  • die deutsche Version gibt es von SENTA BERGER

  • @peterreinhardveit Danke für die kommentary.

  • Because Barbara made an independent deal with Dot, 'Ed'- unlike Sally Field, who recorded HER album for Colgems because she was under exclusive contract to Screen Gems/Columbia...and they wanted to capitalize on her being "THE FLYING NUN"' (which is why she appeared as "Sister Bertrille" on the cover). It wasn't until after "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" became success in its first season that Barbara actively pursued her singing career (she had some doubt about her singing abilities until then).

  • For more on Barbara Eden you can read my article on Lockergnome(dot)com: "Barbara Eden Launches Official Website, Biography 2011."

  • @jfko6 Thanks for sharing that. I moderate some Yahoo music sites on girl groups/girl singers & they'll be delighted to see this.

  • Wally1435... Thanks for posting this, it's a fantastic version!! Why isn't it on iTunes or something similar!!??

  • @kokicku You're welcome.

  • Truly amazing, thank you for posting this song! Her voice is so crystal clear, she makes singing seem so effortless.

  • @Bannion77 You are welcome.

  • I wonder why Dot issued this and not Colgems [IDOJ was a Screen Gems show while Dot wa sowned by Paramount Pictures]

  • barbra sung much better than sany posey a tru legand barbra

  • I had no idea she had such a nice voice- wow and she did it with it -without a blink!

  • Not bad. She should teach william shatner how to do an album.

  • @mysterymac38 LOL Yeah, he was pretty bland, but Telly Savalas was pretty awful too.

  • I just love this woman, she is a good singer =), thanks for the video 5/5..

  • You are welcome; thanks for rating & for commenting.

  • ALL I CAN SAY TO THIS IS - WOWEE wow wow wow!!!!! If this track was released as a single, I would have definitely bought it - she should have done more singing on "I Dream of Jeannie"!

  • Thanks for your exubarant comments! It is appreciated.

  • Wow she can really sing. It's too bad they didn't give her the credit she deserved.

  • Thanks for commenting; I'm hearing rumors that this album might be released on cd soon.

  • @wally1435 I hope they do! I'd like to listen to this on my iPod as well.

  • @PrincessBlue791 You are absolutely right on. Her singing talent was overlooked by Hollywood. Most people did not know this side of Barbara Eden.

  • @PrincessBlue791 You are so right ! It is unbelievable to not have someone like this on the Top 100 radio tunes in the 60's. Her voice is so soothing and smooth at the same time not to mention ultra sexy.

  • I just found this album at my local record collector shop & purchased it for my Jeannie collection despite the price tag! I don't intend on playing it so I was really happy to hear a song from it. Barbara Eden is not only a beautiful woman, she is a class act.

  • Thanks for your comments.

  • Barbara can sing as well as she perform her I Dream Of Jeannie act. Thanks for posting artists that I never heard of before.

  • You're welcome.

  • Good luck, 'wally'; this album didn't sell that many copies when it was initially issued in 1967 (that's why Dot never released a follow-up)- in record collectors' circles, most acquire it primarily because of the cover.

  • I remember way back when Barbara Eden used to have a night-club act. She would often appear at the Venetian Room a nightclub at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. That was before the end of the supper-club era. The stage at that night club had some of the biggest entertainers ever known. Stars like Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson, Bernadette Peters, Tina Turner, Barbara McNair and of course Miss Barbara Eden.

  • Thanks for commenting - I recall The Fairmont very well. Now we have venues in San Francisco like The Razz Room, which is o.k. but can't compare to those glory days.

  • Sandy Posey's original recording of this song is wonderful and I like it a lot, but Barbara's version has a charm and style all its own that only Jeannie could have dreamed of.A fine song by a classy gal!

  • Barbara does a great version of this song.

  • Much as I like the album, Barbara's choice of material could have been better; on one track, she also covered Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich's 1966 English hit "Bend It"- I've heard the original- and Barbara's version is, well, less impressive.

  • Thanks for the feedback; of all the songs I've uploaded to YouTube, this is one of two that I don't have the LP for.

  • I totally agree. Barbara can sing *very* well (I wonder why she never made a second LP) But Bend (Don't Pretend It) is my least favorite track.

  • I have this LP!!!

  • I do a lot of used LP hunting, so hopefully I'll eventually come across a copy of this LP.

  • Wow!Wow!Wow!Awesomw!I have always been a big Barbara Eden fan & grew up watching I Dream of Jeannie on tv and love it still.I never knew or had any idea that she ever recorded any songs or made albums, 45s, etc. Now, this is awesome & she has a terriffic voice! This should have been a big hit way back when. Wish this and all of her recordings from that era was on cd! Great performance & hats off to Barbara/Jeannie!

  • I saw something on the web where there's talk of this finally coming out on cd, but I can't recall where I saw it.

  • Aw thankyou! I love it. I have over 25 songs of her singing and I'm just loving to add these new ones on. Please post more if you can

  • You're welcome,

  • OMG OMG OMG THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!! If you have anymore songs of hers please post them if you can! It's so hard to get ahold of them!

  • You're welcome.
