  • This was great, thanks for the video.

  • thanks!!!!!!Able to understand it very well now

  • WoooooT

  • Thank you so much, you're amazing. Very nicely explained! I just began Taekwondo, and tying the belt has been a thorn in my side until now.

  • he tyes it very wrong

  • No he didn't. And you spelled "ties" wrong.

  • tutorial very well expalined *****from Italy

  • Thank you! This is what YouTube should be about! It has been about 15 years since I had to tie a belt. I joined a new school finally and you would think belt tying is like riding a bike. Heh, not for me.

Thank you for this video. Simple and to the point.

  • you did a good job explaining thanks

  • thank you so much.

i'm JUST NOW tying it right. thanks.

  • There's one flaw in this video...it doesn't show you where the label/tag must be placed so it doesn't show once the belt is tied.

    This is, otherwise, excellent.

  • Ah! You're right!

If you want the label to end up on the inside, start it on the outside. If you want the stripes/name/whatever to end up on the left, start it out on the right.

  • Thank you very much! This helped me learn very well thank!

  • yeah thanks this vid is great! i remember watching this video right before leaving for my first tae kwon do class. it really helped. =) that was a month ago, and now i gots to wait two more months until i can test for a yellow belt

  • can you explain what tests are like. Are you suppose to be in a room alone with the masters, or as one big class. Cause im starting this today. Im a white belt and in a adult class.(im 13)

  • i´ve been training since i was 11 and now im 15 :D

the tests depend on the acadamy, but our exams are usually in a room with like 200 people more or less

but most places are just amongst your peers who are also taking the exam and your teachers

  • I LOVE YOU! I just started taekwondo and I'm close to my yellow belt exam, and I still can not figure out how to tie my belt! You saved me from humilation at my exam. THANK YOU!!!! :)

  • Thanks for uploading, this really helped...

Ive just started Taekwondo and I always forget how to get past the 1st tie ^w^

  • thanks man

  • lol what color is that? 0.o

  • really helpful thxz

  • Verry nicely described:) Just that the left side, belt was a litle bit shorter ;) Jin-Yang

  • One side is suppose to be a tad bit shorter

  • Thanks a lot dude!

  • Hi thx for video. and HidenMakimono i just joined my karate club, and just bought belt and wanted to learn that before training, if it will be wrong i think sensei will show me, but easier to have some experience :)

  • If you are learning how to tie your Belt on Youtube, let me ask you why your teacher didnt taught that when you first joined them....

  • Are there any rules for how long the ends of a belt should be when the belt is tied? I'm just wondering, because if that's the case, we'd have to take that into concideration when getting a belt, right?

  • Well, you don't want it to look like a bow tie, so a little long. However, if it is all the way down to your knee, sometimes when you kick, the corner of the belt can come up and hit you in the eye, which hurts. Usually, the size that comes with the uniform is about right. Mid-thigh.

  • Aha, that does make sense. Thanks for the tip! :)

  • koolies. His belt is very washed out...it looks grey lol.

  • I was taught...one time....long time ago...you

never wash your belt, especially your black belt. You're washing out years of training and hard work. My black belt is discolored and worn out. If it's grey, well Taekwondo is your

passion and life. peace and love and TKD!

  • Thanks alot; this is a great help.

  • Thanks, that helped a lot.
