I'd imagine that the cat believes that the beeping is a bird it can kill, and is trying to reach it. I'm a firm believer that everything people believe is cute in cat behaviour has a survival-based reason behind it.

Is there something with these orange cats that make them larger than others. We have the exact same cat, male, named Toby, and he is a big boy, and I thought he was just fat, but every time I see the same type, they are always the same size. Any who, ours also enjoys hanging out on the elliptical, sadly it does not go back and forth and meow as awesomely as yours does.
