@k4n3n1 Are you shitting me..it had depleted uranium armor and a turbofan engine it's like a fighter jet on wheels it sucks precious energy like nothing else in the world.The Leopard runs on diesel and has highly advanced composite armor and is the most agile thing weighing 65+ tons trust me nothing comes close to the Leopard 2 MBT it also has the most deadly cannon in the world the Rheinmetall 120mm.
The Challenger 2 beats the Leopard 2, The Gun is slightly bigger and is rifled, giving the range of over 5miles (8km). The Armour of the Challenger 2 is far better. The second generation Chobham armor took 14 RPG's and a missile to put the tank out of service for 6 hours. It was quickly repaired. So far there as been no death casualties in a Challenger. The leopard 2 how ever beats the Challenger2 in mobility.

@Durendal33 The Rheinmetall L55 - the Leopard 2A6 and newer, older versions use the L44, the same model the M1A1 use (yeah, it's an imported german cannon).

The Engineers are the unsung heroes of any campaign. I worked for a WW2 era Engineer, when I was just a teenager. What a hard-ass! He was almost 60, and I was scared shitless of him. Hardest working, toughest man I've ever met.
@k4n3n1 It is actually the most robust tank created the Leopard 2. "very fragile" is far from the truth if you actually read and compare specs and facts. 940mm RHA for the leopard 2 turret against KE and ironically 940mm RHA for the Abrams turret against KE also. A much more robust engine and transmission also running on diesel, which also means it is not lit up like a Christmas tree on IR unlike a gas turbine that is prone to constant servicing. Also L55 vs the M1 L44.

The most advanced M1 is the M1A2 (heard rumors of an M1A3 in developement) but the Leopards are just more valuable in the long run as they are alot less expensive and still as effective
IMO the Abrams is just an US symbol and figure to amaze..
only thing wrong with the canadian military is the budget. we make 3 times the GDP of sweden yet we dont own a working submarine while they have 6 great subs, a navy 3 times our size and equal health, education, and retirement benefits. our GDP is slightly less than south korea (0.2 trillion) yet our air force is 1/4 theres and our army is 1/16th in size. sad when you think we are the 2nd largest country in the world, with the greatest amount of resources in the world to protect..

Sorry but you have a large number of under trained tank and operator, and here in canada, a small army of top personnel. I work in defence, i know what i talking about. Last summer, in a joint training week kick usmc ass before before humiliate a us navy seal team, with our regular troops, not the JTF2 or the SOR.

@dann2284 agreed. the us think there army is "the best" because they have they most. they just have alot of "grunts" we may have less troops but each one is refined to what they do. thats why are air force is one of the best.

The Challenger 2 beats the Leopard 2, The Gun is slightly bigger and is rifled, giving the range of over 5miles (8km). The Armour of the Challenger 2 is far better. The second generation Chobham armor took 14 RPG's and a missile to put the tank out of service for 6 hours. It was quickly repaired. So far there as been no death casualties in a Challenger. The leopard 2 how ever beats the Challenger2 in mobility.
Leopard 2 = 2nd best tank in the world.

@k4n3n1 It is actually the most robust tank created the Leopard 2. "very fragile" is far from the truth if you actually read and compare specs and facts. 940mm RHA for the leopard 2 turret against KE and ironically 940mm RHA for the Abrams turret against KE also. A much more robust engine and transmission also running on diesel, which also means it is not lit up like a Christmas tree on IR unlike a gas turbine that is prone to constant servicing. Also L55 vs the M1 L44.

@Durendal33 yep i think they recently changed to the 2A7 (if it exists, dunno im not too familiar with versions of leopard 2) but yeh they Canada intrusts Germany for armored units, the US M1 Abrams is just too expensive for what it is
The most advanced M1 is the M1A2 (heard rumors of an M1A3 in developement) but the Leopards are just more valuable in the long run as they are alot less expensive and still as effective
IMO the Abrams is just an US symbol and figure to amaze..

only thing wrong with the canadian military is the budget. we make 3 times the GDP of sweden yet we dont own a working submarine while they have 6 great subs, a navy 3 times our size and equal health, education, and retirement benefits. our GDP is slightly less than south korea (0.2 trillion) yet our air force is 1/4 theres and our army is 1/16th in size. sad when you think we are the 2nd largest country in the world, with the greatest amount of resources in the world to protect..

You do great work, knowing that you might not make it through the day, this something that we back home will never experience. It is a must that your government, that sent you to Afghanistan, will look after you when you return... God's speed!!!

Sorry but you have a large number of under trained tank and operator, and here in canada, a small army of top personnel. I work in defence, i know what i talking about. Last summer, in a joint training week kick usmc ass before before humiliate a us navy seal team, with our regular troops, not the JTF2 or the SOR.
