Praise our Lord God and His Glorified Son Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. I still listen to Underground Hip Hop and the Old School and it does amp up my flesh but I don't listen to it everyday. I know that the Lord is faithful to us and I'll need to pray about listening to it.

Before I was saved, rap was one of my most favorite genre of music. That was my "old man". But now that I am a new creature in Christ, I hate rap music. It is of the world. What I cannot understand are those professed christians that listens to or played "christian rap music". We cannot mixed the Lord's cup with the devil. I John 2:15 1 Corinthians 10:21

I agree with you brother. I rarely listen to music anymore but when I do I am very selective. (If it's making money, I prob don't even want to hear it) I've been saying for a few years that [almost] all christian music reeks of flesh, but most cannot receive it. Music is their world. "Don't judge if you don't want to be judged." is a nice politically correct phrase to say, but it will never lead people toward repentance. I know that you know this brother. If the music doesn't lead us toward worship or praise of the Lord then it's probably just exciting our flesh. I can relate to much of your story, especially the drugs part. To God be all glory!

When I was young I played Rock almost every day. When I gave myself to Jesus I started playing gospel only. Now Rock and Gospel Rock makes me feel sick inside. It doesn't set well with the Holly Spirit sealed inside of me. I can only hear Gospel songs that have a beautiful melody and loving words about our Lord. There is one song that I LOVED and listened to all the time then one day I truly focused in on the lyrics & realized the lyrics was about believing that there was no God/Jesus and that we were only made from The remaining particles from the Big Bang & God had nothing to do with it. I was SHOCKED that I did not realize what the lyric was truly saying. The deadly message was hidden within a great beat and groovy chorus.

Thank you for sharing your testimony , and your so right, its true we do as christians need to be very careful of compromise when it comes to things like christian music . I do beleive that there are "some " genuine artists out there who do love the Lord and He uses them with their testimony to help bring others into the kingdom , but I believe that they too need to be very careful to not compromise with the world.
