life saver! navigated to the folder (in vista), but couldn't find the random folder/file name. instead, i ran a virus scan (avast) on the temp folder and found it. it wasn't a random name but was called installer with random characters.

Thanks you very much, last time this happened, I went to 'Notifications Area Icons', then because there was a notification on the virus on the the bottom right (wind.7), it showed the virus and the name (it was like 'stavsd') and I searched the name and deleted it. This time it was called AV Security Suite so I couldn't search it and delete it so I found this video and it helped me out so much, thanks you so much, it really helped!

i just got the virus this morning and removed it with the help of your vid. don't forget to check the proxy server settings in the IE connection tab. the virus seems to checks the proxy server setting under internet options to stop you from getting on the internet...

Great tutorial. Using this video, I found and changed the name of the .exe file and rebooted. This allowed me to use the Windows core functions one again. From there I did a System Restore. It looks like I'm good to go. Thanks!!

this video helped me get rid of malware soft within 10 minutes. when you rename the programe your effectively paralyzing it..when you reboot your computer go back to the file and you will then be able to delete it permenantly. best vid on youtube! thanks a lot buddy
