Hey guys, I've sat in that car in a private garage near denver Colorado. If you hear that engine rev up in person it is mind blowing. It has all original matching numbers and is awesome. It runs off either 96,97, or 98% octane fuel. You have to buy it by the barrel. I have a 1999 Porsche 911 and it won't start. If anyone has any experience with fixing Porsches or can help me out please contact me at jimmip2@gmail.com. The car has a full battery charge, but it won't turn over and I think it is
Holy Crap! You can tell how fast the car is going by how much the pitch of the engine changes as it passes. It changes by a perfect 5th! I've never heard it drop that much before!
This video has recorded in Yatabe test course where located in Ibaraki pref. in 1989.
The car is one of only 20 built all over the world and it is No.11.
Once car magazine 'Le Volant' desired to produce this video and asked me to help in cooperation with the car. Driven by ex-professional racing driver Mr.T.T.
It was the best car in my life without any doubt even though it was modified in very classical way. I had one another No.14 both in rally version.
I heard from a fan that this 911 is considered as 1 of the most valuable and rarest gem of the 911 series.... that only 50~70 release around the world... rite??? What was its specs that make it so special???
to KampaiSanta1999 - HI! rarest 911 indeed: shortly SC/RS badged the road going version of a racing modded 911 SC 3000 204 hp and was mainly sold to private racing teams to be upgraded for a full racing use or to fewest enthusiasts who asked for a more performing and exclusive 911 for daily use. The regular SC chassis had been enlightened by being equipped with basic interiors and fiberglass panels :in add. a stiffer set up and an uptuned engine made SCRS a joy for committed customers.
to pasterstevem - possibly an original 911 Carrera Turbo Look (very few units sold as it was so expensive).Substantially a Carrera 3200with the Turbo bodyshell.Rare trim indeed, among lots of aftermarket upgrades.
I also have an 82 SC. I was under the impression that because the turbo model would not pass emissions in America, a model was offered with the turbo models looks, but contained the 3.0L drivetrain.
Turbo bodied was 3.2 litre option.during the3.2( late 930) life span porsche management enriched the range with turbo bodied&"special wishes' department modifications2boost sales.America was MASSIVE market4porsche. The Targa range was mainly developed because there was a fear that America would ban fully convertible cars (look at contemporary US cars such as Corvettes who also developed Targa packages). So the idea that Porshce would develop a Turbo that WOULDN'T be4sale in US is illogical .
very true, the grey market 911's coming into the country were only 930s some were done to d.o.t specs others werent as fortunate , sc widebodys from the factory werent made 3.2 as in 84 and up started the turbo look package i believe its the m491 which basically is a turbo car without the motor, desirable to a person who cant afford the turbo but wants the brakes and basically the whole chassis and looks of it
in the 1980s most of the 911s saw the turbo/slantnose upgrades, the movie no mans land exemplifys what people used to try and pass off as a 930 or slantnose etc , 911 sc cars are the easiest and cheapest to upgrade as im sure were back then ,also dealerships were able to buy factory sheetmetal for porsche and modify the cars themselves if a well heeled customer wanted it
The 911SC RS is even rarer than the legendary RS 2.7 of 1973, only about 20 were ever made! The engine is based on the standard 3.0 SC engine, but has bigger ports and different camshafts, and uses Bosch mechanical injection (as opposed to CIS) . . . sounds great BTW, someone should make a replica of this car, enough 2.7 Carrera RS clones!
Is this a carburetor equipped car? Also, is it a four speed like the 930? I only see four gears used here. Awesome car anyway! We didn't get this in the US as a regular car...:)
very nice indeed! Makes a change to see decent Porsche footage, insted of all the boyracers in 944s doing donuts!no offence to 944 owners!! ( I once had a 944 s2 converable and it was superb)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this one of the Group B rally cars which never raced because the series got cancelled b4 they were finished.
cosmicdingo 1 year ago
@cosmicdingo Not really...
It has been homologated as a Gr4 car then as GrB in 85 and participated to the world rally championship. But not all the rallies.
In Belgium, it has been used for the national championship also...

I don't think so. As far as i'm aware they did turbo bodied 3.2s not SC (as 1982 year would suggest your model is)

God no, let the legend be, if there are clones they will just attempt and fail to be what that car is, and it just makes a mess.
