Ok, I have an HP Pavilion DV5 with an ATI Radeon 3200HD, and I want to overclock it; not exactly sure what numbers are right, and what are dangerous, I'm curious. So I downloaded AMD OverDrive, wasn't able to change anything unless I'm an idiot. So I also downloaded PowerTechUp, but it looks a lot different than in this video. Anyways, default says 62.2 for engine, Memory clock says 400.00mhz, so I went up to 500Mhz for memory, then my engine went down to 62.2. I don't know what these mean.

WHATS THE difference between the 3200 HD and the normal 3200. I have the 3100 and read its a under-clocked 3200 so I'ma overclock it when I find out how and play GTA IV (I have it on ps3 also, so stfu)

highest i can overclock it with powerstrip is to 667mhz, some people the card will go to 1100mhz but i cant put it that high

some computer companies like gateway or hp make it so that software cannot change the mhz of your cpu,. gpu, or ram. they do this so the consumer dosent break the computer in the process of overclocking.

Yeah, i only found this out maybe 3 months ago after months of trying to overclock a stock acer Motherboard...but doesn't matter anymore because i just oredered my parts for my PC today, has the same onboard GFX as the one in this video

I don't know, man, but search on google for "ATITool", that should work.

Do it in small 5 or 10 MHz increments and keep going until atitool starts showing artifacts, then back down until it's stable.

@vvbee and halo trial gets artifacts every once in a while but only if i am deep in a building once i got a scrambled up screen for a split second some times it is very minor and some times it is really bad. and i hate that so guess what I DELETE THE GAME HAHAHAS then no more artifacts for me but battlefield1942 runs fine with no artifacts at all which is odd

I don't know why, though, but in games anything over 800 MHz is almost transparent. The increase in speed is simply not there in the framerates. This GPGPU thing seems to scale up very well, but games.. no.

I usually run it at 800 if I need a speedup.

I had a quick look at some forums and it seems some people are overclocking their laptop 3200s with a program called AMD overdrive (look on google). Though I definitely would not recommend going for 1000 MHz on a laptop, might very well damage it.

I've been meaning to make a video of that game. COD4 actually runs pretty good even at 500 MHz, provided that you can deal with 800x600 or lower and not having shadows or aa on. I'll see how it runs that game overclocked and then get to making that video.
