  • yes and i have done it some many times solo!

  • in response to being overly safety conscious. When just starting out most just want to get in air and aren't able to accurately detirmine if conditions are within their abilities. Just because you didn't get hurt, doesn't mean you made the correct choices. The FAA has largely left our sport alone. If we don't remain safety conscious the FAA could end up regulating our sport out of existance. We have already lost flying sites due to accidents and poor communtity relationships. Fly Safe.

  • It was thrill of a lifetime to get to do this ! And what an adrenaline rush ! Lookout Mountain is a great facility.

  • When its time to soar, reach for the ramp next time. no noise, no exhaust. run,run,run....

  • I learned to fly at this location. Eventually, the other pilots took the fun out of HG'ing because of being so overly safety conscious, they constantly grill the new pilots. Cannot take it.

  • As a regular pilot who has seen what it is like to watch a friend fail to be overly safety conscious. I have to say I am proud to read this.

It is the responsibility of all pilots to protect the reputation of our sport by encouraging new pilots to respect their role is flying safe. Or discorage them from flying at all.

  • It is one thing to be cautious and safety conscious. That is important. It is another thing to take the fun out of something. It is the pilot's life and only the pilot's life at risk. People should let people make mistakes if they want to. That is called "thinning the herd." You cannot stop people from being stupid whether gliding or whatever else they embark on. Sorry if you lost a friend. Accidents can happen to anyone at anytime doing anything, though.

  • A superior pilot is one who uses his superior judgement to avoid situations which might require the use of his superior skill. The most critical times when flying a hang glider are the launch and landing, so in my opinion (and many other pilots I'm sure) one can never be overly safety concious.

  • Wonderful video! Great job

  • Paul,

Because of your encouragement I was able to experience my childhood dreams of flying. It was beautiful and amazing. It was indeed the perfect gift for out 1st wedding anniversary. Until we find ourselves soaring like birds again; I can relive that special day through your video. Thank you for being so wonderful to me. I love you with all my heart. You really are my hero.

    San

  • OMG! Like this is awesome! I was here and felt the same way! Awesome video!
