Billy Swan moved to Memphis to work with Bill Black, and also for a time worked on Elvis Presley's Graceland estate. He then moved to Nashville, which enabled him to write hit country songs for numerous artists, including Conway Twitty, Waylon Jennings, and Mel Tillis. In 1969, Swan first took on the role of record producer, producing Tony Joe White's Top Ten hit "Polk Salad Annie".

Neither seems to copy each other but rather compliments each other..

But both great version's are available for each person's taste or liking.

Billy likes Elvis's version and Elvis likes Billy's version. It's a fact.

I've always loved this energetic and perfect song so very much. Elvis' rendition of this song is the best rendition of this song. Elvis' rendition of this song should be way better known than it is.
