  • VERY good review. I don't buy any type of major purchase without doing my research. I knew i wanted a better music experience than sub standard earbuds and so called "noise canceling" no name cheap-o's. In my search i've come across some rather expensive cans-Dr Dre being & Bose being the most expensive but not consistant in customer reviews. Ask ANY musician & they will tell you these are the way to go. Been around for many years for a reason! GREAT retro vibe that simply sound SENSATIONAL.

  • Hi, I just want to know how these headphones sound with portable mp3 players. I have e-series sony mp3 walkman. Do they sound strong on them? How is the bass and treble while using on ipod and walkman, especially with EQ settings set to nil. Actually, I have Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones and they sound very muffled without EQ's. With EQ's there is great jump in audio quality. Do MDR-V6 sound great on individual stereo systems with amplifiers or are they equally great on mp3 players(without Amps)Thnx

  • im choosing between these and MDR-XB700... what would you recommend???

  • @jamilka1225 I would go with the MDR-V6.

  • @jamilka1225 If you are mastering recordings... or if you want to hear a true representation of the original mix... use the V6/7506. The XB700 are nice phones, but are deliberately designed to have a heavy bass response.

  • should i get thees or the dj 700s

  • @TheBigdev23 It's up to you. Personal preference.

  • I need some headphones for school, are these durable? Do they have any bass?

  • @fatmangiggles1760 of course they have bass but they arent very sensitive so they might not be very loud with an ipod

  • @MrROTD What about any other mp3 device? I'm a bit picky because I just need some really good headphones for school. Do you have any other suggestions for different less expensive headphones?

  • @fatmangiggles1760 They are extremely durable, probably the most durable headphones out there. I know some people who've had them more than 10 years and they still work perfectly. Bass is not overwhelming because these are studio monitoring headphones meaning they wont have more base than trebs. This makes for the most clear and authentic sound quality, but just use your ipod or computer to boost up bass on their settings.

  • While I am typically not a fan of Sony products. I have to say, these cans are stellar. I work in film/television and have worn these for 14+ plus hours, standing on set recording dialogue and then gone home and laid in bed the same night when you'd think any normal individual would be ready to rip them off of their head and listened to music until I fell asleep. Bottom line, they're extremely comfortable, have extremely accurate reproduction of sound and no fatigue.

  • mdr-v6 or the mdr-7509hd

    wich one is better?

  • @NasseerBoss mdr-v6 is the best pair of heaphones on the market.

  • @AlohaBiatch

have you tried the mdr-7509hd? it's the newer version with frequency response up to 80Khz!

  • @NasseerBoss they cost about 150 bucks and the reason I didnt get them is there are too many fakes from China out there. BTW all sony studio headphones are made in thailand so if yours says made in china, they're fakies

  • Hi I had a question: Can I use them for like daily use? not for studio use but like listening to an Ipod and stuff? Bass and sound good in that condition??

  • @supernpstr Absolutely. Very good very clear sound response & comfortable to wear.

  • so, a lot of times, like you I'm doing something like podcast or a cover or filming something, and when I listen to it later there's a ton of background noise that I don't hear when I'm recording, will I hear it with these?

  • @IlluminateTenor Yes you can hear everything in crystal clear hd. I know cause i actully listened to this vid with my pair and you can hear a slight fshhh in the background. Great headphones and a great deal for the price too.

  • Great review Doug. I'm sold.

  • @Claudius2k Thank you. They are truly a great set of monitors. Try them out, you will hear sounds you've never heard in music tracks etc. You won't be disappointed.

  • Are these loud cause ive bought headphones in the same price range and they have good sound quality as far as clarity goes but they all have soft volume would you consider these loud?

  • @VietPlayer13 If you're asking if they will limit the volume you can pump into them from the source, no. Crank it up and they are loud. The importance here is not so much in decibel levels, it's the crisp, clear should replication you get from the MDR-V6's.

  • Best for djing this v6 our the 7506 ?

  • Sony's are great headphones

  • @DizzyDougTV or some other qualified person: I'm assuming since these are "studio" headphones, they ought to be very comfortable for extended wear, is this correct? I like to listen to music at work, so we're talking 8-10 hours of headphone wear per day. Are these a good choice for that?

  • @graceoverall I've never worn them for 8 hours on end. But I have worn them for 3-4 hours. The V6's are light, and very easy to wear for long periods of time. And very accurate in sound reproduction. They are a legend in the recording industry for a reason.

  • @DizzyDougTV Hey dude great review, I was considering buying these for trance and electronica music, is there good bass extension with these, I'm guessing they have a very neutral or flat response as they are used for sound engineering yea? Do you need lossless file formats for music to sound good or will 320kps sound ok?

  • Is this better than MDR-XB700? please let me know

  • Are these better than the MDR-V700?

  • can u use those headphones also just for listen to music on your iphone or something like that. ?? Please awnser

  • Just ordered these new from amazon. 65$. Can not wait till they get here!!! Hope they arrive in two days.

  • I got these for $44 :D

  • want

  • @111BRAZ111 "maybe i'd take you seriously if you had a pc". You get the award for the most ignorant and retarded comment.

  • i heard that these were way to tight and uncomfortable but never tried them my self

  • @KelleyBates The exact opposite, actually.

  • You bought those at Frys lol

  • @oleesquivel87 And? Why is that funny to you?

  • When you use these with an mp3, does the chord get in the way too much?

  • got noise cancelling?

  • People, get these instead of Beats by Dr. Dre. One of the best in the industry and if you research, it's almost an industry standard and among a favorite even til this day among studios.

  • I own a pair of dr. dre sadly and tbh i'd rather have my mdr-v6 and the remainder of money to look at then to have the studios...

  • @MinimeDrummerBoi hi. whats the bass like on these headphones????

  • @MinimeDrummerBoi the sony mdr-v6 have been on the market for more than 2 DECADES! They're pretty much the standard studio monitoring headphones and they only cost 64$ on amazon!

  • lol he can't just call it a laptop, he has to call it "my mac-book pro"

  • @skater1on1 I call it what it is.

  • @DizzyDougTV then you should call it a piece of shit.

  • @111BRAZ111 Tad bit jealous are we? I think so......

  • @skater1on1

because a laptop in windows and mac-book is apple. so those 2 things are 2 different things ;-)

  • Hi! I got a question. if you know amazon sell this for $7 less, why don't you buy it from amazon instead of fry's electronics?

  • can you remove the red Digital from the headphones?

  • so i have these , but theyre in pretty bad shape. the soft outlining on the ear pads are pretty much gone, only the spongelike inside is left. any way of fixing that ?

  • @EvoDude26 You can get replacement ear pads on ebay

  • I need help on on the fence should I get these or the MDR-V700s?

  • @DEATHMOBER1 if u want broken headphones in a month get the v700's if u wanna be happy get the v6's

  • Hey. great video. honestly one of the best, if not THE best review i've watched. definitely convinced me to get them :)

  • Hey man, great video!

These seem like the best headphones on the market for their price atm...

My only concern is if they allow single-sided monitoring for the purpose of cueing up songs while mixing...

    Thanks bro

  • Are they ok for younger kids, like 10-12 years old?

  • after watching ur video, I bought a pair too, these r amazing headphones.

  • Are these not the headphones that the rev ( drummer for avenged sevenfold ) wore live?

  • isn't there a new V7 out?

  • I just bought a pair of these from newegg for $70, should I buy an amp to go with these and my iPod? I heard these are the best headphones around next to the Ultrasone Edition 8 which are of course, $1500.

  • @DarkJohn55 yeah I know. I don't comment on videos without watching them, I was just hoping for a more thorough description.

  • How is the noise reduction on them?

  • @heyensha1, they reduce noise very well, even if used with ipod, mp3 and so on.. I recommend !

  • Comment removed

  • can these also be used for just casual listening to you ipod or what have you

  • @heyensha1 Yes.

  • @heyensha1 i think he even said that in the video man xD

  • v6 and mdr-7506 are the same headphones, one is for the consumer market and the other for the pro market, they are absolutely wonderful, and can last you many years, once the pads start to deteriorate (eventually they flake) you can replace them with the beyer velour pads, and they will be even better!

  • How is this V6 compared to the Sony MDR-7506?

  • Should I go for these or Sennheisers HD-280's? I cant decide :S

  • you do realize that the human ear can only hear between 20-20k Hz right? that said, the V6's are amazing for the price.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks for the info. I added them to my Amazon wishlist.

  • @ronknights Awesomeness...

  • how much is this??

  • @MyHakob Psssttt. Watch the video :)

  • They look HOTTTTTTT!!!!!!!

  • @deemota Thanks, Darren. I could definitely tell the difference last night on the podcast.

  • Those things look sweet, thanks for another great review.

  • @WickedVids4u Thank you. They are pretty awesome.

  • Those headphones look very nice! Very nice price also. I've never used over the ear headphones although if I ever am going to get some, I'll be looking at these for sure!

    ~Blake

  • @SupremeApps They do sound amazing, and are just the best i've used for podcasting.

  • This is ridiculous I don’t understand why you are not getting millions of views, you do these things like a professional and yet I see people who have no idea what they are doing getting more views this is definitely not fair. Anyway Dizzy keep doing what you do and know that you have a community that is following and that supports you man. Peace

  • @secretwarrior1500 One hell of a compliment. I thank you, kindly.

  • @SundlunHD Nope. I didn't. Thanks..

  • Once again, you've made me spent money

  • @T4ShowVideos I have that affect on people. I take my products and reviews seriously, and it shows by the amount of people who trust my opinions. i'm honored.

  • I've had the Sony MDR - V600 for a few years now and I love them. I got them for when I was doing video recording and now I use them when I vidcast.

  • @1979Iceman Nice.

  • @DizzyDougTV

I'm curious what the difference is in the V6 vs the V600. I might just have to go look up the specs on that.

Thanks for the videos, I'm glad I stumbled upon your youtube page. I found you when I was looking for something to record my Xbox 360 MW2 matches and thanks to you I found the perfect device.

Keep up the good work on these videos!

  • Great video Doug. Looks like a solid pair of headphones.

  • @BDogbz Thanks, yes, they are.

  • Nice headphones, heard a lot about them. Shame they don't have detachable cable.

  • @SchneiderStudios My AKG 241s did. And It can be a benefit. However, I don't need it.

  • cool I have the Sony MDR - V500 DJ Remix headset had them for a few years now,. actually I like to use them on my PSP while on single player games cause the sound is great.

Let me know how those work out for ya all around.

  • @bullboykennels I've owned them before as I mentioned in the video. And it was because I loved them that I went back to them. You hear things when you wear these bad boys that you don't otherwise when using less expensive headphones. Great for monitoring. And music sounds so much better with them as well.
