why do pilots by austrian airlines a different take off set up ? i mean isn t it normal to say MAN TOGA/ FLEX xx SRS RUNWAY Autothrust Blue ?? or is that because they have other company procedures?
Are the rudder pedals used to maintain the center line after touchdown? And then the tiller is used for the turnoff onto the designated taxiway? Am i right?
HELL YES! I live in Sarajevo and two weeks ago, I landed with 737-800WL form Turkish Airlines there. Approach is spectacular because of high descend rate, constant descend and trying to keep speed below 220kts. The scary thing is go around! As you see on chart you must turn left 315 to avoid mountains, thats sharp turn but I saw CRJ700, ATR72 and A319 doing it successful! If you have simulator feel free to try!
Every runway and approach has an approaching minimum, but also variating from the type of approach and the crew category. Basicaly it means when you approach and descend to the APP minimum you have to see the runway. If you do not see the runway at this altitude you have to go around, you can not land. Usualy runways equipped with ILS it is 100 or 200 feet. But depend on category CATII or CATIII. Long story...
WOW ! One more great JustPlanes production ! Last time I went to Sarajevo was 1995 as a UN Blue Helmet and the airport was devastated. It's great to see peace is back and a fine airline like Austrian is flying there. JP has great shooting angles and this is definitely a must have in the collection.

@sepi40 Every airline has their own set of profiles with different callouts.

what is that sound after the autopilot comes of?
airplaneguy17 2 years ago
it is the warning sound that the auto throttle is off
EuroBerlin92 2 years ago
@EuroBerlin92 and airplaneguy17 it's the Autopilot disconnect warning, a little known fact is that Airbus had that added after a Aeroflot crash

what does it mean when saying, 'retard'? To start flaring out or to put levers to the idle position?
MrChimkin 2 years ago
all it is is put the engines to idle
betterdenu452 2 years ago
It mean to flare !!!!

What a fantastic machine it is! How smooth and easy everything looks! I think every pilot would like to fly such a state-of-the art bird!

"Approaching Minimums" means the aircraft is approaching the height when a final decision must be made whether to continue the approach or abort it.
