  • wonderful! wow

  • Azam Ali has recorded a song with Dredg. it is awesome.

it's astonishing to see how some people manage to use their voices like instruments, in a way that a master would do.

  • Me encanta Niyaz!!!!

  • Which language is??? Urdu?? Farsi?? Whic one????

  • @smaepiscis Farsi

  • @reza89va Okay Thank you very much!! ;-)

  • its better not to know what she is saying. it fits more beautifully in a language you don't understand. if you were to read the lyric translation it wouldn't correlate with the vibe of the song at all. just let the music paint its own meaning.

  • @7Everett exactly what i was thinking.

  • No idea what she says but she says good

  • No idea what she is saying as I do not speak the language but WOW! BEAUTIFUL SONG!

  • Thank god for the invention of the internet. I discovered wonderful music like this.

  • Harika.

  • Harikasınız. Dilinize, ellerinize sağlık.

  • Harikasın harika.

  • i LOVE it, thank you.

  • let,s look at it this way had azam Ali not song in this film do u think it would'nt be released.I think we should give her the benefit of the doubt and hopefully she will think twice next time.I as a musician did not think much of it but it was interesting.

  • This whore sung for the film "300".

FUCK AZAM ALI!! ZANIKE-YE JENDEH DOZÂRI!

  • she sings it sooooo bad ,,,normali the original one is so beautiful

go and sing for fucking (300 movie) and let persian music alone

  • @khosro7 - I would think that ANY promotion of Persian music and culture internationally would be a plus. If there were ever a time for more cultural appreciation and exposure between peoples, it is now.

  • @SolofTarsus5 @khosro7 we carry our culture and music for 1000's of years no need to such a promotion...i mean one way an anti_cuturale movie song (300) other sing a persian song to show of music is internationale language to hurt what they have done 300 from production to song was very hurtful and lies lies as history is concerned and suddenly weshuld forget what they have meant the revolution has hurt us enough ,so others must stop this (promotion)
  • @khosro7 --- I am not sure if you realise that 300 was a Hollywood film. Being a musician on a Hollywood film is a job, not a political statement. I play the cello. If I had a moral crisis for every time I played the music of a known pedophile (Tchaikovsky and Bernstein) or racist (Wagner) or drug addict (almost everyone else) I would play no music at all. Being a musician is not an endorsement of anyone's political views. It is a job. These are excellent musicians. That's all.

  • @SolofTarsus5 musician has chosen this film for something that millions have been hurt, that has nothing to do with music or academic learning, it's about an idea. for all the guys you have mentioned,(wagner,...)did wagner made racist music ,or other pedofile concert have you chosen for their character or their music? and That you have made the verglijking has nothing to do with subject ,when u got fame u belong to people and ther heart i play 2 western instrument and 4 persian
  • @SolofTarsus5

she know that with that act

    everyone was hurt

Therefore, she sings in persian, and she is not persian

I'm in brussels, and I hope That you ever come visit me

and see us and our character, and to talk, to be sure of

    our, culture, music, hospitality,

thanks for your time and attention

  • Let's go to the mountains.

    Which mountains?

The same that have eagles, oh yes.

And my dog has a rope on its foot, oh yes.

Don't kill my dog, nor my rabbit, nor my deer, nor my pheasants, nor my pigeons, nor my eagles,

For the clutch of the eagle reminds me of the clutch of my lover, oh yes.

  • Lovely song. I understand very little of it since I only lived in Iran till I was about 7 years old. Azam has such an amazing voice :)

  • kudos for the most ignorant comment on youtube........

  • you're hilarious. but you shouldn't take that as a compliment.

  • hey 6 degrees! they invented HD quite a while back....

  • this is the same song from "Shabhaye Barareh" series,

is "The Hunt" the original name of this song?

  • This is a poem by either Rumi or Ferdowsi or the alike. I am not sure. But I am quite sure that it was a poem, then Niyaz sang it followed by Mehran Modiri for Shabhaye Barare.

  • You've got to love Azam Ali, her voval and the way she slowly but rythmicaly shakes that wonderful tooshi, sitting on top of those long towers of legs.

  • omg i luv this song !

merci merci for the upload !

  • i love it

  • I used to just love her voice... now I want her hair!

  • Niyaz is such an amazing group

  • lipsynched

  • beautiful beautiful song

  • It's barareh theme =D

  • I love this song , very exotic yet accesible

  • what a beautiful sound wonderful¡¡ GREAT NIYAZ..

  • awesome persian indian influence

  • it's actually just Persian, it's an old Iranian song, but the lyrics of those times were of the ancient Ariyan language, so it is kind of Indian , but the singer, composer, etc.. were Persian/Iranian

  • She is awesome !!

  • she reminds me of a singer who did some stuff with robert plant an Jimmy paige many years ago i know there is a vidio some where of it maybe battle of evermore?

  • that would be sandy denny :o)

I love her voice, it is exquisite!

  • Im iranian but live in wales and would love to learn to speak farsi so if anybody on here does speak farsi can you point me in the right direction of someone who can help me please?

    Harriet x

  • I think you can find out on line. I have no web address to give you. You may also look up "javanan" magazin in Los Angeles. It should be a good start. You'll find many advertisement for just about any thing.

  • Is she lip syncing? At 1:01 she pulls the mic away, but the vocals keep annunciating... unlike strong reverb. Hmm... good music, though.

  • good pick up - i agree on all counts

  • Yeah. I'm not slamming her or anything... she sounds great. Just noting.

  • Yes, good spot!

So that's probably why Six Degrees put the word "live" in quotes -- because it's not a truly live performance in this video. It's actually very common for bands to make promotional "live" videos like these which are lip-synched. This is so that the performance will sound identical to the record they're promoting.

However, there are also plenty of truly live videos of Azam's singing, and in those she shows that she's capable of this sort of clarity live too.

  • Isn't this type of presentation called "unplugged"? A close type of audience, but live nonetheless? What do you think is the difference?

  • No, as I understand it, the term "unplugged" refers to a live version of a song which has been performed entirely with acoustic (non-electric) instruments. So a lip-synch differs from an "unplugged" performance in that "lip-synch" is pre-recorded, whereas "unplugged" uses no electric instruments (other than microphones and such).

  • Of course, just to confuse matters further, it is possible to do a "lip-synch" of an "unplugged" performance ... all you have to do is record the unplugged performance at an earlier date, and then pretend you are preforming it live during the lip-synch.

    ;)

  • Beautiful! Can someone who understands Persian post the lyrics?

  • the song is a dialogue between two hunters:

    "Lets go the field"

    -"Which field?"

"That field were the rabbits are sleeping"

-"Dont harm the rabbit, his sleep reminds me of the sleep of my beloved"

The song continues like that with hunter #1 suggesting they go to the field, the mountain, the garden etc, and everywhere they go hunter #2 doesnt want to kill anything because all of nature reminds him of his lover

  • Wonderful! Thank you.

  • i luv the way she sings and her voice is so beautiful

  • me casaría con ella.

  • Hermoso!!! adoro a Azam Ali, que preciosa música :D

  • so beautiful, bi sabrane montazere ahanghaye jadide azam ali be zabane farsi hastim...

  • Incredible, such is the power of Iranian poetry and music

  • Does anyone know the older version of this folksong or the songname i am searching for it for years.

  • Why does Bush want to bomb these people? Fuck Bush. Persian culture rocks!

  • anlamıyorum nıye bu kadar guzel

  • I am listening this over and over again and can not get enough of it. Beautiful!

  • this is a persian song.....i know the lyrics but i cant translate.this is a folklore song.shabhaye barare yadash bekheyr...

  • My favourite Niyaaz song. Could someone please post the lyrics + translation.

    Thanks.

  • Being Iranian, i have got difficulties to understand this fully. Personally, i have to confess that i am unable to translate it at all. Maybe other Iranian fellows who are more familiar with both English and Persian literature could help.

  • This is LORI accent,

  • you mean Dari not lori.

  • DARI is a lang but LORI is an accent spoken in LORESTAN

  • Lori is as far as i know not only an accent but a language type. The music and the rhytm of this song is similiar to the afghan musics and their language [Dari]. I dunno about lorestan music but i always thouth lori is similiar to kordi.

  • LORI is a ''GOOYESH'' but farsi dari is a language spoken in afganistan.thats why we iranians dont understand afghani ppl when they speak in their own language.

AZAM ALI has been living in india and she has adopted the music and mixed it with other stuff..

KURDI is an a language with its own grammar but there is no such a thing called LORI LANGUAGE.A language needs an alphabet and grammar as far as im concerned which LORI doesnt.

  • No it`s not a gooyesh when someone speaks in lori [read in wikipedia page] i bet we both could not understand much of it. It is like saying Azari is a Gooyesh which is also wrong.

A language don`t need an alphabet People spoke to each other even without alphabet thousends of years ago but to satisfy you latin alphabet is beeing used in alot of countrys that doesn`t mean they are all using one language.

  • Lori is a gooyesh,like baluchi,like mazani,like ...........

dadash pls dont rely on wikipedia. its good for school boys only.

take a trip to the motherland or atleast ask someone who has some experience in the field.

Me and you are not able to understand MAZANI,BALUCHI so shall we call them a diff lang? thats why we have 2 diff words in farsi. ONE IS GOOYESH , THE OTHER ONE IS LANGUAGE.

Pls read more before making comments.thx.

  • If you think that way than Dari is also a gooyesh since you could easily understand almost everything they say. You have to take in account they are related to the Farsi language no doubt but they have their own language type and alot of words are beeing used which is not beeing used in farsi aswell as i other regions in Iran they are all Persians of course but they have their own language forms or Dialekts.

  • Before flamming the wiki page pls atleast read it it say lori dialekt but it is also refered as lori language. Also i am not like other Iranian Trators flying back to iran and living outside of the Country buying houses in iran and living in wealth but in the same time selling their souls to the Terrorist regime there. And if you don`t understand a language than it is a foreign language [branch of persian alng. also]. I dunno about iranians calling it Gooyesh but if they do than that is wrong.

  • an kas ke nadanad va nadanad ke nadanad, dar jahle morakab ta abado dahr bemanad.

  • A fact is a fact. Sokhaneh rast to az Mardomeh divaneh shenoh, ta namirim Mapendar ke mardaneh shavim.

  • If we accept you logic, then Australian Aborigine language is not a language because they don't have an alphabet, neither native Americans and many others.

Lori is a seperate language similar to Kurdish, and Farsi..

  • dont accept anything. enjoy ur ignorance

  • man i have a question...Azam it doesn't seems to me a irani woman...do u?

  • what do you think?your are waching too moch the news yes they are like this if we have mother fucker goverment but we are better than this if you like i will send my mother foto in her univercity she is modern than girls they are estuding in art univercity look iranian they are not arab and they dont like CHADOR

  • Sims that u missunderstood me...i did't saied that she sims not to be irani just because she is modern or something like that...i just saied that because sims to me that she have a diferent accent, like a english trying to learn and speak farsi, understood? But if u say she`s irani then i believe u,i let the iranians to judge, and not me because i'm not persian,i'm just a romanian who have an oppinion. And i know iranians are very moderns,i have many friends from iran.

  • sorry ]]] too much.and i did mistake and tank you told me..and i am your friand now

  • if i remember correctly she moved from iran to india when she was very young. she probably learned english these and didn't practice farsi enough and so has an accent. i wouldn't know for sure of course.

  • my friend she does not have an accent. She sings fluent farsi,

  • She has an accent in this music. for example she pronounce Koftar instead Kaftar (or formally Kabutar) which means dove. but this is a folk music from North Khorasan of Iran, maybe this is a local accent of there in original music.

  • shes an indian muslim so her urdu accent kicks in ocassionally i guess

  • I thought she was Iranian and just raised India?

  • She is iranian, born in iran, raised in india.

  • got this cd by chance, and the sounds are different and enjoyable the combination of violin, drums, and table...wow...they did a super great job combination all these types of instrument.

  • very good performance

  • I love this also. Great band to see live. They draw eclectic audience. They are polished here but also get pretty raw during their set and you don't know what will happen next.

  • i like this A LOT! But i wish there was a translation for this...

  • I don't have the translation, but...

It is an Iranian folk tale about a man who goes hunting one day but sees his beloved in everything so is unable to kill a single creature...

  • Thanks for the summary! I understand now why they chose this folktale -- the context makes the song even more powerful.

  • this song is for Mehran Mordiy! one of the Actors in Iran ... this song is awesome :x

  • I Should say that it is not by mehran modir,it's a alt song from iran, and the rythmous of this song and edit is bye axiom of choice that mehran modiri used whitout permision .

  • I think this is an old folk music . Mehran Modiri!!

  • she look like to aynur dogan everybody can s search in yotube

  • She's absolutely awesome!

  • wow.. her voice is soo nice, so appealing. something about it.. unique.

  • Wonderful!

  • What is the translation?

  • Thats great!!!

  • This(her) music is so amazing.

    Cant say anymore

  • Great band , flawless singing .

  • i watched her 'live' at Babylon. She is perfect. The finest female vocal on earth probabaly!
