  • art 9 is the worst part its upsetting i was in flouds of tears the a$ queen

  • What does she( based on voice) say at 03:09 to 03:12, and what was to point of cutting his hair before they kill him?

  • @MJNSEIFER - She says "How many mice have you killed todasy, Cat?". A male Lions status is defined by his mane - the bigger the mane the more powerful the lion. So, by cutting or shaving off his mane the witch removed his power and so some extent his dignity.

  • o.O

  • 2:50 Sour-puss look!

  • This is perhaps one of the greatest scenes in fantasy ever.

  • @Rainfish14 .Christ

  • 5:05 = Holy crapshoots, it's the troll face!!!

  • If only the ghoul, the female woose and the specters in this scene along with other evil creatures were seen after the Witch was smashed by Aslan,

  • (continued)

Hm - just checked the ending of Ivan's childhood - there must be more than one version, for in this one he is playing on a beach at the end... Maybe the apples and the carriage are in a dream or memory earlier in the film. No matter... The atmosphere shift at the end is the same.

  • Somehow the passage with the flowers after resurrection reminds me of the ending of Tarkovsky's "Ivan's childhood"... As he rides in the carriage with the apples in the other world.. The same shift of atmosphere, from nazi execution to happy child world.

  • halloh deuh chillren

  • wow i found this part more sadder and more emotional than the one in the 2005 movie

  • strange, in the old recorded version i saw as a kid the part with the Queen's speech before killing him wasn't there. They dragged him to the table and suddenly he dead O_o

either the channel cut that out when we recorded it or gramps thought it would be too scary when he taped it for mom.

either way, thanks for loading this up

  • 50,000 people stopped watching early (the clip before this one) thinking astlan killed the queen the battle was over and the kids were crowned. Little did they know about all the events that happend thereafter

  • DAMMIT!! I get so emotional when it comes to this part!.

  • Wow, less budget and without fancy effects but so much more powerful than the big live action version

  • JESUS CHRIST IS LORD. REPENT FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND//

  • @benalchemist74

Kooks like you have been saying that for the past two millennia. Where's the hellfire, doom, and despair your god promised?

  • nlancial - Have you seen The Last Unicorn........also perhaps a few years after this with same combo (PG)

  • this was the sadest moment in a film i ever experienced as a kid love it

  • just goes to show not all cartoons were so innocent even back then shoot i think even the hobbit had a nasty or disturbing scene in it can't remeber although i think it was made around the same time

  • i aint seen this since 1990-1993 cant remember....what a bunch of cunts...cant remember this torture scene at all.... very disturbing!!

  • Not cracks me up, makes me cry

  • O this scene cracks me up everytime.

  • so sad! loved this film as a child! - they dont make em like this anymore

  • 1:28 What a brilliant shot. This was so well directed, and so under rated.

  • I loved this movie when I was young, and I still do. At 0:08 when Aslan turns around... I have that image tattoed at my shoulder :)

  • Wow, that's hard core. Nice choice, though.

  • I'm 24 years old, and I remember this as my favorite movie when I was a kid. This part made me cry, but for the record the monsters are funny to look at and listen too (despite what their doing), but not at first, they were scary. And poor Susan and Lucy they had to watch this.

  • haha at 3:07 pus pus pus oooo pussy! haha i know he meant pussy cat but it's still funny!

  • I FINALLY FOUND THIS PART!!! AND BY LUCK,TOO!!

    AAH!

    Oooooh I remmber this!! :-(

  • i was looking for this cartoon for ages! thanks for uploading it!

the scene where the lion gets shaved horrified me like hell when i was 5 at the time!

  • as a kid i use to cry when they hurt aslan

    :-(

  • I still do and now i am 38

  • man i remember when i was at a motel at 6 years old and i saw that part.

    I about crapped my pants

  • The voice of the Witch isn't really as good as you'd hope though. But not everyone can be Tilda Swinton. Still the expressions of the monsters at 4:59-5:04 were somehow hilarious.

  • Man look at that little guy with the scissors go! He's like Speedy Gonzalos with those things! I love how that hag was shut up because a bit of his hair went in it's mouth at 2:51 xD. Still it's always a sad part. Not quite as bad as being crucified I guess, but it still is such a sad thing to see. Gets you to remember how much God has given the world though so we should be more grateful and not blame every bad thing on him. He died for our sins and we should honor that.

  • Why is Jesus-Lion so sad?

  • OMG well how the hell would u feel if u were about to die???

  • The gools are freaky

  • why is it impossible to embed it? I want to collect the whole thing :(

  • I am confused also there is a missing part after 7 whoever did these videos need to go back & check what they did wrong.

  • yes they got the order all wrong XD

  • This part terrified me as a kid. O_O

  • This part didn't scare me when I was little, oddly enough....but I'm sure if I had seen the remake that came out in 2005 back then, I would've been terrified. You got to admit, this scene isn't too graphic in the cartoon, considering this was for kids. :)

  • Wow, I remember this part was devastating when I was little. I watched it for the first time when I was on vacation when I was six and was a tad traumatized for the rest of the trip!

  • Yea, I watched this all the time when I was little as well....ironically enough, this part didnt scare me. Which I guess is a good thing, but now when I watch it, it makes me cry. Poor Aslan. :(

  • i knew this existed, i'm sure i saw this cartoon when i was 2 or 3 years old!!!!!!!

  • but the happy romp makes up for everything

  • I started laughing out at the happy romp.

  • this part of the book was the first time a book made me cry now this is the first cartoon to make me cry

  • Hey uh...is there a part missing after Part 7 before it goes to Part 9 and then back to Part 8? I am so lost now at the sequencing of these damned videos.

  • @aznfyrepixie I'm sure there is a part missing...

  • I love this part so much!

  • Hey don't you know where i could find the continuous to this movie.. animated prince caspian as little i remember watching at it. So i know it exists! anyone?

  • i used to cry when i watched this when i was little. I actually bought this on a DVD at Wal*Mart for 5 dollars:D

  • lol love the witch; she's the funniest character lol

  • I love the vioce of Aslan, its so powerful sounding.

  • the order on this is wrong. the 8th part should be the 9th and the 9th should be the 8th.

On another note I remember watching this on TV. It was something We (Myself&Brothers) had to see because our mother had been reading the story to us. The book/s were ever so much better but this is still good.

  • This should be british. Why have the bloody americans vandalised what was orginially a british made version. They dubbed out Arthur Lowe's voice for crying out loud!

  • I remember seeing this in 1979 and being completely engulfed in the story.

I loved the voice of the witch!

I was also impressed by the music.

  • I remember watching this as a little kid, it was so emotional for me. Jajja. Now its just soo amazing how interesing this movie seems to me. I think this version is still more better than the new one. However the new one is pretty outstanding too.

  • Still brings tears to my eyes :(

  • Guess what, you're going to die too

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone else get chills when the Witch shouts "DIIIIIEEEEE!"?

  • AH! at 5:27 the witchs mouth stops moving!

  • I like this much more than the movie. That one is really bad, the plot has been changed, no doubt.

  • this is great! I watched it as a kid! I'm 23 now and I still love it....

  • im 20 and i remember this being on pbs at like 8pm weeknights

  • I'm 36 and I remember watching this when I was a kid (and it seemed old then)

  • T'was made in the 70's and is a swell version, especially for it's 70's campness.

  • I think the voice casting and music score are pretty damn good. Give them a break; it was the 70's and they had a limited budget unlike studios like Disney and Warner Bros.

  • How old is this?
