  • Warner bros. should release Hysteria on DVD they don't know the profit they are missing out on.

  • Taft was a great president, he drove a car, had a solid brass tub, started the presidential first pitch and had a Moxie Soda tap installed at his desk. Also, he was a History Teacher, not a politician!

  • @ObiTrev

He was also the only president to become chief justice.

  • Taft is a dunce, Theodore Roosevelt and him were friends but after teddy saw everything Taft was doing in office he ended that friendship and ran against him with the new bull moose party. To bad Wilson won that election imagine all the good teddy could have done. Also teddy hated the nickname teddy.

  • Yep, Taft was a pretty passive guy......AS PRESIDENT.

  • WHAT A GROUCH! XD

  • William Howard Taft signed check on eBay. Npen6716 on eBay...

  • Taft was the man! Pick on Harding or something

  • howard taft's family also controlled media companies

  • i like the obama version of the song better

  • "Can we do a little more research before we start these things!?" at least Father Time knows that skit was wrong! lol

  • wow...taft was my FAVORITE president, how dare they.....I mean it's funny....but still...WTF!!!

  • Well, at least Taft amounted to SOMETHING with his first pitch, huge bath and first car. William Harrison did even less, and so did lots of other 19th century presidents.

  • taft wasnt a bad president he performed well for the situations thrown at him he just had an uneventful presidency

  • I have a feeling that the audience Histeria was meant for would be too young to understand a shaft parody...

  • Histeria sucks. this show is so fucking biased towards the communists and towards an American superiority point of view, it's vile.

  • @TheTranceCartel how can it be biased towards the communists and towards American superiority? I think you meant to say it's biased AGAINST the communists and towards American superiority, right?

  • @TheTranceCartel if you dont like it go to the peoples repulsive of china.

  • Sad. W.H. Taft was one of the VERY few Republican presidents worth a damn in our history, yet it seems all we remember him for today is his weight.

  • @truthslap That shows how shallow we are. But I have to wonder, if Taft got up to 355 pounds back in the 1910s, goodness knows with the crap that we have today what his weight may have gone to. But he was one of the most progressive republican presidents we ever had. He just didn't have charisma, I suppose.

  • LOL I love how at the end Father Time gets all mad and yells that they should have done more research before making the skit XD This show's awesome and now I just wanna joke around that even when they get stuff wrong they're right XDXDXD

  • It's just a cartoon, people. It's not propaganda. It's called satire.

  • No mention of being the only man to be President and Chief Justice (not at the same time), or starting the parcel post? Trust busting? Heck, last President with facial hair? Although I guess the lack of research was the punchline...

  • @ImpudentInfidel Yeah, they have a whole song about how TR was a trust buster and make no mention of Taft's trust busting in this song. I'm pretty sure Taft actually did MORE trust busting than TR.

  • so this is where george w. bush got his presidency ideas from. lol

  • >Taft

    >Shaft

I see what you did there.

  • My Social Studies teacher showed me this vid!!!!

  • 1:49 lol

  • I can see your using hyper cam 2. But if you don't mind me asking. How did you get sound on the video?

  • 1st President to throw out the first pitch?

Well, I hope they made fattie practice...

  • this is bullshit!! Howard was one of the best supreme court justices!!

  • "Shut your piehole!" lol

  • Taft, Shaft, hahaha. XD

  • Taft was actually a fairly good president with some notable accomplishments. Oh and also he didnt have that deep a voice. hahaha

  • omg shaft theme

  • He was a more effective trust buster than TR!

  • Being a softy I would have liked it better if at the end they show and older Taft as Chief Justice furiously scribbling away then looking up to the camera, smiling and saying something like "this was job I really wanted all along"

  • man taft is fat.

  • He also was responsible for a split in the Republican Party: There was a second Republican Party in 1912 , the progressive party ; their presidential candidate was Theodore Roosevelt. Because there were now 2 republican candidates , the democratic candidate W. Wilson won the presidential campagne.

By the way : these cartoons are meant to be funny and make kids interested in history. They aren't a 100% accurate but what the hell, as long as they know the big picture. (BTW I am a history teacher)

  • Oh, come on, Taft is NOT desrving of such a cool theme as the Shaft theme!

(And anyway, that should be kept on reserve for Obama!)

  • its's interesting how they hype up teddy's trust-busting when taft actually busted more trusts...

  • You ant to talk about a Taft ho did a lot of good? Look up Robert Taft, he a never president but did way more than William Howard.

  • 90 trusts in 4 years.. new high score

  • Anybody following T.R. into the White House would seem dull by comparison. Theres the famous story of his sending a telegram to the Secretary of War in which he wrote he took a long horseback ride and was feeling fine. The Secretary immediately wired back "How's the horse?"

  • taft didn't do much? he got the 16th amendment passed!

  • @cartossin

yea what a great accomplishment that was

  • Taft betrayed Teddy and went to bring back Trusts.

  • @iLMAO95 chris0419 is right. Taft busted waaaay more Trusts than Teddy did.

  • didnt he bust more trust then teddyy

  • taft did some stuff! he tried to buy railroads in china.... he was a trustbuster that busted more companies than roosavelt, and than he busted standard steel, which roosavelt had some stake in, which created a split in the men and divided the republican party allowing wilson to win!

  • He's still better than our current president!

  • good memories....i love big fat baby

  • Wasn't Taft also the only US president to serve in all three branches of the US Government?

  • yes

  • Actually now that I think about it, I don't think he was in congress.

  • He was also a Supreme Court Justice.

  • @TheUDonald

The executive and judicial, I think.

  • @TheUDonald He didn't serve in the legislative branch.

He was never a Senator or Representative.

He was the President (Executive), and then as Chief Justice (Judicial).

  • @TheUDonald You are correct. Of course this silly cartoon wouldn't acknowledge that. He didn't muck up anything. That's more than you can say for certain occupants of the White House.

  • Taft didn't do anything?

How about his role in the intervention of the Philippines during the Spanish-American War? How did you miss it?

After we killed 2,000,000 (two million) Filipinos Taft was installed as governor of the Philippines.

These cartoons are cute but they are basically propaganda garbage. I urge people to read about U.S. past interventions and current foreign policies.

  • This was only discussing his term as President. That's why there was no need to mention what he did in the Philipines. You notice they didn't mention his Supreme Court experiences, either.

  • @hirofan Spanish-American War oh yeah, it was the reason we invinted the .45.

  • @hirofan

yea, although that was before he was president.

  • @hirofan We didn't kill 2,000,000 Filipinos. Look up any modern atlas on combat casualties & you will see the figure is in the neighborhood of 220,000 deaths. Most of these are attributed to disease & famine. I would include the link for you, but that never works on You Tube. Try a search with these terms: twentieth century atlas death tolls and casualty statistics for wars.

  • @hirofan I mean these cartoons were stupid, but I wouldn't go as far as to call them "propaganda". They were just more concerned with looking for a laugh than for accurately representing history.

  • @hirofan I'm not too sure, but look at it like this these shows generate an interest (they say he didnt do MUCH) which without, a lot of people wouldnt think twice (or even once about)

  • @hirofan This is a KID'S show. I'm sure they'd learn all about that in college.

  • @hirofan Wow. Taft was even in office when the Spanish-American and Philippine-American Wars went down (and they're not the same war). He came in 1909, and the P-A War ended in 1902. As for the Filipinos dead, official stats are 12k-20k military and 34k, 200k, 250k, or 1m civilian. That's a sum average of 387k. I just can't list the improvements we did before their independence. Thanks for urging me to read about U.S. past interventions and current foreign policies. Maybe you should next time.

  • @AviatorZero Correct.. I did mean to say Philippine-American War and Taft was appointed Governor-General of the Philippines in 1900. I must have read 200,000 and had that number lodged in my brain for a decade. A good number of pinoys don't include commas so I saw 200000 and assumed it was two million. I prefer to read Filipino account, not re-written history. Anyway we would've killed as many people as it took to take control. It was genocide. Read some Howard Zinn, friend.
  • @hirofan 1. I meant Taft was NOT in office at the time, but the next sentence fixes that.

    2. Preferring to read one side side of the story defeats the purpose of doing research.

    3. Most of the deaths on both sides of the conflict were from disease.

    4. I actually have Zinn's A People's History of the United States. It's good apart from the fact that he's an anarchist (as if that bullcrap could possibly work.)

  • @hirofan

It's a CARTOON directed towards KIDS. So, get the stick out of your ass and lighten the fuck up.

  • @TheSaintOfPain

You don't think cartoons are used as propaganda?

I'll take the stick out of my ass if you promise to stop

shoving in into me and other free thinking people.

  • Comment removed

  • YOU are the one putting the stick up your own ass, because YOU are the one that's not lightening the fuck up and being a humorless fucktard about a Goddamned cartoon. But, I guess I'd expect nothing less from a 47 year-old virgin that probably still lives in his mom's basement, and has nothing better to do than eat Cheetos and come up with retarded conspiracy bullshit that makes less sense than, well, anything you would come up with with your uptight conspiracy bullshit.

  • @TheSaintOfPain

I'll have you know I was 36 when I lost

my virginity. My mom has no basement

and I hate Cheetos. I fill up on spinach.

You're the clueless asshole if you don't

know the elite have been rubbing each

    others' backs for decades..

  • @hirofan

Really? 36? Words can't tell you just how much of a Goddamned loser you are, and that you are completely fucking worthless, no one loves you, and no one would miss you if you killed yourself. Which is something you should definitely fucking do, because then the collective IQ of the world would raise at least 40 points. So fucking kill yourself, you worthless piece of faggot shit, and shut the fuck up with your Goddamn fucktarded bullshit.

  • @hirofan Don't forget the 16th ammendment. Nonapportioned taxation.

  • @hirofan Technically the Philippines thing was after the Spanish-American war when they were an American territory. It was more putting down a rebellion than an 'intervention' per se. He was also never governor there. You might have it mixed up with Cuba.

  • @hirofan I feel sorry for Taft. Being president after T.R. would be like going after one of the founding fathers. Such a rep. to live up to.

  • @hirofan Actually sir, I know a little about American history, and what you're saying is a little jumbled.

The Spanish-American war was a foreign policy taken on by McKinley, Taft had no involvement of it. The Phillipines war, which was a complete and total different war, didn't really have much to do with Taft either. Yeah, a ton of Filipinos died in that war, but Taft was only elected major after the dispute was settled. Taft was an EXTREMELY passive president compared to Teddy before him

  • @watcherthatboxer

    Thanks for educating me, sir.

  • @hirofan 2:21 father time request more research

  • @hirofan The 2,000,000 number comes from the Department of Pull It Out of Your Liberal Ass Stats....

  • @TiminPhoenix I see.. you're one of those ignorant folks who believe we have a two party system.

  • He also became the only president to become the high justice of the supreme court.

  • Ah! Memories.

  • ffft; I let out a burst of laughter when I started to hear the Shaft theme start up XD Pure genius I'd say!

  • how ironic

since taft got a HUGE shaft from this show

  • lol, true xD'

  • The horses were grateful that he used cars. I saw a picture of Taft horse back. Poor thing had a look on it's face like please get him off me.

  • I'm surrprised he didn't get a humanitary award for that.

  • They should have.

  • Comment removed

  • Taft maintained things, which is good. And after he left the White House, and got his balls back from his wife, he became a successful Supreme Court Justice, his true goal.

  • taft was ok.

  • i used to watch this when i was like 5 i never understood it, because i didnt know much history at the time. all i used to remember was BIG FAT BABY and that guy who always says HIYOOOO

  • Taft didn't do much other than maintaining

  • lol... though to be totally fair, taft busted a lot of trusts... more than teddy roosevelt, in fact.

  • what happend to lucky bob

  • taft?!?!?! what?!?! like shaft?!?! omg love this

  • i remember this episode...lol

  • ths is my favorite show in disney. i watch it each day ^____^

  • *roflmao* K....I so remember this from my high school days... wow. thanks for the clip!

  • i remember this, this tune has always been in my head every time his name is mentioned lol.

  • please put on george bush i do not like this brocoli, thanks for taft!

  • Lol, yes but 330 pounds, come on.

  • this was such a great show....

  • Shut your pie hole LOL

  • Umm, well Taft did do more trust enforcement than that of TR, and he wanted to be a federal judge not a president, which he did later. Though, yeah....

  • not just a federal judge. he wanted to be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, which he went on to become after he left office, making him the only president to serve on the supreme court

  • Also the only president to swear in another.

  • Taft was the shit!!! yee

  • ha! i'm related to him!

  • They say that Taft is one bad mother******.

    (Shut your mouth!)

    I'm just talking 'bout Taft!

  • Then we can dig it.

  • he had a high voice not a low one.

  • Look this is completely overlooking the fact that TAFT created the heavens and the Earth, it says so in the bible. He also invented the wheel, discovered fire and electricity, won the American revolution, war of 1812, Civil war, WWI,WWII, and Vietnam. He was the lead singer in the beatles, Led Zepplin and acted every part in the Cosby show. He has won 9837216 gold medals in the olympics, more than any other athelete ever.HE is also the central figure for the three biggest religions in the world.

  • @BombINlasagna Taft was the Chuck Norris of the 1900s

  • The Big Fat Bay is so cute *-*

  • Man they need to get this onto DVD, My kids will never graduate school without it!

  • well he DID pass the Mann-Elkins Act in 1910, supported the 8-hour work day, and legislation to make mining safer AND he instituted more suits against monopolies than Roosevelt

  • still not all that groundbreaking when compared to other presidents, but I agree that he still acomplished something while in office, LONG LIVE TAFT!

  • Yeah but his girth and getting stuck in the bathtub often highlights his presidency.

  • I forgot most of this was overlooked by his charter and he was not well known to be a physical man than TR, also the fact he entered office out of TR shadow sorta made him look less, because of this.

  • hey, college humor did something like this. did they realize it had been done before?

  • idk which one you mean, but this came out before college humor.

  • i realize, so i'm wondering if college humor realized what THEY were doing.

  • He was President when my Grandma was born.

  • This show actually helped me history.

  • Some how you could tell a Shaft joke was coming.

  • Yeah but it was done so well!

  • i really loved this show. it was witty and educational.

  • It's funny

    It's educational

    But mostly funny

    Yay Funny

  • Just talkin bout Taft! Lol that was great! This show rocked, man! I miss it! It was really fun and informative to watch.

  • Taft wasn't a good president becuz he never wanted to be president. he suffered from depression and weight problems during his presidency. his wife died and alot of family problems. he even got into a fight with his best friend teddy rosevelt durin the elcetion of 1912. his real passion was in law and wanted to be in the us supreme court. when he became cheif justice later in life he became really happy and lost alot of weight. it just goes to show you president isn't always a good thing

  • he was a trust-buster so he wasn't all bad

  • Big Fat Baby is the best.

  • that was weird

  • I was a college student when this show came out and it helped me to study, believe it or not! It was great! WARNER BROTHERS, PLEASE RELEASE THIS ON DVD!!

  • lol I remember this the Thaft song it was like Shaft does anyone have that episode where they kept asking this dictator "Hey aren't you one of those Super Mario Brothers?"

  • Can anyone please put up more songs, like the "Please watch our show" song, or clips from other eps?

  • he invented the 7th inning strech

  • OMFG! I remember this episode! this was my fav show win i was a kid, I'm 17 now and becasue of this show I got a 5 on my AP World history exam and APUS is the course I'm not failing this year.... any one no where i can watch full episodes?

  • oh ok i'm from Canada so i wouldn't really know. but yea thats more like it weight wise.

  • I learned history from histeria LOL

  • 6f2 and 230pounds? thats not so bad, whats with the excessive fat jokes?

  • Is that all he weighed at that height?

    I'm 6' 4", and weigh about 250, and I'm not THAT fat.

  • Think they said 330

  • Hey, don't knock makin' fun o' history. After all, humor is the best way to get something remembered. Bad class clowns and water Cooler comics repeat everything they hear on TV for years. Woulnd't be surprised that kids memorized the Taft song.

  • This sketch is genuinely funny and informative. It really is too bad Histeria is no more. There's a legion of children out there that have never even heard of William Howard Taft before.

  • William Howard Taft Rocks and that`s a mean video about ME!!!! (I dresses up as him in a WAX MUSEUM)

  • to Sheik864

why would that make the show get canceled, did william howard taft somehow complain? this shows hilarious and shouldn't have been cancelled

  • Well I respect your opinion, but with all do respect, William Howard Taft couldn't have possibly complained because he would not be alive when this cartoon came out

  • to Sheik864

did you seriously not get the sarcasm in my first post "did william howard taft somehow complain"

  • oh god i miss this show too. I actually hated it at first but it grew on me and i love that i learned things from it while getting a laugh. sigh. i want a time machine.

  • Gosh I miss this show...

  • miss this show so much does anyone know where i can find the full episodes of histeria!? that AOL place dont work for me any help would be great thx

  • Memories....I thought I was the only person to watch this show. Now I have an AP US final tomorrow, and I'm taking notes =) (jk)

  • We really need stuff like this back on air. I actually learned facts on history thanks to this show. What happened to entertaining AND educating shows like this?

  • why can't they release it on DVD!?!?!

  • 'Cause Warner Home Video thinks we'd rather watch "Scooby-Doo" D2Vs and (ugh) "Loonatics Unleashed". However, they have said recently that good enough sales of the "Tiny Toons" DVD sets will eventually determine if they'll release this and other non-Spielberg Silver Age productions.

  • =[

I want this on DVD, man...

    we need to write letters

but where would one start? Anyone?

  • I miss this TV show so much. They also have a good song about the renaissance and another good one about DaVinci called "renaissance man"

  • They should seriously be showing this show on Boomerang instead of "Baby Looney Tunes". I know I'd watch it.

  • Agreed.

  • Well if they have the sense to know "Chowder" is true art, then SURELY they know that "Histeria" is better than "Baby Looney Tunes". Why they decide to that other than the classics is beyond me... ugh..
