@Flippie19 That's because F-14's take of without afterburner - like the F-15, and then at the end of the runway the pilot engages afterburners so he and RIO could climb faster in the Tomcat. The problem with you my friend is that you have never saw F-14 Demo or F-15 Demonstration Flight and you clearly don't now anything about this two great Aircraft, so you don't now their capabilities. SO, IT'S JUST YOU!!!!!!!

nope. the a-10 is the best ground attack plane flyin'! it isnt a fighter because it provides no air-to-air combat. it does not intercept any aircraft at all. and if it was a fighter, it would have a prefix like the F/A-18 Hornet "Fighter/Ground Attack"

i am not saying im right and your wrong. i could be very much wrong. but that is my interpretation of it. ill ask my uncle ed, he used to work on the f-16's turbofans.

Well I still think shes the best jet out there whether she still in service or not. Besides the F-14 was a jet that didn't rely totally on computers to fly like the F-22 does and the pilot could override the the wing sweep mode at his discretion if chose to do so. don't get me wrong the F-22 may be the future and a good plane in it's own right but it can't totally live up to the F-14 until it gets a few more missions under it's belt!

doesnt matter if the pilot uses computers, uts said that the f-22 out performs any aircraft. the f-14 used to be my least favorite plane, but watching and learning about it makes me feel better about it. after all, it did its job!

but dont leave out the a-10, though it isnt a fighter, it is fantastic!

What was happening here? an airshow? That F14 weren't hanging about, I live right near RAF Lakenheath and see F15s all the time and its nice to know that they don't just fly them boring over here. A10s were awesome too great shooting.
