  • Looks like a late 80's K-223. Probably a 1987 model due to the fact that it has the larger 8 screw grills.

  • i dont think this is a k223.... no its definitely no,t its a 3rd gen lakewood, still something worth getting...

  • Did you ever retrieve the fan?

  • @MADDOG6400: The door was locked up completely, so I wasn't able to retrieve the box fan.

  • keep an eye on the building. watch to see if they clean it out. mostlikly if they bring a dumpster. they may trash the fan. or take it. so if u can keep an eye on the building. it could be a while before anything is done. so right away if u see it beign cleaned out and gone. check a dumpster asap. u could get it. and if u do someday. we can get a handle. its rare to find a lakewood with it missing as they were well made. good luck

  • @locohog91: I don't live in the area thats closest to this building where the abandoned Lakewood box fan is although I live on the westside, but I'll try to check back on it somehow...

  • if the buildign sells or its cleaned out, it will most likely be put in the dumpster. so if u see anyone cleanign it out and its gone check the dumpster if any. they may bring one to clean up. try to watch it if u can, but it coudl be a while. we can get u a handle too . should u get it. its rare to see a lakewood handle missing. since they were well made

  • @locohog91: The building has since been closed and abandoned and the entrance doors front and back were locked up or sealed up completely. But if the building is being cleared out and the box fan is in the dumpster, I'll try to get it and take it home before it gets disposed for good...

  • @baul104 nows your chance, if the building is nearby. i woudl try first thing in the morning. good luck!!

  • @locohog91: I'll check to see if there is anyone clearing out the building the next day before getting the box fan inside...

  • @baul104 keep me informed, i hope you get it

  • @locohog91: I will, and thanks.

  • Will it get destroyed along with the building or will they have a demolition sale?

  • @gatrwrks: I don't know, but I doubt it'll get destroyed or junked, but I'm pretty sure it'll get sold--somehow...

  • I actually remembered those fans as a kid with the ghetto Kmart logo and everything! Nowadays, it's more convenient to have an installed fan on the ceiling.

And these fans did a GREAT JOB too! Who knew something as simple as a fan would bring me strolling down memory lane! :)

  • That's a full size 3rd Gen K223.

  • @professorkiwi: Okay, thanks for the tip!

  • Why don't you retrive it?

  • @gatrwrks: There is no way that I can retrieve it because the front door and back door were either locked up or completely sealed. Also, this building has since been closed for who knows how long...

  • That appears to be a late 80s K-Mart 223 3rd gen plastic bladed fan... Except it has the larger cabinet (which I've always wanted one of those types).

  • @spatsbear2: Oh, okay. Thanks!
