There some stuff you can do to transfer the the rights to other computers, be glad. Unlike steam, you can play it on multiple computers at once legally.
This game would have been epic if not for the DRM issues. The DRM controversy really killed SPORE, I'm sure Will Wright was upset about what was otherwise a pretty unique concept getting muddled in privacy/security issues.
I've played it, the game is really entertaining and addictive, I only went as far as the space stage - I only went back and forth through the tutorials in the space stage. I didn't put down a colony or any of the other cool stuff.I hope I win.

actually, it has been fixed, the DRM issues.
I have spore and dont require disk. (but it occasionally crashes, but taht could just be my laptop's graphics card)
