  • She was a very funny lady!

  • !OMG! LUCY DIED!!! :O lol...I hope you know I'm joking haha

  • Lucille Ball will always be remembered forever, now she's w/Desi in heaven

  • i read that Gary Morton said when Lucy died she wanted to be w/Desi

  • She died 2 yrs before i was born. She is my favorite actress & Desi is my favorite actor. I read that she died of a broken heart b/c Desi was dead.

  • @ilovelucyfan7 He died from cancer...damn cancer sticks!

  • I am 14 years old and i started watching I Love Lucy on here 100th birthday. For some reason the tv was on Hallmark and i looked up and i saw her vitameatavegimin bit and cried laughing! I LOVE LUCY! </3 RIP

  • She was even on one of the episodes of the Three Stooges! I still enjoy watching I Love Lucy to this day after all those years. Truly a ledgend!

  • I'm 22 years old and I've been watching Lucy since I was practically born. My mom absolutely loves this woman, it being her favorite show of all time. Needless to say, I fell in love with Lucy myself and I'm glad my mom played this show when I was little. No matter how many times I watch her, it will always make me laugh to the point of tears, as if it were the first time seeing an episode. She was a genius. What I would give to go back into time and be in the audience of her show.

  • The best thing about Lucy is that everyone knows who she was, either because they grew up with her or their parents or grandparents did. I'm 20 and I'm not afraid to admit that I love all things Lucy even though it's beyond my generation.

  • I'm 20 years old and started watching I love Lucy when I was 14-15 years old every morning on the weekends because my mom would always have TV Land on. Eventually I got the collectors edition for Christmas one year and to this day I fall asleep watching I love Lucy almost every night.:) It makes me happy scrolling through the comments to see kids as young as/younger than me are still watching her as well. Now that's a role model. I love Lucy :D

  • So Sad... RIP - I LUV LUCY

  • Gosh,I remember,as a kid in the 60s,watching "I Love Lucy" when it aired on British tv.The only sound you would hear each saturday morning was the laughter. As a kid I didn't always 'get' the subtle nuances, but it didn't matter, the show simply made me roar with laughter.

  • I was at work when my mother called to tell me Lucy had died. I was stunned. All my life there had always been a Lucy. God, she was funny.

  • We all miss and love you Lucy Rest In Peace. August 6, 1911 - April 26, 1989

  • R I P LUCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • :( RIP

  • :( I LOVE YOU LUCY! D':

Rest in sweet peace Lucy! you are forever loved!

  • I've been watching some videos with some of the actors I grew up watching as a child. Makes me sad that so many are gone.

  • I was so shocked by this news in April 89..... I lived in Dever at the time and her death made the front page. The Rocky Mountian News headline read WE LOVED LUCY!

  • Still jabs you like it was yesterday doesn't it?

  • I was a kid when she died, but it broke my heart even then. I'll never forget seeing a massive banner in front of a theater in Hollywood that said "We loved you, Lucy." It made me cry. It brings a tear just thinking of it.

  • wow Bob Hope got it right on the button when he said I love Lucy would keep playing long before they died.

  • @edwardcullen62019011--yes sir, that's the one!

  • 1:14 couldn't be more true... 2:18 my grandma said the first thing she ever watch on a tv was an episode of i love lucy :)

  • She is missed, I grew up watching her and I enjoy watching her shows on DVD. I'm 44 yrs old and still enjoy her shows and allways will.

  • I still miss her so much!

  • Anyone notice @ 4:02 gas was $1.29 back then? I'm sure people were complaining about how high that was, I'm also sure those same people wish they'd kept their mouths shut!

  • i recently was indroduced to her shows ah its amazing I Love Lucy

  • I cried when I first heard that.

Grew up watching Lucy and It was like losing a very close family member (=^[

  • I remember the day that Lucy died, it was two days before my 9th birthday. I'd never watched the show and I asked my Granny who she was, she told me and that was the start of my life long love of her. And everytime some thing major in my life happens I endup watching a show, the night my Granny died I watched the Scottish esp. I love Lucy forever!

  • They lived on our tv set, in our livingroom for almost 50 years. In many ways; they were role models for the American life-style.

  • i'm 27 over and over watching i love Lucy i laugh.she's so funny.Bob Hope was right about I Love Lucy. You can still watch lucy any where you go today.

  • I'm 33 I watch her till this day.

  • Im 29 now but i remember growing up watching I love Lucy with my mother who just recently passed away. My mother was always smiling and laughing especially times when we would watch her favorite show together. Thank you Lucy for bringing so much laughter and joy into both our lives. I could just picture Lucy and my mother Elsie laughing together somewhere up there in heaven.

  • I never met her. She actually died long before I was born. But I miss her.

  • LOL My goodness, when you die...you're suddenly the "GREATEST" no matter how bad your TV shows were during the last part of your life. I adored Lucy's 1950s run...but even here she and Desi let it go on way too long. Her 1960's TV shows were painful embarrassments. Nobody could say "no" to her when they should of.

  • @millerlight789 shelter more. we all gotta die. we all get old. no one escapes death, absolutely no one.

  • Greatest comedian of all-time! I Love Lucy! Lucy's death was tragic and big news, but she's remembered for her great talent of making people laugh!

  • we mis you lucy so so much .... awasome comedisnt woman . I´ll always love your talent ... irepetible , tu compañia hacia felices a millones de personas . RIP.

  • Still missing you Lucy. No one still has ever come close to you.

    Rest In Peace sweetheart.

  • A different world. These days people get wind of a famous persons death so quick that it's old news by the end of the day and no one seems to care. Steve Jobs, Gaddafi, Heavy D, Joe Frazier and others deaths were nothing but quick news flashes on facebook statuses before someone posts "give it a break" and the posts stop in an hour or so.

The fact that someone stopped their car and their day just to show respect is pretty far out.

  • Long live Lucy

  • 2:16 Even a month before her death at 77 she still had great legs.

  • Thanks tim Heidecker, really a great loss

  • @xdeuceswild81xx true; everybody Loves Lucy, Raymond perhaps

  • Tim heidecker brought me here lol

  • @RSCyeaaah BALL

  • Thanks for letting me know about this @timheidecker, my mind has been everywhere and I must have missed this on the news

  • This is so sad! :( She was a fantastic actress and comedian!

  • This gave me shivers and I already obviously knew she's been dead for years! :( She was amazing.

  • I wish I could say I was alive back when TV didn't suck, but I'm only 16. :/ "I Love Lucy" has always been one of my favorite shows.

  • Only 14, and she is my favorite actress

  • @DesotellRacing62 shes my favorite actress too

  • I Love Lucy, so much, that i have an I love Lucy tattoo on the back of my neck. love heart and all. x R.I.P Desi, Lucy, Vivian, and William :)

  • Just a teen, and I Love Lucy, Lol, i have the collectors item, and i saw her dress on universal studios. whatta freak 8)

  • I can still remember when I learned that Lucy died. It was like losing an old friend. If there is an afterlife, she would be one of the first people I would like to meet. She sure has made a lot of people laugh and feel better!

  • what episode was at 3:26?

  • Im 13 and I Love Lucy!! She will be forever the greatest actress of all time! You have a very special place in my heart Lucy!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 !!

  • A few of these news outlets seem to be EAGER to report this... Like, tone it down a little. It was a very sad day.

  • @PhantomLyric You have to remember, there was no facebook, or twitter, or aol, or any kind of online news in 1989. This was TV news in its heyday, when most people didn't know the day's BIG story until they watched the news at 6pm

  • @pk33617 I'm aware of that, but reporting death should never be a marathon or something to be excited about, especially when the person is so beloved.

  • My mom cried when Lucy died. I felt like I lost a cool grandma. RIP Lucy <3

  • i wonder how shell react if poeple are stille waching her show all the way to 2011

  • "..long after we're gone, I Love Lucy will still be playing all over." lol Bob Hope was right, it is still playing all over and I hope it will still be on air long after we are gone. Long LIve Lucy!!!

  • 4:21 he just quoted her show

  • Damn, mostly everyone on this tape is dead. From Lucy to Peter Jennings to George Burns.

  • Oh Lucy. You were/are so fabulous. Thank you for making me laugh all my life.

  • "Lucy's gone but se'll always be with us. I love Lucy, everybody loves Lucy." Crying like a baby<3 She's my inspiration<3

  • Well bob was right I'm 18 and they are long gone and It's still on tv and It's my absolute favorite show

  • I live in Jamestown NY, Lucy's hometown,

  • Jim Henson also passed away the same day - I remember where I was when I heard the news.

  • @on9488549 Actually, Jim Henson did not die this same day. Jim Henson died May 16, 1990. Lucy died April 26, 2989 which is roughly two weeks or so earlier. Jim Henson was one of my personal heros along with Lucy.

  • this made me cry :'( Lucy deserved to die the most painless way possible . i absolutely adore her . Lucy, you will always be the queen of television. i have every single one of the i love lucy dvd's. you are still missed. Happy 100th birthday (which was yesterday) . <3 <3 <3

  • Happy Birthday Lucy!!! Im 16 and have been watching I Love Lucy ever since I was a little girl and am still watching it. It saddens me to think all the best things in life begun before I was born. I feel like I was born in the wrong century. I truly do Love Lucy<3

  • Happy Birthday Lucy!

  • Happy birthday Lucy! I am 12 and even I love you way more then I would love Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez you are my rolemodel!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy 100'th birthday! We all -3 Lucy!!!!!

  • Happy Birthday Lucy!!!!!!

  • She died at 77.. and im watching it at the 77,777 count of views. This woman was the only thing that was, and will always be, the only completely good part of my childhood... Bucket list: Visit the grave of Lucielle Ball and thank her for my laughter :)

  • The greatest thing about her is that because of her talent, she NEVER gets old.

Her comedy was clean and true, and the best that has ever been.

I am 46 yrs old and I grew up watching her show...all shows she had.

The earth lost an angel when we lost Lucy.

    She will NEVER be forgotten.

    I Love Lucy!!!

  • I miss Lucy, she was such a great person...

  • i'm 20 years old, and have watched I Love Lucy ever since i can remember.. i adored her! i still adore her and my 8 month old daughter seems to love her already, as well! she never watches the tv, until lucy comes on. its the only thing that ever keeps her attention.. i look forward to the mornings where she wakes me up and crawls into bed with me to watch I Love Lucy, like i did with my mum.

  • at 4:22 who is that actor?

  • @turbobuick33 --that is GEORGE BURNS. You must be young? There was a day when there was "The Geore Burns & Gracie Allen Show" back in the 50's. Burns died in 1996. Go to wikipedia and type in "george burns".

  • Comment removed

  • @phillyvideofan im probably younger than anyone here so correct me if im wrong... was the geore burns and gracie allen show the one where at the end the guy would say "say goodbye gracie" and she would say goodbye gracie

  • @turbobuick33 He was famous in the 1930s-50s as George Burns and Gracie Allen (his wife). In the 1970s he became popular again with the film "Oh God". Try to rent this on netflix .

  • If she's alive today, she would have been 100 years old. We Love Lucy.

    Ewww!

  • @pernelldh she would have been 100 on saturday 8/6 she had the same birthdya as my great grandma

  • Ew, Lynn's sweater is really ugly.

  • I will always Love Lucy!!!!!

  • SO SAD.. EVEN TODAY 2011

  • I did not like comedies when I was younger. However, I watched an episode where Lucy and the gang were barricaded behind the apartment door with guns drawn (as I recall). The entire cast had good chemistry!

Lucille Ball also had a Wonderful Business head but did not flaunt her business acumen.

  • She was so much fun. She really made the world a nicer place with her humor.

  • This year marks the 100th anniversary of Lucille Ball's birth. And Ronald Reagan's. But Reagan outlived Ball by 5 years(Her fellow actor and our former U.S. President died in 2004). I remember Ball working with the Three Stooges in 1934 in the comedy short THREE LITTLE PIGSKINS. She played the girlfriend of one of a trio of gangsters. I also remember her hosting THE BEST OF THREE'S COMPANY in 1982. Only series star the late John Ritter appeared with her in the original footage.

  • thanks for taking us back in time via the old VHS-- These are priceless times and moments of our lives- Lucy was the queen!

  • @gamergirilsawsome, @darkteddybear22, @thedianam87, @aitraining, @vitoduval, Interesting business pioneer, with Desilu Productions the people doing the work of the place were the owners. Not quite a Work Co-op, but close.

  • im 23 and all i know is i love lucy...everyone talks about all their childhood characters.....all i can talk about is lucy. i love her i only wish i couldve seen her live or met her. all her episodes, lost episodes and pilot i have saved. i think "i love lucy" will be on forever. <3

  • Lucille Bowl?

  • I don't know if Lucille Ball met Queen Elizabeth, but the Queen admired her work.

  • Lucy was a HEAVY smoker and drinker. God bless her, but she wasn't going to live to 100. Loved her but sadly making it to 77 was impressive.....

  • WOW - She's been dead for 25 years? Time goes so fast. [sigh]

  • @aitraining She's been dead for 22 years..

  • @sb08fosho Oh sorry. Not 25 years. 22 Years....... R u taking OCD medication?

  • I would have cried so hard at this time. But at least Lucy and Desi are back together again in Heaven!

  • @TFrOcks25 Are you kidding me he was an abusive fuck, why the hell do you think she left his ass.

  • I'm 19 and I can honestly say that I have seen every episode of I love Lucy that has been aired on tv. Lucy will always be the queen of comedy. Watching the show always brings a smile to my face.

  • She is the ONLY actor I cried about when she died. I really cried, so, so hard.

  • There will never be another Lucy

  • I always had a fantasy of buying a small condo and make it look just like the old "I Love Lucy" appartment.....that would be awsome. Do it up all mid 1950s

  • I'm 21 but have always loved I Love Lucy. RIP 22 years later.

  • im 16 years old and i grew up watching I love lucy with my grandma who adored her as much as i did. we love you lucy<3

  • I was born just a few months after her death. I so wish I were born sooner, so I had some kind of chance to meet her. She is my idol. I love her so much. I wish to meet her children someday. That would truly be an honor. I plan to go to her hometown in New York as well. I LOVE YOU LUCY!!!

  • I'll never forget that day. It was one of my saddest ever.

  • Was celebrating my 20th Anniversary that day in Kansas. 9 years later, I divorced the cheating fool. A date I won't forget for many reasons.

  • well at least she lived an almost long life i think is pretty long!

  • The last reporter was the best, he got a tribute from God.

  • I was in college in my senior year, and remember being in the cafeteria for lunch when one of my friends came to tell me Lucy died. I immediately got up and walked as fast as I could to my dorm room to watch these news broadcasts. It made me cry, as the story was covered well into the night. The next day I went out and bought a rememberence magazine that was literally created over night, and gathered up the newspapers from the lobby where different city papers were. I still have all of them.

  • God bless her soul... she was wonderful xx

  • Nooooooo!!!! not my lucy :(

i was 6 on this day, i cried.

    love you lucy!

  • I remember also Gilda Radner died a few days after. sad times for our nation.

  • Always clean comedy! I remember seeing her on one of the Three Stooges shorts. I still enjoy watching her shows.

  • I grew up in the 60 and 70s and she was the most recognized person all those years, her and Jerry Lewis.

  • Thumbs up if this made you cry! :'(

  • To me she will always live on and never die. I Love Lucy is my favorite show and she is my favorite actress. She and Desi were a great team and the loves of each other life. Long live Lucy

  • R.I.P. =[ May she rest in peace!!!

  • I was a little twelve-year-old boy recording I Love Lucy every night in his room in 1995. I loved watching them regularly on my videos. I even went through my own little depression finding out this cast I loved from afar were all dead in real life, particularly Lucy. Even in death, Lucille Ball has made fans who will treasure her as those who loved her when she was alive. Everybody loves Lucy! <3

  • Watching her shows, I never think of her as having died. Watching this stuns me, for some weird reason!

  • Very sad. LB utterly changed the entire landscape of television. I shudder to think what TV would have been like had she never went into the business.

Kudos to her, as well as Desi Arnez, Vivian Vance, & William Frawley, too.

  • When did the Philly news start?

  • im only 35 and have loved her since my childhood regardless of troubled times in their relationship it will always be remembered as the best and most romantic in my heart and mind:)
