They are the best sort of pianos IN a keyboard I have heard, and I purchased the NX, and am really upset/annoyed that I'm having to return it, because of the processor not being able to handle SN pianos. When playing about 8 notes (sometimes less) you get a horrible 'cut off' sound, very unnatural and not SUPER! Apparently the problem is much worse when adding this add-on to the GX. Roland are not going to fix it, so I'm lost with what to buy now. Very annoying...

This problem occurs both in the new NX and in the GX expanded by the K-RD700GX1 board.

In the Roland clan forum there's a discussion about this particular problem.

(youtube doesn't let me post the URL, just search for note stealing effect).

An alternative is Yamaha's CP-5 which is just as good.

@ichbinsnur2000 I have heard of this problem too and it sounds dreadful! I have the 700GX with Supernatural expansion and lucky it is a a good model. They do sound simply fantastic (and when working they are slightly better than the CP-5 actually). Great for recording and stunning live.

I'm afraid you can't.

The board is designed especially for the GX and includes an OS-update which is essential.

It's not a normal SRX-board.

I had preordered the board just after Namm 2010 at my local dealer (Germany).

He charged me 329.- €
