try the hotels on Victoria Island (e.g Eko hotel). Victoria island is a more bubbly area; and quite commercial. You can chill out @ the Galleria & Palm Mall. Traffic during daytime is no joke - I advise you add at least 30-45mins ahead of your outtings.
