Remarkable! Those passes! That range! She's my new fave. Two things stood out for me:

1. Most of her FGs were made during motion (fadeaways, leaners, floaters, etc)... from ANY RANGE! That's incredibly difficult-- for anyone.

2. Her release is not at the peak of her jump, but slightly before. It's quick, smooth and it could catch a defender by surprise. If her opponent doesn't pay close enough attention, they will always be late to the block.

@xJewlz08x While I am a huge fan of Maya, the play that Diana made at 2:20 was simply clutch and certainly did not have ill intent. She blocked Douglas' shot and was falling out of bounds so she threw the ball off of her leg to gain possession. It was in an ELIMINATION GAME of the WNBA FINALS in the 4th quarter, so the Mercury absolutely had to win that game and did. Throwing the ball off a player while falling out of bounds is a common play in bball and Diana was just trying to win the game.

While I generally do not enjoy watching WNBA basketball (although I appreciate the fundamentally sound play all around), DT and a few other players are very fun to watch. Taurasi is not only very fundamnetally sound and has all of the skills you want in a perimeter player, she is just fun to see play.

There is so much hoopla about the few dunks in the WNBA when the focus should be more on the much more abundant displays of very fluid and dynamic perimeter and midrange play.

@keshealm The way that the women's game has evolved and improved over the course of a decade is astounding. The game is much more athletic than it was ten years ago when Cooper and Swoopes played and dominated in the WNBA. I prefer Cooper between the two of them but I still think that Taurasi will go down as the greatest ever. As you know, she already has won everywhere she has played, but her game as an individual player is far more advanced than Jackson or even Parker could ever dream of.
