The basis of this argument is the unsupported assertion that the owner and the thing that is owned must be distinct. This vid is just an example of the petitio principii logical fallacy or "begging the question" since it asserts the conclusion as a premise.
Another way to approach this is to ask, "Are human beings property?" Proponents of self-ownership wish to exercise right of exclusion but also trap themselves within the market. This ideology creates a dangerous moral hazard by giving someone the right to sell themselves. Basically, indentured servitude. Certainly we all want liberty, but this particular road is a dead end. Remember that a lie repeated a thousand times is still a lie.
self ownership makes perfect sense... the conscience (awareness) is the observer/owner of the mind & body... theres nothing religious or esoteric to it, its just how things are.
Self-ownership never made sense to me. It implies some odd experience of the self split apart from the self & one part then taking ownership of the other part as if it were a slave with the will as the whip the slavemaster uses.
The idea of self-ownership is closer to being a religious concept. I suspect this is one of the points that attracts many conservative Christians to a libertarian worldview. Self-ownership makes perfect sense according to conservative theology.
Own is on Loan. All One is Alone. Al Capone is A lone cap. Ownership is a "racket". A racket is a matrix, like a crisscross pattern, or an electric fence. The movie "The Matrix" = Chicago. Capone thrives in Chicago. Al Pacino plays "The Godfather". Al Pacino is Al Capon I. The emergence of self identity and property/realty/reality are matrixic phenom. All clues are given in the lyrics to "The Friends of Mr. Cairo". "Father love..(works) for Mother". Mother=Matrix. Self is Total Movie.
