  • make? I meant male Asian actor. Klingons sabatoged my keyboard.

  • I think they did real well. The make Asian actor was real good and put emotions in but without over acting, well so far as I have seen. The rest is pretty casual but no over acting so far.

  • Oh but great vid just kiding on my crude humor post. Hey this stuff is WAY better then what I could do.

  • I'm going to desighn a phalic n ball class ship as they are headed in that direction anyways.

  • Become the character and let it be convincing in a natural way, so don't try too hard. The art of acting is not the literal part, but making us believe that the character is real and not acting. If it is not coming from within you then you will be just that...a character living in a pipe dream. Best of luck. And when I say you, I mean in general of all characters.

  • Lame

  • I enjoyed it right up until those two guys having a picnic by the tree stump and pretending they were shooting things.

  • Its free.. dont watch it? no really if you hate the damn thing. I think the LAST thing the sci fi community needs is another hyper critical non fan of the genre.

  • Just out of curiosity, is this the first episode?

  • i missed out on having a wank because of this crap. my fat gf is home now :(. i hate my life

  • @TheHouse230 I like plump red head chicks...I wonder.....

  • The captain looks like he'd be more at home in the Mirror universe...

  • The Uniforms and acting need some work. Some potential there with the story, but it's the little things that will make or break this.

  • and actually the SF costumes are adapted well. they fit a mix of VOY & TNG "future starfleet' as well as 29th century timeline uniforms. the badge looks the the former yet modified!

  • omg unclench your sphincters... its decent production values for a fan film.. um go take a look at TOS or early TNG,.... kinda crappy fx... not everything HAS to be exact canon ..otherwise there'd be no star trek 2009 film........

  • I kinda really like how dry and dark this looks! Love the uniforms - ditch the intro though. Try to bring in a new spin on the show's universe, rather than standard neutral zone tensions.. Maybe we can expect some Starfleet factional infighting? Berman's Treks set the stage for a factional Starfleet.. 100 years on, one might expect this to be failing?..

  • so this takes place in the prime universe sometime after spock went into the alternate timeline?

  • Visually very well done, apart from the uniforms, which don't look very starfleet-like. But it overall seemingly doesn't fit into the ST universe very well

  • @SolarAlliance well it is the 25 century... 100 years after the next generation

  • @SolarAlliance Oh dear god. Another imaginative take on Star Trek ruined by FIAWOL Trekkies.

This is good work, so far. Interested in how the rest of the series develops.

  • I like it, I hope someone sees this and Offers to make this into a seroius. It needs work but its' good

  • So this is a fan film?

  • The Next Generation cams of an actor facing the camera were there because it was popular in 80s television. In real life people don't speak with their back to someone. Also, the uniforms look too much like some kind of futuristic biker outfit. The admiral doesn't look like someone who is a leader of others. Admirals don't have to defend themselves to subordinates. Other than that, I think this has the best production quality of any Star Trek fan fiction I've seen yet; you actually have sets.

  • . I'm also going to start my own little fan series. Check it out watch?v=qA_ehm7Zzw8&list=UU955L8TGwzXhVvg0r3_1jmw&index=1&feature=plcp I also have some star trek reviews on my channel as well.

  • nicely done.. but they are way to young for all the positions they are filling.

  • cloak and dagger? like

    superhero marvel? =D

  • Love it, yet... It seems as if the crew is a little young for their ranks.

  • Incredible. I love it. Production quality, effects and cast are awesome - oh, and the script is amazing. very polished. Very true to Trek, I like many fan films, but this is one of the best I've ever seen. The acting is extremely professional. All involved must be very proud. Can't wait to see more. Thanks, from one die hard Trekker - you help fill the void since no Trek is on TV these days,

  • so where do i sing up to be a cast member at?

  • Shiver

  • this is all fan-based and done in active work? not bad. how sad you ruined it with an overacting captain tho. but besides that: keep it up!

  • Katrassii -- wasn't that the Scaran base from the final episodes of Farscape?

  • jumping into slipspace seems more like the hole from Halo =D

  • It seem a bit rushed but, has potential. Watching the rest and will state my opinion then.

  • Not bad, not bad. I have the same opinion on fanfilms: Most of them are pure crap - but you guys have potential. Good Acting and good concept, BUT: you really should get the help of one of these billions of talented STAR TREK nerds who are capable of creating photorealistic CGI - and (what is quite easy by the way) you should do some color-grading of the materiel... it looks too amateurish... Keep up the good work!

  • This is the best fan made st I've ever seen. Good Job!

  • whats that wormhole thing fed finally managed transwarp?

  • where can you find episode 2?

  • Értékelem a próbálkozást, de ez elég gagyi. :S Mind a színészi játék, mind a cgi munkálatok.

  • Well done! Especially Elle Sonnet,S. Joe Downing and Ben Andrews all pulled it off , was good but noticed he has braces hope he can loose them for rest because not a bad thing but i think affects speech and ability to smile is as if he is trying to hide it which of course limits him but otherwise great! Also a lil better space graphics(not the ship) and of course better sets and they are there i think alltho know is budget and will get better! Well done :D

  • @Liketotallyoooo - Hehe... the braces came off last week : )

  • that fat bloke at the end of ep.1 sound´s like his battery´s flat..

  • what utter shit.

  • I don't remember any Federation ships coming out of wormholes during warp...-___

  • For the new Star Trek series, they need one more Enterprise. It just feels like Star Trek with the Enterprise.

  • hope they get some better actors, better sets, better uniforms, better.. well better all things.. cause its really not trekish at all..

  • I enjoy these fan films enough to say abrams and orci can keep THIER flick.

  • Almost like the real thing, very good though, keep on the good work!

  • Very good, and entertaining.

  • It has the feel of Porn Wars but with no porn

  • Best Fan series ever

  • @ArmondoeCruze88 are you deaf and blind?

  • Is that the Minstrel Boy I'm hearing?

  • Id say this is the best fan star trek film ever done. Its one step away from being just like the show. I would have said that they should have taken there ques from how the original show did there angles and that BUT beyond that its super good. costumes are top grade and sets and effects are also top grade. would be nice to have this as the next tv show. a ++++++++++

  • WHAT IS THIS SHIT!!! lol

  • wow, those uniforms are fucking awesome

  • needs to look more like star trek and less like Andromeda.

  • This is very good but some work needs to be done. First better camera angles and a little more practice in the acting on what the story is on. Also slow down some I think some of the things that were done in the movie where too fast I believe a little more time in some parts of your story would make this better. Other than that nice job on the video.

  • HAHAHAHAHA Rihannsu. XDDDDD Fell out of my chair laughing, lol.

*composes self* This pilot....blew my mind. The effects are phenomenal, the story is well-written, and the acting takes me back to old Trek. :') I demand more!!!!

    *gigglesnort* Rihannsu. x3

  • A decent fan made series,. True the acting isn't award winning brilliance, but the original series, let's remember wasn't completely either with a lot of their acting.

It would be fun to see this on tv.

  • A decent fan made series,. True the acting isn't award winning brilliance, but the original series, let's remember wasn't completely either with a lot of their acting.

It would be fun to see this on tv.

  • has the feel of a 90's syndicated scifi series.

  • like the ship looks like a cross between a warbird and an enterprise

  • Drink enough hateraid at least these guys produced something

  • This is making Star Trek Embarassing! I felt like shooting my self in the head while watching all these amateurs! talk about over acting!!!

  • @darkdavegmail cause you've made better and can judge other peoples work. Gotcha...

  • @Anarchist86ed Yes I have and will, I can do better with my eyes closed and my left hand tied to my right leg.

  • GET A LIFE!!!!

  • It will have to do untill CBS release a new Star Trek Series

  • Porn stars act better.

  • after seeing several fanmade star trek series / movies, they only complaint i have is using the wormhole instead of warp drive

costumes are diffrent but kinda cool , modern

and unlike some here , i find the acting very good

    keep up the good work!

  • hate the intro and wtf is with the ship jumping into HYPERSPACE!!!!!! this is supposed to be startrek not Babylon 5 FFS

  • @djhaedeon Maybe Starfleet invented something new

  • This looks great, but I can't get over the Captain wearing.... Pink!

  • I've seen ALL the Trek fan films/series etc... even the one by James Crawley who shoots the homage to classic trek and his as well as most of them are awful. Most trek fan films are atrocious because those making them know how to use a computer but can't write or act. Hence we get crap like "The New Voyages". Yours however, is SUPERB. You went out of your way to actually write a decent script and have the film crew try and "act". Your show is superior and you should be proud.

  • The captain is kind of a douche... but well done!

  • Generally good. Is something not quite professional with the lighting - too many shadows appearing, and on the walls in meeting rooms. Effects generally good, costumes, most sets more than acceptable.

  • not bad...

  • What is this crap

  • I didn't realise there were such amazing Star Trek fan films out there. Definitely getting my geek on with this!

  • Why is everyones voice fucked up and so many people have battle droids voice affect?good effects

  • They should make a Rifftrax of this garbage.

  • Nice work for a fan made show, the acting leaves a lot to be desired but the visuals are good for fan made.

  • I agree with all the other comments

    BAD ACTING

but this is a fan made movie/series so its expected.

we will just have to watch this untill CBS mans up and puts a proper Star Trek series into production (no JJ Abrahams crap)

  • I'm not sure what to say about this. Good on you for making an effort. Perhaps you could learn some basic editing and camera placement techniques to focus the story more. Way to much "shot-reverse-shot" here. The shots themselves are either a second or two too long or cutting abruptly. All this drives a stake through the heart of your story. The pacing is eratic too. Just because you can show a pretty special effect doesn't mean that you have too.

  • Much, much higher quality than most fan films. Love the new uniforms and tech. Keep up the good work!

  • Keep it up, But relax. By the way, where was the captain when his bridge was ripped off? Starfeet captains are usually on the bridge during combat......

  • @bobfrapples21 if it were a surprise attack he may have been in the head. i've never understood why they put the bridge on top other than for aesthetic reasons, functionally it's just not a good idea.

  • The effects are okay, but the acting is fairly poor. Many of the actors slur their speech; it doesn't sound professional at all.

  • THis is kinda cool. Feels more like a mirror universe, but acceptable.

  • WHOA! ... the heck is wrong with the transporters?

  • I reconize some of the actors from the "first" fan made voyager crew, before the current captain took charge.

  • Petty damn good.Actors need a little seasoning,but that'll come with

time and practice.A very nice Labor of Love.Keep it up.

    Engage number One.

  • Congratulations ^^

Can you put a version with subtitles ?

I'm French, i can understand but... only if i read the text :$

    Good Continuation

  • Acting is not so bad come on, it's just that you need moke to have a caracter in the actors. Like the captain is not acting captin like. He is more like a jerk red shirt pilot who was killed eventualy.

    GOOD Work i love it!

  • Acting- Bad

Ship- Not star trek like... looked like the outside was romulan and didn't like the inside look of the ship, but did like the holographic pop out screens used...

Uniforms- didn't like the design.... less leather could be used

pace- way way way too slow

  • Where did you get the sets?! Love the wormhole transport - professional production quality. How much did you spend on this project??

  • Haven't watched all yet but that opening shot was bleeding fantastic!

  • captain Derren Brown

  • Everybody relax. It's a fan film. The acting seems bad because the effects have been ramped up. Anyway the acting wouldn't bothered me if the pace had been picked up.

  • The acting is HORRIBLE. The visual effects, OK. The sound quality/music SUCKS - BAD. I hope an ACTUAL Star Trek series is coming soon, I miss it. Enterprise was good, but I found the lower level of technology frustrating at times.

  • the captain is a jerk

  • Not bad, you're clearly putting in a lot of effort. My criticism isn't one I expect to give fan series but you should limit your FX shots. An actor didn't appear in this episode until 3 minutes and 18 seconds in. That is a lot of wasted time for a new viewer.

The FX shots look nice given the limited budget but they don't mean anything if everything else happening isn't interesting. This is why Star Trek use a story hook before even playing the main titles. Just a thought.

  • Not bad for a fan made film!

  • Sounds autotuned.

  • This is surprisingly good. I've seen a lot of fan-made web series' but this is by far the best. I'm not all for 'new' adventures, but this has me interested. It would be cool if you guys were picked up and aired on television!

  • The Liason and Enemy Engagement Lieutentant actually sounds like Microsoft Anna!

It was a great idea - there NEEDS to be another Star Trek series - set in the Future (I hate ret-conning prequels) - but while the era is right and the effects are on a par with those from the "professional" series, the acting is, as many commentators have suggested, far too wooden and high-school-drama-y for my tastes...

  • Good storyline, I think it can lead places. Decent effects. Acting - mostly bad. The Admiral seems to be the only real actor, the Romulan was good, too. The Doctor overdid his accent and use of British colloquialisms. Also, whats with so many people lisping? Nice braces, Captain.

  • acting needs improvement. the setting could have been better as well, i think the captain should have been walking around cheeking up on his crew instead of waiting in a random corridor for people to come to him. the uniforms also need some work, it would help if you get rid of the fish net and leather.

  • The guy that plays the captain is clearly a dick head with no friends. His beard makes him look like a sex offender, and I'm pretty sure sex offenders wouldn't be allowed to be in Starfleet, let alone captain a vessel.

I honestly thought the whole thing was a joke, until I saw their reasonably professional website, which the cast probably designed whilst wearing their shitty, S&M uniforms and touching each others' necks.

  • @nprussell1 Lol... that's the most awesome review of my work on this yet... kudos... seriously funny dude.

  • You know, I'd buy Phoenix on Blu-Ray. Here are some fans who actually built the interior of the ship, plus, made some pretty damn awesome special effects. Not seen any other fans who got better stuff to show. Please keep making this show!

  • the captain is a fucking asshole

  • Nice.

I don´t think the actors are poor, like someone said before, it seemed almost real - just try to get a little more relaxed while acting.

At all, you did a good job, the effects are very good in relation to other fan productions and you´ve got great sets.

(Sorry for my english, I´m using Google-Translator =)

  • 2:16

Actually "Rihannsu" is a fanon interpretation of the word 'Romulan' in the Romulan language. Also, the new Romulan "Home" is on Rator III, as established by Star Trek Online.

  • captain is shit

  • THIS IS PURE AWESOMENESS

  • What happened to JP's accent?

  • Is the ambassador a Romulan who embraced logic?

  • Not bad ,best fan made trek! well done

  • are there gonna be any new episodes

  • I like it.

  • When are you going to the syfy channel?

  • how big is the ship?

  • @tarbis1 According to trekmovie(dot)com, she´s a total of 1,4km long!

Rather huge for a Federation ship but I like the idea future ships to create artificial wormholes for long distances and still use warp for a trip "around the block".

  • I'm going to both disagree and occassionally agree with TheWolfmanG. The acting isn't fantastic, but it's certainly not terrible. I was interested in the characters and wanting to know more about them from the first five minutes of the film.

It's EXCEPTIONAL. I'm in love with it! The quality is fantastic, the writing a little melodramatic in places but pretty damn good, and I'm very impressed with the sets and effects and yes, even the acting - as occassionally wooden as it might be. More!

  • @rebellious18 what drugs are you on? I agree that porn stars act better!

  • I like this very much. Great production values for a pro/fan effort, including sets, design, and post. Any complaints I could express are mostly about the symptoms of a team that has yet to learn how to produce television with each other in the smoothest possible way.

This is good new Trek and it deserves attention. I hope there's more to come.

Considering its background, I might actually need to read the more recent series fiction coming out of Pocket Books. And that's saying something.

  • Good production value, acting, special effects, etc., but doesn't feel like Star Trek, more like B5. It has a "kick ass and take names" feel about it, not really Star Trek as I know it.

  • nice actors, pretty women, but not my star trek :-(

  • get rid of that character with the drowing voice lol so annoying

  • Nice ship. Whats the class name if I may ask? And is there anywhere I can some beauty shots for a desktop background?

  • Responding to Tetsuyia...I worked on the project. All of the dialogue was ADR so the audio is considered the best by professional standards. The lighting was also done by a professional grip and the actors are local, professional actors in Seattle. As far as standing close to the camera I'm not sure what the issue is. Thanks for the comments and for your support of the production.

  • Get new recording equipment!

Fix the lighting on the set!

    Get professional actors!

DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO THE CAMERA!

  • what is that song called? 2:30 it sounds like when captain maxwell and cheif O'Brien was singing on the USS Phoeinix.

  • @MegaEnterprise1701 The Mistral Boy, its the same song.

  • @misinformeddave ah ok, who sung this version?

  • A+ for the effort and keep improving !

  • Wow - Overall Good job.

    Great production values.

Acting - well you did the best with what you had.

    Great story.

And one of the best looking starships in Star trek universe!

Points off though for buying into Abrahams version of the Romulans.

  • .... i like the ship

  • SABER? Marines?

  • English subtitles when they are speaking English?

  • Why the fuck in god's fucking name would you want your lead actor (the captain) to have a fucking lisp?

  • the return of the lens flare!!

  • So far the serie looks nice, but seriously, the special effects on the voices have to go!

  • this is an actual blasphemy....

  • WORST THING IV EVER SEEN

  • no offense but it looks quite a bit like the wormwhole from Spore @ 02:45

  • the vulcan didnt need to use the word "logical " in his first line, but apart from that its ok

  • I HATE THE MUSIC ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

  • if im not mistakiong that is a norway class ship

  • Wow this is well done, I'm quite pleasantly surprised!

  • Oh this is good. Almost on par with the DS9 Series in the early 90's. I'm fast becoming a fan of Phoenix.

  • WTF this is horrible

  • This is not what the star trek fans are worthy of. The Acting is terrible.... but the story is a possibility. I like the name phoenix... but the uniforms need more COLOR! And why is the Captain in PURPLE? WTF?

    Keep working on it.....

I say the NEXT TV Sires should be START TREK the ACADEMY!!!!

  • like this series so far,but I have a question does this takes place in the original timeline or the new timeline Capt.Picard & Co. created after the events of First Contact(movie) which essentially created a new time line for Star trek Enterprise.cause there Starfleet after the Xindi attack assigned Special Ops..you get the meaning.I hope is the original timeline.cause at the end of D.S.9 Lt.cmdr.Worf was promoted to Federation Amb. to Cronos.

  • @CmdrSloanne First Contact started the "original" timeline, as it's heavily implied that without guidance from Picards Crew, Cochrane would never have worked with the vulcans so well. The "Special Ops" (MACOs) from Enterprise are (at least that's what I heard) generally thought to have been absorbed into the regular security teams after the founding of the Federation and Earth Starfleet becoming part of Federation Starfleet.

As for Cloak and Dagger: Love the episode. Especially the uniforms. ;)

  • @Draco1985m Your right in one thing Star Trek First Contact was the catechist of this new timeline, the NX as it appears in Star Trek Enterprise wasn't suppose to exist in our reality, but a far less advance ship as seen in the original series & in ST:The Motion Picture when Capt.Decker takes V'ger drone Ilia to the rec room.creating a paradox & new timeline seen in the latest Star trek movie that 23th century is a continuation of ST:Enterprise.

  • @CmdrSloanne You got something wrong there. The NX-01 IS part of the primary timeline, it's just been retconned in with Enterprise. It always existed, but no one ever mentioned it. Yes, that's hard to swallow, but that's the way the story's supposed to play out. All of Star Trek, until ST XI that is, took part into one singular "preferred" timeline that never got radically altered.

  • @Draco1985m you got a point there too. What I'm referring to the NX-Enterprise design.if you can see it as similarities with a sovereign class USS Enterprise-D from a certain angles of the saucer section.Zefram,Lily & others might have seen the 1701-D with their telescopes.even the phase pistols are more like 23th phasers.in the pilot of Star Trek, when Capt.Pike was in C/O,they had lasers pistols,etc..in Star Trek 11.you can see the changes beginning to affect the 24th.

  • LMFAO!!!

"Captain, I'd like to request permission t-"

    "DENIED!!!"

  • @TheWolfmanG

I was thinking pretty well much the same thing.

The Doctor was definitely the most relaxed actor in the show. The rest of them need to slow down, speak their lines, and try to be a little more natural. Easier said than done, but it will come with practise.

As you said, 6/10. Worth watching, lets hope episode 2 is a little more polished.

  • I am totally invested in this. Very imaginative designs and sound effects. All the old pieces are there but re-imagined. Brilliant transporter effect and I love the fact that space isn't simply a black void with stars in the background. The acting is pretty good and holds its own. Can't wait to see the bridge! I love the use of the holographic controls! Keep up the great work!

  • The acting is terrible!... Worst produced star trek ever! There needs to be a new televised series!

  • where can i get ahold of that autotuned gregorian chant song? also, glad to see zippers are back in the 25th century.
