does anyone clearly see a pattern developing with people who made the mistake of buying a plasma TV knowing LED provides much better back lighting, plus the LED's wont fail anywhere near as much as a plasma cell will, better still is that OLED TV's are just months away from becomming a reality (and im not talking about the crap 11 inch models sony had several years ago), plasma TV's are too reflective too heavy and too energy intencive, plasma is just pre HDTV, its old and out dated, move on.
I've just brought a Samsung UE40D5520 for £499 from Currys. Its miles ahead compared to my older 32" toshiba, and the black definition is a lot clearer than my dads 60" LG. You have SmartTV intergrated into the newer tele's too which is an amazing feature. I also saw a 40" Toshiba for the same price, it had everything the samsung had but 3DTV on top, i just prefered the look of the Samsung and i don't rate 3D!
but we've now got led's tv's? The fuck ya think the lcd is ya you stupid cunt?
Hey look, check out my new HLV tv I just build. I got these bigass fuckn halogen lights in the back!!! I'll show ya whiter whites mother fucker.
Say what ya want add all those god aweful fucking features that RAPE a screen, the flow and response time on an lcd/the other fuckn letters still can't beat a plasma let alone ever come anywhere near to a damn tube tv.
I wanna ask a question please respond... my friend said that if I get a plasma that screen with burn out in like a year and that im going to waste my money???... any thoughts?
LED TVs were awesome when they were first on the market. Now they are such a joke. Almost everyone of them is edge lit. Why aren't people suspicious when they go to a store and see $200-250 32" LED TVs ? Plasma TVs still do have the best picture, and a lot of newer models are almost as thin as LED and aren't as power hungry anymore. Still very glossy though so not as flexible with room placement. Don't be excited about LED though unless it's a REAL full-array LED TV, like Samsung tends to make.
Review was incorrect about colour. LED is just the same as LCD - its the back light that is different. Expert tests still show Plasma to have the best colour reproduction.
Many LED TVs are EDGE LIT. Only a handful of very expensive setts are FULL LED.
Not only that but viewing angle wasn't explained. - something very important for family TV's as people sit in various positions in the room.
Again LCD and LED Has viewing angle colour and contrast washout when viewed at angles Plasma does not.
Pros: Viewing angles are much better than LED or LCD, color reproduction is more accurate than LED and LCD, and refresh rates are much higher than LED and LCD (meaning less image blurr), plasma technology has been perfected over 20+ years while the LEDTV has been around for 2-3 years only, and darker blacks.
Cons: More power consumption, more weight, glass finish (reflections), not as bright as LED, plasmas are thicker but not by very much. Today's plasmas are as thick as a laptop.
Lol. This guy could only sell a TV to someone that knows nothing about TV's. In my opinion, Plasma technology offers the best picture available in TV technology. The best viewing angles, the best contrast ratio and the best black level (the holy grail!). A videophile will find a lot more to like in a Plasma than LED or LCD TV's. Saying that, my chosen display method is DILA projection on an 84" screen - wipes the floor of current TV picture quality.
Problem is comet dixons currys etc don't have dark rooms do you can't see pathetic blacks that LCD and led tv produce I've had spammy c8000 now on sharp lc46le831e both have bad clouding so I'm going plasma
Even seeing the tv's side by side at the stores dont help because there rarely ever a difference shown the only difference is the color but the quality is little to none compared to each other..and allot of the times the tv in the store looks good but when u bring it home it looks like shit..i went threw like 5 tv;s already know from experience. LCD's are diffidently one of the worst yet the look pretty decent in stores.
Hmm I heard a lot of well experienced TV junkies NOT to do the image quality comparison in stores as they are set differently in the menu and the lighting environment is different than at your home.
1 thing's for sure, if you're getting a plasma in a room with lot's of lighting, you may reconsider another option or prepare to move your lighting and or get some blinds for windows.
plasmas are they way to go so long as it's being used in a room without a lot of glare. Motion is smoother, blacks are blacker and you don't have to worry about ghosting or flashlighting that can happen with back lit lcd displays.
question have you ever went to a hockey game and the ice is bright white or a football game bright green grass noooo thats why plasma are better they look real fucking dumb ass stop asking people who work at the fords gm or what ever they do cause they dont understand tvs

Before insulting someone, please use punctuation to properly structure your argument so others can understand it. I had the hardest fucking time following what you said.
I went to see plasmas at a couple of stores and the picture was dull and dark looking compared to LCD and LED TVs. Whites weren't really white but a sort of grey. They suffer in the brightness department too. I went to see the plasmas 42" and was hoping to like them because they were picked by consumer magazines but was not really impressed.
You should realize that you are in a store that depends on profit margin. They have the ability to set the TVs as they please. You should go back and ask for the remote to any TV you want to see and see if they let you play with the picture settings. Never rely on store defaults.
I would like to add the "Honest Specification, Absolutely YES LED T.V.s and Monitors do Comsume 30% Less Energy than LCDs, but LCDs also Consume 60% Less Energy than Plasma T.V.s which such as Much Power as CRT Tubes=Plasma Energy 90% or higheir Energy Consumptions. The last Science fact is that Yes LED T.V.s and Monitors are Slimmer Thinner than LCD T.Vs but LCD T.V.s and Monitos are also Slimmer -Thinner than Plasma T.V.s . Plasma is the Fattest Plasma displays of all 3 Display Panels!!!!
Plasma is the best. Best contrast, most accurate color, best black levels. This guy is obviously only about energy efficiency. (I put my plasma on save energy during the night. Just as efficient as led)

what a horrible review, what about refresh rate, colour depth etc.
Who cares about maybe $40 extra a year on power over LCD to get the much better picture. Also once a TV is mounted who cares what it weighs.

plasma is the best, but you have to have a suitable environment, a dark place. because the plasma in bright places is not good because of reflection.
but in a dark environment, the plasma kuro always beats any LCD and LED.
