  • They are not on any approach. They use the mountains and valleys in Colorado as a training platform...low level flight in a dangerous situation.

  • two of these just did a low pass over my house not even 10 minutes ago!

  • That was " J " model!:)

  • Peterson AFB which is about 40 miles from where you were has a bunch of C-130s. And bordering with the Royal Gorge is a Military Operations Area extending almost to the AFB itself. So it's quite natural that they'd do that.

  • If you were in Colorado, then those are from Peterson. Academy doesn't have anything other than trainers for jump platforms and glider pulls, Buckley doesn't have C-130's. That's the only aircraft at Peterson.

  • @gracefultxn Oh ok, thanks. Really cool to see these.

  • nice, were you on vacation??? nice video :)

  • I was! I was going to an Air Force football game, and we decided to stop here.

  • They are in that area probably operating inside of the local MOA they have there. (Military Operations Area). It may not be a very active MOA that they use which may be why you never see them much.

  • that's awesome dude it's a J!! it's probably from either the Air Force Academy or Buckley AFB
