@pyronathanpyro Please see the Ajax Razorfang X177-X2B (link on this video and in video response) which is the newer version of the Ajax X177. Yes, these are designed to be built at home with no special machining (no lathe/mill) using common hand/power tools. Information on the valve will be posted soon; be sure to visit the website (see description) for more information.
@WhiskySAMS Certain airguns are apparently legal in Germany without a license, namely those limited to 7.5J (~213 m/s w/std 0.177 BBs). While the X177 can exceed this, options allow the builder to construct sub-7.5J devices; there are also options for semi-auto only (for those areas which require it). But, as we don't know the laws in your area, it's up to you to verify all the laws and adhere to them when you order/build the airgun (i.e., F-in-pentagon and/or anything else you need to do).
@carnage6ar If you haven't yet done so, be sure to contact Liberty Airguns and give them your contact information (web address can be found in the video, description, and channel page). Kits are made in batches, and relative to the high demand there are a limited number available per each roster period. If you want to get an Ajax in the near term (during the first few batches) you'll need to get on the roster notification list (ASAP) and then sign up on the roster when it opens.
@TheJamesBlondie007 Nope, it's not a modified paintball gun. There are no pre-assembled airgun mechanisms at all, actually. When you build it, you'll be constructing it from basic materials and some common items (all salient parts are supplied in the kit). It's built from the ground up, and the plans show you how. The methods used in the Ajax series comprise what we believe to be the most air efficient automatic airgun systems in existence.
@LibertyAirguns i just thought it was a mod paintball gun cause it look pretty similar to a paintball. Some paintball gun use the e-grip, i dont know if that is consider a mechanism but my alpha black used it for full auto. What the price gonna be for this full auto bb gun?
@TheJamesBlondie007 There are no pre-assemblies (such as the e-grip you mentioned) or anything else like that; you build everything using basic materials and some common items (requiring no lathe or mill). We wanted something that's very interesting (and fun!) to build, without requiring special tools. Our upcoming kit is based on a newer model; price and other information will be posted shortly.
@shannonkuch Thanks! Plans and kits will be available in the near future. Also, be sure to visit the Liberty Airguns website for more information (you can also drop an email there with any contact info).
@lifes40123 We have built Ajax mechanisms into various form factors and have some Uzi-style versions. Note that it's possible to run the Ajax on CO2 as an option, but air (compared to CO2) is generally a superior propellant (namely performance wise) with the exception of volumetric energy density.
@lifes40123 The standard X177 is unique; it's not an Uzi replica, but can be configured in an SMG style of similar type/dimensions. If you want an Uzi replica specifically, you'll need custom form factors for the Ajax mechanisms. More information (including pricing/availability) will be coming in the near future.
Note that this is just one form factor in one low-cost experimental variant; our Ajax methods can be (and have been) applied to many other form factors. I'll also add that the Ajax automatic series variants (along with some others among our experimental units) are far more fun than any other guns I've used (and I've used a lot of them!).
well when the info comes please dont hold back let us know. Unless you have a new breakthrough the only thing i can think of would be spring power, but that wouldnt have as much power and speed
The rumors about someone here having patents pending for novel propulsive methods are true, but that's for another project. There are also patents pending for methods used in the Ajax, but breakthroughs there are for other aspects. Ajax units are pre-charged pneumatics (like practically all high-end airguns); the unique methods provide many advantages, one being unprecedented air efficiency - as far as we know the Ajax represents the highest air efficiency of any automatic airgun in existence.
Regarding other systems, we can't discuss our innovations (yet) but spring power is only one option among many and we did consider it and have experimented with it. During that experimentation we created what we believe to be the most powerful spring system ever built. But, for this specific application (Ajax), pre-charging had enough advantages to make it the reasonably clear winner, at least for this particular project and its goals.
This specific DIY variant cost around $50 in parts, but such depends on your scrounging ability and how elaborate you make the gun (cost can vary significantly based on these factors). A limited edition version (manufactured) may be offered to a few select customers; it will be similar in price to a higher end PCP.
Please check out the sidebar and site for more info... X177 is .177; we've built units in a wide range of calibers and may offer others in the future. .177 is excellent - the ammo is inexpensive and readily available which makes it particularly attractive. Capacity depends on build and caliber; we've experimented with high capacity magazines (300+ rounds) in some constructions; my preference tends towards 50 round removable magazines (they're convenient and far easier to construct).
Yes, we do have a website and there is some additional information there, but detailed info about the mechanisms themselves will have to wait for release of the plans. You can find the site address in the sidebar information (at the end of the text) and also at the end of the video (after the credits). Note that we are planning a major update of the site fairly soon, which should include a FAQ and other information. Thanks!
very interested, will these be avaible in 500fps max. Canadian Versions for people without a PAL. Then if they wish a conversion kit could be purchused and maded into supersonic. As a Canadian I am very hopeful to see this avaible for import someday soon. also I would love to see other desgin arrangements! site? I think there is one, I'll have to check.
Thanks! Yes, we're planning a 500 fps max version (and also a semi-auto only version) for certain countries. The variant above was tuned for ~400 fps max; on most newer X177s the max velocity can be tuned up another 50-100+ fps without upgrades (i.e., 500 fps or higher) with the nominal velocity hovering around 420-450 fps in the standard, basic models (depending on tuning and other factors). Incorporating all the planned mods, tuning and upgrades, X177s are capable of exceeding 1000 fps.
Our supersonic Ajax variants comprise a different gun than the upgraded X177s, because the increased requirements necessitate different materials, beefed-up mechanisms, and more complex fabrication. These higher end models are planned to be custom built since they are not currently suited for construction without special machining (they will be professionally crafted, but they will also be far more expensive).
Versions of the X177 can (and have) been built in other form factors. Such is more defined by materials selection, cost, builder capabilities, etc. In this variant, certain compromises were made to keep the costs low and the implementation relatively simple (achievable by the enthusiast with limited resources and no special equipment).
That's a great question, but you'll have to wait a bit for release to get more info on the mechanisms. In the meantime though, note that this is NOT a vortex/cloud or other type of blower gun.
As mentioned on the site, while blower guns are fun in their own right, they currently have far too many drawbacks (including air inefficiency and wasteful gas usage, pressure/rate-of-fire coupling, overly-high(and non-adjustable) rates-of-fire and ammo usage, and (very importantly) no selective-fire and/or semi-auto modes; those are just a few of the issues). The Ajax series employ unique constructions that we believe represent the most air efficient automatic airgun systems ever designed.
This particular unit launches round shot (BBs) of .177 caliber and various composition (steel, for instance); more info can be found on the sidebar and website. Some of our variants employ different calibers and/or shot types, but .177 spherical is excellent for everyday shooting.
The X177 variant shown here is just one example; units have been built in several different form factors with a range of ergonomics, magazine setups, etc.
This particular unit launches .177 cal round shot (.177 BBs of various types); additional info can be found on the sidebar and at the website. Some of our variants employ different calibers and/or shot types, but BBs are excellent for everyday shooting.
This is one possible implementation; versions of the X177 can (and have) been built in other form factors. Such is more defined by materials selection, cost constraints, builder capabilities, etc. In this variant, certain compromises were made to keep the costs low and the implementation relatively simple (achievable by the enthusiast with limited resources and no special equipment).
Nope, it's not a modified paintball gun. There are actually no off-the-shelf and/or pre-assembled mechanisms used in the propulsion system (all such are built from scratch). Our unique patent pending methods are believed to comprise the most air efficient automatic airgun systems in existence.
It's not yet available (but hopefully will be soon)... You can visit the site (and/or send us an e-mail) for more information (see the vid description)...
Max fps depends on the model and build; some Ajax variants can drive projectiles well past the speed of sound (>1200fps). The unit shown was not designed for that (it's designed for DIY, low cost, etc.) but still has very respectable performance (as is) and can technically shoot much faster if unrestricted (>800fps, and possibly significantly higher, with some adjustments).
I know you want to sell the plans, but can you at least say what sort of valve system it uses? and you said it runs around $50 for each gun. are you considering the tank part of the gun? because HPA bottles are expensive. so either its not HPA or its not part of the gun. how many shots per tank do you get?
I know im asking a lot of questions and you dont want to give away too much, but im interested in those things. Valve/ mechanism, airsource, rounds per fill.
The specific gun you see in the video cost around $50 in parts. And in this case, that includes the tank (but not things like ammo, air, tools, etc.). All parts were bought new and they are readily available. We have built units for significantly less and for much more, depending on the build (and scrounging ability).
...can't talk about the specifics yet (i.e., valve system and/or air sources). Rounds per fill depend on the tank (the tank shown in the video is greater than 100 rounds). Standard HPA (or CO2) tanks are not required, they are optional (but will obviously raise the cost). We think this is one of the most 'air efficient' automatic airguns ever designed; you may see commercial units before plans.
No estimate yet... If plans are released they will probably be out sometime before our commercial units, but it's also possible you may see commercial units first.
The Ajax X177-X doesn't shoot coins; the video shows it hitting a dime edge-on (with a BB) at 23 meters. The Ajax series (depending on the version and implementation) shoot a variety of ammo (including BBs, multi-caliber round-shot and pellets). This Ajax X177-X variant shoots BBs. Please refer to the description and/or visit the site for more information.
Thanks! They are not in production yet, but possibly soon. Basically, the device shown here was designed to be consumer built; it was an experimental prototype built in line with our construction plans. We are currently working on several production prototypes, and are evaluating certain Ajax variants for limited production runs or possibly semi-custom units. Stay tuned, as we are planning on making an exciting announcement in the near future.
Good vid. This is exactly what we want, a hi-cap mag and high ROF auto. I want it now. About the plans, how difficult is it to build and for how much?
Thanks! Glad you like it! Difficulty in building depends on your skills and goals. This one took less than a day after getting the parts, but I had already built several. Cost also depends on goals, materials, desired performance, options, etc. I've built versions for under $30 in parts with some scrounging; the one shown here cost around $50 in parts and I bought almost everything new. If you want to get fancy, go extreme power, use exotic materials, etc., then it's going to cost more.

@WhiskySAMS Certain airguns are apparently legal in Germany without a license, namely those limited to 7.5J (~213 m/s w/std 0.177 BBs). Nice video! Are they in production yet?
