mmm wrong runway buddy. in MSFS they only have the one runway that is still active, and the other parallel runway is rendered as a wide road. but in reality, they are both very similar in length, width, and texture. the only difference is that the parallel is the drag strip. you shouldve landed on that dritish looking road parallel to the real runway
bad remake! it probably didn't went like that! you should take that again? do you have any flight detailes!? then it would be much eacier, just feed those flight detailes from that plane crash to the flight simulator!? but is that possible to do that on your own flight simulator and even get those details!? older planes were probably easier handle without any engine trust, but today when there is less wing area!? would that be possible to do that again with new planes! probably harder, ,maybe!?
while the both children were playing around the old runway, those children saw the plane too late. If the 767 hav a horn they could get away earlier or die!
#1- Bob Hoover used to shut the engines of his Shrike down and do a lot of energy conservation maneuvers...when he flew past with the engines shut down the plane was as noisy as when the engines were a Cruise power.
I was surprised...the airframe makes an amazing amount of noise.
#2- American Airlines allowed the Gimli scenario to be set up on their state of the art simulators and nobody could duplicate the successful landing.
@nfs506 18 dollars is a very very cheap. I remember when price for typical PC simulator was over hundred dollars. Simulators used to be cheap because they are not so popular as their are considerably less attractive to typical gamer. They are too hard to master.
Well yeah. It was a real crash that actually happened. This video is basically him reenacting it in flight simulator. It's not meant to be a smooth approach/landing - it's meant to show roughly what happened.
Luckily, the nose gear did not locked, because if it did,the plane would have ran into the kids infront of it!Later on,the plane flew again, nicknamed The gimli glider! There is an Air Crash Investigation episode "Gimli Glider" about the accident
No it didn't, but I imagine that if the simulator was not super complex, it wouldn't allow for no nosegear lock, thus making the simulated landing a succesful one.
There is a movie about this staring William DeVane. It is intense. While I was watching it I was stressed and then after I found out it was a true story. Wow.
@FSXfan007 most of the noise coming from an aircraft is created by the air interacting with its surfaces; not the engines (except obviously at TOGA power). example, listen to the roar of the space shuttle as it glides down and lands!
@FSXfan007 Let me tell you something. Not because the engines are off doesn't it mean that the sound has to be off. Engines like a "Rolls royce" Will still be able to react on something. So if the engines are turned off. They can still make sound!
if you listen carefully, you can barely hear the voices in the cockpit on the tape, you NEVER hear engines or such in cockpit recordings, just the alarms, conversations and such, I am assuming the loud rushing sound is the wind coming through the side window/s. I would certainly appeciate the need to feel the air to keep me focused.
He means by the Flight Simulator, the creator of this vid just used Movie maker or something to cover up the original sound with a recording (probably of wind), and just enhanced the wind SFX to make it seem like it was in the exterior of the aircraft.
No they didn't get sucked into the engines, they were some what 1/4th of the runway of the other side, and the plane was landed but still going pretty fast, then they noticed so they tried to out run the plane somehow in the end the plane stopped, I believe the tire bursts and the kids were like a small amount of meters away from the plane or so.
lol i was being sarcastic. what i heard was that the front gear didnt hold and broke so there was more drag as the nose of the plane came in contact with the ground. if this didnt happen i heard, the plane wouldnt have stopped. also when the plane rammed into the railing it also helped slow it down. from what i heard these two factors played a major role for stopping it from causing more destruction.
The guard rail, saved the passengers, plane, and go-carters. If the rail wasn't there, the plane would have hit the 2 children, skidded the runway, caused a fire, and there would be casualties.
8- The pilots landed on the drag strip. That is the main runway, next to it is the grass runway (used for Cadet glider ops and not that visible in real life), in RL, the drag strip is just to the left of the grass runway.
This plane is still in service, the accident was caused by a miscalculation of fuel to weight conversion of the ground crew, resulting in half the fuel needed to be used for the flight to be pumped into the aircraft. And the fuel gauge proccessor was dead. The video didn't really depict the attitudes of the aircraft correctly, as it really was slipping to the left, not the right... Other than that, it was fine (but why FS2004)
yes he was cause he was coming in way toooo fast. i think its lucky his nose gear did not catch or else those two boys on the runway would be killed along with everyone on board.
