  • nice one love the simple drum loop of dnb ^^

  • crappy cam quality but damn epic beats

  • What are you using to do the reverse and note repeat stuff? Are you turning on and off an effect?

  • @emoboi86 hi, yes that's it, the pads turn on or off an effect depending on their value. you can use the pads in toggle mode as CC or note on/off depending on what best fits your software. if i'm unclear, its because i just woke up, yet i hope i did answer your question there :p

  • @strrrangemen Ya you did! But now my question is what effects were you turning on and off XD

  • i don't get it to work for fl studio :(

  • wow that was great

  • can this beast be used to control logic pro in the same way?

  • make it metal, then youre awesome. solo please... have you heard of buckethead? look him up and look up zachary spencer on myspace.

  • @Powerslave2493 actually everything is midi right there. keys and buttons send midi notes to the software on different channels. and the knobs send control change signals on a specific channel too. so maybe i didn't get you there but i'm actually triggering everything via the pcr , nothing other than midi comes out from it.

i hope some of my answer is at least helpful / not too confusing. you can message me if you need more, this video is old now, i'm building some new setups but still can reply

  • nice work :)

  • yeah sounds really good!

  • yo that shit was rediculous. good shit my dude.

  • Great!

  • you do know it is just a midi controller ... ot the thing creating the sound ... it just controls the sound modulations (e.g. cuttoff) via midi ... the thing making the sound is just a vst on abelton live.

  • The Aphrodite!

  • sounds like aphrodite! good shit mate keep at it

  • yo man!!!

  • WAW

  • hey you got the same midicontroller as me! haha. This is awesome, how do you link patterns to your midicontroller? I use FL-studio.

  • hehe. I've also got a pcr 300 :) n also use FL studio. What I do is to program my drums and patterns n what not, and then make sure that the pads are set as buttons in the control map, and just assign them to the channel 'power' (the green dot) and just lay the patterns out in the playlist, so they just turn on and play wen u press the pads. hav fun :)

  • DJ pcr 300

  • can i install ableton live on multiple computers?

  • yes if u have the disc/exe.

Mainly because it doesnt use a serial.

  • Like Aphrodite Sound)))

    Good!!!

  • nice job that was pretty aweome! and thats one awesome keyboard

  • its not a keyboard xD its a midicontroller

  • nice:)

  • AMAZZZINNGG !!

  • Comment removed

  • and what programe you do you use?

  • that's the thing man... if we don't both use the same i'll have trouble telling you...

I use Ableton Live and you don't really need the edirol's manual for that just 2 or 3 tutorials on ableton will do cause it's just sample triggering.

But since i don't know what program you are using i won't be of much more help :(

  • hey man can you maybe tell me how to conect A sound to the buttons A1- A8, I dont have a dutch manual en I realy can not get it man, thats the only thing I would like to know so if you please can tell me how to do it youre the king, GREAT sound by the way thanx man

  • i cant get my pcr 300 working with ableton live :( great video btw

  • awesome dude

  • is it possible to do this with an axiom 25 ??

  • yes.

  • Skills !

  • Really nice dude u should make it a lot better and then it would be a real kick-ass track.

  • Wiring in through Live is the only way these days! Ableton rools all DAW.

Wanna colab on a DnB tune? Swap off some Ableton files to make a piece a la Gorillaz!

really nice breaks at the 3:20 mark btw.

  • how do you connect the board to the pc?

via midi or usb? and what programm did you use?

    great song!

  • cool jaj luxus

  • can the pads be programmed to play more than one note, like chords?

  • some pads can, some not...

but if you want to play dnb, most of the tunes and things are "monophonic" (1 tone per synth, which a synth can have 2 or more waves ;) )

so don't break your brain trying to search for a chord player pad :P

  • ( russian language (transcription) )

Pacan dajut zharu! Super!!! Mne o4en' ponravilos'!!!

    SUPER!

  • FUCKING GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • phatt

  • Awesome. :D

  • OHHHHHHH HOW DO YOU DO THAT?????!!!!!

  • Noyce stuff, was creative. And fun to watch.

    Well done.

  • really cool done^^ the bass is really cool^^

  • cool. weird. but Cool

  • niiice. catchy stuff. more breaks next time though!

  • Do yo play reverse, granning effects in live or are they sequenced and you just launch them when you want?

I'm trying to be more "live", I mean to not to compose all beats : using one basic beat and make it different using effects and my Behringer BCR2000.

Try to find things like Liveslice from Livelab, this one is great!

  • I use bcr 2000 too for live...

I make patterns and switching between them by using num pads...

Live impros are like mixing two Unidentified chemicals :-)

  • not wanting to offend but>>>>>>>>>>be more original coz we all got somethin special to express.avoid de clique.take a trip whatever.the general idea is good.thanx

  • That Dope ! I like the bass. Maybe more deeper. But still, its fresh. Good work!

  • fkn pwn

  • where did u learn how to use all this stuff?!

coz i always wanted to play midi keyboard linked to VSTs and softwares like Fruity Loops, Cubase... Can you answer me in pvt too?!

  • How much do these keyboards usually go for? because I've always wanted to mix beats and do other things.

  • this one cost me 200euros, 170$ maybe, but keep in mind it's only a midi controller. ( i realize a lot of people forget this part :P )

  • i get it for about 150euro ;)

  • a good keyboard or synth to start with is the microkorg.

but if you wanted to do the drums and mix beats etc you would need a computer music production workstation, like ableton live, fl studio or cubase.

you would also need one of those to work a midi controller, and i would say a quite reasonable midi controller would be the korg micro kontrol, or pad kontrol.

    in a bit.

  • Very nice. I was like "eh..." until the pickup. Very nice!

  • nice, i also got a pcr 300 n i love dnb ;p what vst u using?

  • this is nice track also :)

  • AW-FREAKIN-SOME!!!

  • Niiiiiiiiice!

  • very nice, i also have a pcr 300 =)

  • E-qube . ur getting this soon !! wallah la aneek omak . hahahaha . love you dawg . this is brilliant .

  • this is nice man am so gettin this soon

  • TUTORIALS ? please ;)

  • sounds abit like get wild by rascal and klone

  • which sample pack(s) did you use?

  • well in this vid, i only use samples for the beat, and i found them on the net, but i can't remember where i got them since i just keep them on a CD somewhere in my room. Some are amen breaks and some are my original work or recycled beats

  • recently purchased PCR-300. it's great for a midi controller but should have bought xiosynth instead. it's a midi controller and standalone synth. sigh...

  • true playas style!

  • Hey do you guys know how to make the pads more sensitive in PCR 300/500/800? I have to punch very hard to make it sound good. Whether the velocity is fixed or not these tiny pads are not responding like Axiom and padkontrol pads. Please help if you have some tips. Thanks.

  • hey i jsut bought one and i'm wondering which program you linked it with... cakewalk?

  • no actually i work with ableton live. it is i think the fastest program to link all your midi controls to your midi plugins or anything you want, giving you the best control over the sound you produce, to this day i haven't found better. But this is for live, i still prefer to produce with fruity loops which can also be used live but it's less attractive...

  • Does FL give you better control than AL for composition?

I ask because I've been using FL myself and was curious to look at Ableton Live, but I don't do any sort of live work (just in studio).

  • I think for studio work, Fl remains the best.they both have what is called in FL "automation clip". with AL it's more like a simplified 'Cubase' display when you go in arrangement view. But they've both 'unlimited' control over your midi plugins. They just have different ways of dealing with music.

    Anyway, stay with FL.

  • Sounds good, thank you!

  • fuckin awsome!

  • i like ur stuff a lot man ur sound is similar to squarepusher a little i enjoyed the vid keep it going man

  • is this controller good 4 minimal / electro music? or better something else should i buy?

    btw: sweet sng ;)

  • I think it's great for what you want to do... but that's my opinion

  • you're using dBlue Glitch too, aren't you?

(free vst plugin for anyone interested, fekin sweet ass plugin!, google it)

  • That's right !

  • I like it much from 2:16 (where the melody is almost complete ;) )

  • i like it, its good :-)

  • NIIIIICEEE !!! 6/5

  • Like it! i have the pcr-m1, altho I dont use the triggers alot, everything i need is in Reason 4!

  • Nice!

What program, or module, where you running that through?

  • you can have that info at the end of the video's description ;)

  • Can you make drum tracks with the PCR-300?

    Nice video.

  • edirol's PCR 300 (along with the 500 and 800) is a midi controller. it doesn't do anything by itself. so that'll depend on what software you use it with (or other midi hardware)

  • IMPRESSIVE! tu ta turutu ta!tu ta turutu ta!tu ta turutu ta!tu ta turutu ta! nice!. ;)

  • to clarify: when the chord changed, it kept looping after you let go of the key (or pad. couldn't tell which). so i just wondered how you did that :)

  • i'm using live, so i just trigger things (i prepared the clips earlier) and i like to control my effects with the pads and knobs and what i do is assign beat changes and chord changes on the keyboard itself. so if you look carefully i just press a key to go to one of my clips then it plays in loop and i don't have to keep the finger on it... i think i've put the first clip on a C key. does that answer your question?

  • oh ok, yeah i see what you mean. i'm trying to do stuff like that too with my pcr-500. triggering beats and clips as well as samples. i just got it and i haven't got a sequencer yet, just using sonar le that came with it and also tracktion (the price is right for tracktion;))

  • meh, i hate that when you write this huge thing and then it gets erased somehow. grr.

anyway, i just said great song, better than yr last. so yr improving :)

i just wondered how you did the chord change there. it seemed like you did it on the fly? or did you just trigger it with a key (or pad)

thx and keep it up. yr vidz are really helpful for beginners who don't know what the hell they're doing lol. ignore dumb comments ppl make and just keep it up ;)

  • wait i wrote something and it's not here ;/

  • Hah, I loved the melody, which started in the beginning as one tone, but developed through piece... Very nice.

But the drumloop in the beginning was changing too often, kinda disturbing...

And You should've put some more sounds, like a background or so. And some real nice bass.

Kinda shallow, but I liked it.

  • I Mean On The Pads

  • the beat (and everything else) depends on the software you use. so i could give you hints on ableton live since it's the one i use but that's all i can tell you for now :/

  • Hi, I Have A PCR-800 and I want to know, how do make the beat play without you holding the button?

  • hi i was wondering if you could help me, im just getting into d&b productionand wanna buy a keyboard is the one your using a good one to buy? should i get a drum machine to go with it or is everything i need onboard?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Well this keyboard has nothing on board. What i mean by that is that it's just a midi controller : it does nothing by itself. so you'll have to have a 'drum machine' or something using midi to control it with... or like me, a computer!

  • very nice!

  • nice

  • HOw do you find the pads on this controller?

  • what do you mean? The pads can be adjusted via the editor given with the pcr. if you meant something else leave me a message i'll be happy to help! :D

  • I mean how do the pads feel as far the sensitivity or compared to you other trigger style pads (e.g. MPD24, Trigger Finger, PadKontrol). Can you list you hardware required to run this style of keyboard, I assume it's connected via USB, but do you need a special sound card to solve any latency between the controller and CPU?

  • actually the pads are not pressure sensitive. this is important to note. you have to choose the velocity value when it's ON or OFF when you set it up. So it's completely different from the akai Mpd24 which IS pressure sensitive (but if you talk about "feel" , i'd prefer to have my pcr300 pads than the akai mpd24 ...) .

  • And yes it's connected via USB. And the soundcard is up to you Because it really depends on the software, the plugins you use, your CPU, RAM, and all. So all i can tell you is i have a M-Audio audiophile 2496 with 1G of RAM, 3Ghz, and my latency is very low. with a lot of things running, i can still be under 10ms.

  • Thanks for that...I like the look of the PCR-300/500 series because of the all the assignable knobs & sliders, split keyboard, aftertouch, etc. I was looking at the M-Audio Axiom Series...but the buttons were too hard and only had 8 of them...and they don't have the sliders on the Axiom25.

Yeah, I was looking at the M-Audio Audiophile USB and MobilePre USB (cause I have a laptop), just wanting your opinion. Thanks again!! Keep on keepin' on. I dig the sounds you're producing!!
