/PR, he is really quick too! And Bensen has a year left on his contract, so I think Forte will start, with Bensen has the "power" back when they need a few yards. I don't know let's just wait till the season.

I'd take him over McFadden... What you say... are you crazy??? For what McFadden will cost you... a top six pick he will be a disapointment. He has skinny legs, fumbled 15 times last year, only could bench press 13 times compared to 23 or more for Mendenhall or J. Stewart so he is not strong enough to take the NFL pounding... but he is very fast. Matt Forte in the late 2nd or early third rd will be a bargain in comparrison. Just for what you spend you will be happier with Forte.

He is overshadowed by a seperate wealth of halfbacks, Mcfadden, Mendenhall, Rice, Felix Jones, etc. Not enough room to squeeze into the first 31 picks. Also he will need time to adjust as a backup due to the anti-Forte speed and difficulty of the NFL. Not a good choice for the teams most desperate for an early-impact player.

Possibly, but the texans NEED a back badly, so to wait till the 2nd round for a top-tier back might be risky. Not to mention, fred bennett does a great jog opposite dunta. so, the top tackles will be gone, so at 18 its a great place to take Forte. lions have shown great interest and will be picking at 15. bears at 14, its gonna be interesting. My RB grades: McFadden, Mendenhall, Forte, Johnson, and Jones.
