    Gospel Truth...

    ~

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4

  • thats a good ol baptist church swinger!!!! lol go head james!!!!

  • Excellent piano playing!!!

  • Charles Nicks is on the organ and Herbert Pickard on the piano. Both were from Detroit. Herbert played for the Voices of Tabernacle and Charles was not pastoring St. James.

  • another new song by the great late rev james cleveland - thank you for this posting !!

  • I like this song. What album is this song from?

  • @draper71: I'm not at home right now, so I can remember the exact volume it comes from, but I want to say James Cleveland & Angelic Choir VOLUME 7 or 8. It's sad that only VOLUMES 3 & 4 are the only ones on CD.

  • @Rowoches Thank you for the information. Your right it's sad only volumes 3 & 4 are the only ones CD. They should release a greatest hits for this choir. Be Blessed!

  • @draper71 It's "James Cleveland and the Angelic Choir Volume 7" for certain.

  • I believe the piano player here is not the great James Cleveland but instead is Herbert Pickard (see Hayes and Laughten, Gospel Discography, 1943-1970). I agree the piano playing is outstanding! I play piano at our Holiness Church in Alabama, so I always pay attention to the keyboards. Whoever is playing here is anointed!

  • OMG I FEEL HIM!!! GLORY!!!

  • You betta go'head, I say!!

  • Do you have "Every Man Needs God"? I love the piano work on that song...I tell these young keyboardist how skillful we had to play back in the day. We had to handle the percussion as well as the melody...that was some work.

  • I,m a young musician but all my keyboardist skills I learn them all from Rev James Cleveland.

  • Well, James did ask for a witness.

Yes! Yes! Yes! she was a witness,.LOL

  • Wasn't she though lol!!!

  • Amen, everytime i hear "can i get a witness", i say do you want one, she answered the call...

  • No, on the piano. That neat but intricate, subtle but soulful style is pure PeeWee. Nobody else has his touch.

  • Oh, ok...it kinda sounded like James Cleveland's playing to me. I really do appreciatiate the clarification.

  • The Kind himself is on the piano.

  • It is James Cleveland on the piano. He play piano on all the angelic choir record during this time.

  • Gospel's greatest pianist, Herbert Pickard, is cooking all

    the way through.

  • On the organ, right?

  • Rowoches, the organist on this album was Charles Nicks; Herbert Pickard played the piano.

  • they sound good for being in the 60's they are on fire

  • There are many choirs that sounded good back during that time. Sho'nuff!

  • If Have Any More Songs Off Of This Album You have Got To Post Them. Because This Is just like FIRE SHUT UP IN MY BONES!!!

  • Glad you like it.

  • Alright now!!! Gohead,Go head!!!

  • Work 'em, Rev.!!!!

    Good post Bro. Rowoches!!!
