I tried to do this for 30 minutes straight, and I switched to my left hand and did, what I thought was the worse one yet, and yet I got a haphazard applause & the heart piece. Wasn't as enthusiastic as this was but at least it's over.

For me it took actually holding the nunchuck and the wii-mote in one hand with the wire wrapped around my arm for me to get it. I kept getting knocked off from the timing because of how the wire would sway and register to the motion+.

You guys, I used to SUCK but here's some VERY useful TIPS:
-Do NOT try to play exactly as the audience their arms are positioned, just quickly play all the way to the left when they turn left, and all the way to the right when they wave right.
-Do this with quick motions instead of smooth ones, doesn't matter if it sounds like shit...
-Hold your wii-mote SIDEWAYS. Makes control WAY better.
-Just memorise the song, don't just watch the arms.
I got a perfect playtrough after following these steps, the reward isn't worth it at all but at least you'll have some feeling of accomplishment and you made a young girl in a video game happy...

I play clarinet and piano. I did decently the first time, but on my second playthrough, I failed, then minimally passed. I play in a band, so I should be able to follow arm movements, but let's face it, conductors conduct way better than these sky people!
When you get a decent she goes, "I... guess you could call that playing..." I thought Link should have had an option to say, "well I can't call that singing..." Stupid whore.
If you have the wii-motion+ dongle, and you're having an awful time with Link strumming randomly and bouncing around when you're trying to follow the rhythm, try turning the controller around so that the stupid dongle points at the TV. That's what fixed the idiotic problem for me. Lost every time before that - beat it first try pointed backwards.
They should have something similar to what they had for the windwaker but more for keeping the rhythm. I wish they'd had some dark nuts or something in this game, they kept throwing red bokoblins at you too much. Although, that horde battle was still probably one of the hardest fights in this game.
I couldnt do it like you. IDK what it is it's like the control doesnt work well on taht part of teh game the most. I have 2 Wii+ controls. The golden one from the bundle and a black one. Changing controllers didnt help. IDK what was going on but I managed to complete the quest at least.
I swear figuring out how the heck to play this silly harp is THE hardest thing about this game. 10 times more aggravating than any of the boss fights. AAAGH lol

I believe for someone to believe that this deserved a 10 has either not played and beat all of the Zelda games or they are easily satisfied. Either way to each his own, but, I'm faaaaarrrr from impressed. The secret to this stupid side quest is to play faster than you would to the beat, not as slow as they're moving their hands and not as slow as you normally play to the "songs" you "learn". Not too slow and not too fast translates to fast, but still pause at the right parts.
I'm so tired of going back in forth and being disappointed. I'm never picking up this game again when I finish it, Which will be very soon considering. It's like the Yu-gi-oh gx version of a Zelda game, definitely NOT a 10/10. Not if you've played ALL the other Zelda games Windwaker and twilight princess not included, they went from one extreme to the next, what made them think it would be a good idea to merge what was, in my opinion, two of the worst Zelda games in the franchise?
AND IN no game should you ever need to fight the same boss 8 to 11 times, not like try and fail but BEAT the same boss that many times in order to get ANYTHING even if its not required. As one of the dragons said sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, which is like the very definition of this game. I'm tired of leaving things behind because I need a cut scene, or because the person someone told me to talk to tells me to go talk to someone else at the place I just was.
There are some really annoying characters, too much text; if it takes that long to explain the story line it ain't worth it. The big bad may be big but it isn't that bad. You need a pouch to hold a place for your shield or extra quiver/bomb bags, satchels, and stupid fake hearts and there's just not enough room. Oh but, u get plenty of space for 'dowsing' stupid crap you would more likely than not find along the way. They hand you everything on a freaking platter.
But there is a lot about this game that the Zelda people got wrong, the music is one of the top things, the birds plain stupid-fun for about the first half hour; it reminds me of that stupid boat in Windwaker, I'm sorry the king of Hyrule, except less of a hassle, Ghirahim is stupid and his battles are boring and lame, there's only three pieces of real land.
This is seriously one of the worse parts of the game, and that's not saying much. I'm not only saying this because I was playing "off beat" but because there is no proper feedback when a person messes up, we weren't impressed doesn't tell me what I did wrong, but you played too slow or too fast would. Nof to mention I think it's seriously glitched for some people, I bet a lot of these people having issues can play the songs in your inventory without a hitch when they learn them.
ARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!! You never had to deal with this bullshit in Ocarina of Time!!!!!! Nintendo, please kick the fucker who desgined this minigame in the nuts! I never been this mad playing a zelda game since I played those shitty Zelda CDi games!

Took me about 10 attempts, worked out fine when i stood up just infront of the TV, about 1 meter away..Don't be missled by this videos rapid moves, i did smooth and slow moves..Not perfect score but i got my heart piece atleast.

If you have the wii-motion+ dongle, and you're having an awful time with Link strumming randomly and bouncing around when you're trying to follow the rhythm, try turning the controller around so that the stupid dongle points at the TV. That's what fixed the idiotic problem for me. Lost every time before that - beat it first try pointed backwards.

They should have something similar to what they had for the windwaker but more for keeping the rhythm. I wish they'd had some dark nuts or something in this game, they kept throwing red bokoblins at you too much. Although, that horde battle was still probably one of the hardest fights in this game.

I couldnt do it like you. IDK what it is it's like the control doesnt work well on taht part of teh game the most. I have 2 Wii+ controls. The golden one from the bundle and a black one. Changing controllers didnt help. IDK what was going on but I managed to complete the quest at least.

I believe for someone to believe that this deserved a 10 has either not played and beat all of the Zelda games or they are easily satisfied. Either way to each his own, but, I'm faaaaarrrr from impressed. The secret to this stupid side quest is to play faster than you would to the beat, not as slow as they're moving their hands and not as slow as you normally play to the "songs" you "learn". Not too slow and not too fast translates to fast, but still pause at the right parts.

I'm so tired of going back in forth and being disappointed. I'm never picking up this game again when I finish it, Which will be very soon considering. It's like the Yu-gi-oh gx version of a Zelda game, definitely NOT a 10/10. Not if you've played ALL the other Zelda games Windwaker and twilight princess not included, they went from one extreme to the next, what made them think it would be a good idea to merge what was, in my opinion, two of the worst Zelda games in the franchise?

AND IN no game should you ever need to fight the same boss 8 to 11 times, not like try and fail but BEAT the same boss that many times in order to get ANYTHING even if its not required. As one of the dragons said sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, which is like the very definition of this game. I'm tired of leaving things behind because I need a cut scene, or because the person someone told me to talk to tells me to go talk to someone else at the place I just was.

There are some really annoying characters, too much text; if it takes that long to explain the story line it ain't worth it. The big bad may be big but it isn't that bad. You need a pouch to hold a place for your shield or extra quiver/bomb bags, satchels, and stupid fake hearts and there's just not enough room. Oh but, u get plenty of space for 'dowsing' stupid crap you would more likely than not find along the way. They hand you everything on a freaking platter.

But there is a lot about this game that the Zelda people got wrong, the music is one of the top things, the birds plain stupid-fun for about the first half hour; it reminds me of that stupid boat in Windwaker, I'm sorry the king of Hyrule, except less of a hassle, Ghirahim is stupid and his battles are boring and lame, there's only three pieces of real land.

This is seriously one of the worse parts of the game, and that's not saying much. I'm not only saying this because I was playing "off beat" but because there is no proper feedback when a person messes up, we weren't impressed doesn't tell me what I did wrong, but you played too slow or too fast would. Nof to mention I think it's seriously glitched for some people, I bet a lot of these people having issues can play the songs in your inventory without a hitch when they learn them.

Took me about 10 attempts, worked out fine when i stood up just infront of the TV, about 1 meter away..Don't be missled by this videos rapid moves, i did smooth and slow moves..Not perfect score but i got my heart piece atleast.
