I'm in the middle of watching this now. I really thought the first half of night 1 was extremely fun but like you said the main event was way too long considering the talent involved. Overall I can't say I'm extremely blown away so far, I know this is their biggest weekend of the year. It's pretty cool to see so much variety involved for these shows though.

Alvarez doesnt review almost anything other than TNA or WWE I.E. he doesn't review Chikara. As far as no extra buys, I have gotten at least 50 Emails from people thinking me for recommending this as they bought the DVDs. Also casual fans for the most part aren't going to like Chikara just from the stand point of the gimmicks. Even among hardcore fans they are looked at as being behind ROH and PWG simply because people can't get past the gimmicks.

When in this review did I ever call it BAD? Just asking becouse I was under the impression that I told people to buy the DVD. Just like I told people to buy last years DVD. Just as you said the style they use is based on Lucha which most people would say is sloppy alot of the time becouse they want it to be slower and more crisp. Now since I watch both AAA and CMLL on a normal basis, along with Dragongate and was a big M-Pro fan I am use to the style.

I bought this for the Johnny Saints appearance thinking it would be a "nice to have" for the collection but the match against team uppercut has to be my match of the year so far. I couldn't believe the crowd reaction given they can only have seen ye olde world of sport shows. It had everything I personally want to see, Johnny Saint being unbelievable, each pairing wrestling a different style and not too many spots.

Japan? CHIKARA is in AMERICA. And for the record, CHIKARA is closer to Lucha Libre style than Japanese Puroresu. Maybe Lucharesu, but certainly not Puroresu.
I agree with all your match ratings with the exception of PWG/Portal I loved that match. I think it'd be cool if you reviewed all the big indy shows. Especially this years IWA MS TPI, which is shaping up to be just as good as 2004 and 2006's. I can't wait for TPI got my front row ticket and everything.
Yeah I wanna check out more PWG DVDs since I only got 2006 DVDs but it took almost 2 months to get the shows, had to e mail them, and had to re order the shows. I never have a problem with SMV and ROH only PWG for some reason.
I wouldn't call him the best Trainer ever there are a slew of guys in Japan that are better, Hart was probobly better as well. He is probobly the best one today though.

I actually think you underrated most, if not all the singles matches. Kingston/Aries was pretty good, and Generico vs Cannon was... very pretty good?
Aries runs that cherokie gimmick sometimes in EPIC WAR.
