thanks for the tutorial, i've been searching for this. mainly because i've done all of the steps before just as you describe and while the dvd plays in any mac that i place it in, it doesn't seem to work in a standard dvd player. am i missing something? (it's always that ONE button, lol).
thank you for the help, i really, really appreciate it.
This tutorial is EXCELLENT.I'm new to compressor and dvd studio.Normally I use a more simplified program(imovie)and heard that fcp offered a lot more when it came to video editing.Long story short I challenged myself to work a project using fcp, compr & dvd studio.Challenging it was and I would not have made my dead-line if it wasn't for your "simplified tutorial using compressor .I looked at several tutorials ,but just couldn't grasp the concept as easily as I could with this one. Thanks again!!
I would buy a DVD from you guys on all things DVDSP. I have such a difficult time with DVDSP that sometimes I just go back to IDVD. I don't get why DVDSP has such an impossible time dealing with HDV files, but IDVD can just work with them and convert them to Mpeg movies without the user having to jump through hoops. Bullet point instructions from you guys make things so easy but I'm not in a position at work where I can sign up for classes. My manager would purchase training DVDs though.
Very helpful. Thank You! I'm assuming if I wanted to fit 2 or more hours on a DVD and still have the 90minute 'quality' I'd have to own/burn on to a dual layer DVD?
very good, but im curious. why dont you export using compressor right out of fcp? Why make a reference movie then bring it into compressor? im new to mac and ftc.
Sorry I know you didn't ask me but I believe the reason for this is time and also it has no effect on the quality doing it with the reference. Then he can simply grab the reference that is practically like a link to the source clip.
Also compressor allows quicktime movies to go into DVD studio pro smoother as I found it has trouble just trying to import the quicktime clip straight into studio pro.

Is that better than going from fcp> share > DVD> send to compressor?
