I really hate this album, because it ends, while it should never end. It's cruel that this album ends leaving you so high for letting you fall down so quickly, it's not fair!
Today is Earth Day 2011 and you can turn the lights out when watching a videoright now. Do that while watching and you will discover the meaning of life.
this track has....something...i dont know what...but its something that is just amazing and is the only song that does not make me feel great....it makes me feel strange....but in a good way , that is why this is my fav song of all time
i see some interesting replies, but when a sun eclipse happens, the dark side of the moon is being lit (i mean it has light, crappy english) and it's not anymore dark
of course we cannot see that, but it's sounds quite interesting to me
from that point of view, the album is not that pessimist
The album is about what you experience in life; lunacy, greed, aging, death, and violence. Eclipse shows that everything you do is null and void due to the fact that you will die in the end. Anything you do won't matter cause in the end you will die.
The final line "There is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact it's all dark" means that life and death is all one thing. It is all something that blends together and creates what we call life.
If you search "eclipse" on youtube alone. All this twilight shit will come up. The legendary song should be the first result, not all of that shitty fairy vampire crap.
@thedjhacker72 Not sure what woot means? But you said you want people to feel you. Where would you like them to feel you? I'm not sure if YouTube is an appropriate place to be advertising yourself in such a way!
Brilliant music, just right for a severe grey January afternoon. The utterance "there is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact it's all dark" is one of the most sinister things I've ever heard. Thank God it's not true.
@ivorlottandtonybroke I think it's more of an astrological reference to death. I mean, this is the last track on the album and I have always considered Dark Side of the Moon to be about the life's cycle.
Eclipse on the Solstice ! has not happened in like 400 years ~ Crazy . Great time to be alive . I am waching the Eclipse right now. The moon looks dark ~ Be there is no dark side of the moon really ..lol
I WROTE ECLIPSE ON THE SEARCH TO FIND THIS SONG AND I THOUGHT THE FIRST ONE WAS A MUSIC VIDEO TO THIS SONG BUT IT WAS A MOVIE OF A GAY VAMPIRE! WHAT IM DOING WRONG?
Listen to this song picturing the world falling apart, the apocalypse happening around you, yet you're with friends, shoulder to shoulder singing, screaming out of your lungs, the lyrics to this song. This is how I would like it all to end.
Oh man, I used to listen to these songs under the stars with my girlfriend whenever we went hiking, it was amazing, you could see everything...I think I need to start doing that with her again, those moments were pretty much the highlights of my life so far.
Will we be hearing about Little Miss Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga in 40 years? No fucking way. Will we still be hearing Eminem and fucking lil Wayne or whatever he's called in 40 years? No fucking way. Will we still be hearing Pink Floyd, the Beatles and all those other classics? YES. Because they have talent. There are always talentless "popular" musical products (refuse to call them musicians), but the classics will always live on.
This album pretty much concludes everything there is to live as a human. I would like to hear this song in my final moments, and recollect everything i touched or saw, loved or hated, borrowed or stolen, created and destroyed palpitating the eclipse of my existence as is the death of every human being. I am profoundly happy to breathe in a world where geniuses as pink floyd exist and compose music for us mere mortals, but nevertheless unique as composition of life experiences.
Such a beuatiful and poetic song, all in 2 minutes, great conclusion to a great track.
"and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon." an ethereal way of saying all that is good in the world is in our grasp, but the darkness calls us with its vapid delacies..
This was one of those songs that made me stop in my dead in my tracks the first time I heard it. I remember exactly where I was and everything...that was about 3 years ago, and it still has the same effect on me today.
It's mid-70s & we're having a Christmas party (we'd be arrested by the PC gestapo today!) before winter break. A friend Terri brings this album Dark Side of the Moon I've never heard & a few friends are blown away at that. So she puts it on.
My entire take on music was changed with that 1st listen! Decades later they're still my favorites. Fantastic textured melodies, great dynamics, intelligent lyrics. It holds up just as well today. Like all great music this will hold up through the ages.
My english teacher loves Floyd, he plays Dark Side, Echoes, The Division Bell etc. Trying to get us to catch onto the music and try to get the meaning of it. He IS the greatest english teacher ever. He really teaches us about it. And one or 2 times he even told us about him Tripping on Acid to The Dark Side..
can some1 plz explain this 2 me, if music is all about your taste, then why do we hate kesha, i mean i love pink floyd, but obviously kesha has a lot of fans and dont we have to respect kesha as an artist, just as they have to respect that we love the pink floyd, u know that kesha fans can come up here and make fun of us for loving pink floyd, as we make fun of kesha
@pagani43 Theres a Faint heartbeat if you listen closely. The albums a conceptual album, it all tells a story. This album starts with a heartbeat, and ends with a heartbeat. Like life.
All that you touch All that you see All that you taste All you feel. All that you love All that you hate All you distrust All you save. All that you give All that you deal All that you buy, beg, borrow or steal. All you create All you destroy All that you do All that you say. All that you eat And everyone you meet All that you slight And everyone you fight. All that is now All that is gone All that's to come and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.
