I have both "La revancha del tango" and "Lunatico", I've never heard of Jointz ... thanks for mentioning it.

There are very few Gotans I like. The one I like most is Celos from Lunatico. But that ain't tango no matter what anyone says. That's a nice but awfully slow slowfoxtrot.

I meant Tango Nuevo argentino music. I would not mind learning some of that style though. It's just that most of the music is kinda too electronic and often quite a bit too boring (after the first minute or two). At least in my opinion of course. I'm (attempting) dancing the intl competitive style tango as well and you're right, the rythm may be similar, but the mood and the feel is different. :-)

Though of course there are huge differences in mood and feel even just within argentino.

I'm not a big fan of nuevo myself and dance it only if I can't help it (my tango partner likes the music), but they do a great job. And if you look, at times the embrace is not competitive ballroom, but rather argentino. (One of the many styles.)
