I like that you have the instructional videos from CSS up as you do this. Haha. Good videos thought, and CSS is my favorite place to buy Saiga parts. Also I LOVE the Saiga. Part because it's a true Russian rifle and by Izmash to boot, and I'm a nerd about that stuff. Also my Saiga 7.62 was my first gun 6 years ago. ( I was 14 then) haha.
Fred, Thank you so much for taking all the time and extra effort to film this conversion. I know it made it much more difficult, but it was a great learning experience for me, and I'm sure it was for many others. Have you shot it yet? How's it shoot?
Fred, Don't worry man. Your videos are always great and informative. That turned out to be one bad ass looking rifle at the end. Much better than the stock import version. Happy New year buddy!
Congratulations Fred, for getting through this video without cursing!! ;-) I was wondering whether everything would fit immediately, now we know!! ;-) Job well done!!
And people wan't to take them away from us. Its not about fighting people, or hurting people. Its about making fond memories, about being able to have something that is useful, something that will last a lifetime, and being able to pass those memories down the line. I saw the look, and joy you expressed in the building of that. Cheers enjoy your not Dr.Pepper.
Wow duracaot must not be very strong. It looks like it scratched the side a little bit. I was gonna duracoat my Kimber but was worried about the strength.
@Mrcaffinebean They will, but some require you to take off some of the metal on the mag catch. It's simple. If you're lucky, it'll just fit, but if not, it takes 3 minutes to do.
@fredhart I tried to watch this video but every time I got to the placing of the last screw of the trigger guard, I got cut off and it would not continue, and so I am trying to watch it again . I don't have one of those guns, but I'm currently putting myself through, gunsmith courses through Penn and Foster.
it looks really good are you going to do the front end later on and add a muzzle break or leave it the way it is? great job and hope you enjoy shooting it!
@mark16443 I don't think I will be putting a muzzle break on it anytime soon. My next project will be installing the bullet guide so I can use standard AK mags.
though*
