  • wow Chinese must be worried or curious look at the most popular map, china is almost as green as U.S

  • I got to help make this happen. It was pretty sweet.

  • what about those engineers that powered that plant? some recognition?? please?

  • this wat holy shit

  • Nice Work, just awesome...!

  • '

america can use missile / rocket to hit and destroy all china satellites, india satellites, iran satellites, north korea satellites, ussr russia satellites

  • Lockheed Martin is godly.

  • God Bless America!

  • The best result is the statement that AEGIS is able to engage targets higher than 200km and faster than 7km/s. AEGIS,we know,is a naval self-defense system!

  • @anisocoro Keep in mind that the AEGIS is 1960's tech! Pretty dammed good defense system. Its radar has no moving parts in it, can pump 6 MEGAWATTS of raw RF energy down a single degree, called a "zorch". If you hit by that much energy, you might be making funny looking kids afterward.

  • Well, AEGIS isn't exactly 1960s tech -- sure it's started back then, but the SPY radar is still evolving as is the technology aboard the ships... regardless, still impressive!

  • @captainjim1 Actually the Ticonderoga/AEGIS system came on line in the late 70's.

  • @sakoshooter48 Late 80s actually.

  • @sferrin2 No, fleet in 1979.

  • @sakoshooter48

1st Aegis ship wasn't even commissioned until 1983 so how do you figure?

  • Where were you when this happened?

Me I was eating chow watching Borat

  • They say microwave frequency cuts right through the brain like butter, is that why so many people are having melt downs?

  • good job

  • Imagine a WWII style picket line of these ships;)

  • What does this mean? We have been able to disable spy satellites for awhile. This is just a show off

Good work tho, its pretty cool stuff!

  • listen to the first statement on the video. we lost comm with it almost immediately after deployment. can't send it the distruct command if it can't hear you.

  • ? This was a different problem. This thing was madly spinning in a decaying orbit and since it was malfunctioning half the tells the IR seeker looks for weren't there

  • An impressive technical achievement, but what's with the Jerry Bruckheimer soundtrack?

  • Outstanding. Screw you Pacifists. Great Job Lake Erie.

  • Too much hype little substance.

  • your "we keep our country defended" will destroy the planet one day if u dont calm ur "patriotism" down...go to schools, educate yourselves then post some smart comments please. WoW you are so proud...you can destroy a sattelite in orbit...and 50% of your poppulation can't find america on the world map...you have the greatest percentage of crime on the planet...narcotics everywhere, retards leading you to wars you dont actually need...what more to say...dissapear, we will repopulate ur continent

  • you sound like an extraterrestrial "we will repopulate your continent" oh, thanks enjoy all the mcdonalds, hip-hop, basketball, drugs that you also have in your crapy country

  • Rabican030, you are such an ignorant pussy. Educate yourself with a little bit of reality. Come out from behind your wall of tenure and join us in the real world, you coward.

  • oh right, so I can have access to 10,000 channels, and be able to watch the Discovery Channel in Swahili

  • wait so why the f are we putting it up there if its so f'ing dangerous.

stupid waste of money in my opinion

  • The gas in the satellite is only harmful to humans over long exposures and indoors! If a satellite falls to earth i doubt anybody would take it into their house. Space Debris falls to earth all the time at there is no need to destroy it before it does, this is only an excuse for Bush to reassert himself and militarize space

  • Usually it´s the third world countries that have to take their pride of things like these. Hmm... i think the Soviet Union had military parades almost every day when their people where starving.

I´m not saying that the operation wasn´t impressive, but do you really think it´s appropriate to show off such spending on military, when it´s clear to see that the U.S should spend its money on more fundamental things. Like the well-being of its people.

  • Good job, from the heaving deck of a ship at sea and able to track and hit a satellite in orbit. It is not like a satellite is not moving very fast, so it had to be a very difficult thing to accomplish.

  • You americans are so easy!

It would have taken the satellite days to come down. Evacuation would have been easy. They just use this kind of BS to justify your insanely high defence budget.

  • your just jealous your country can't afford anything.

    Piss off mate.

  • My country can afford: Free schools (all schools, incl universities), free healthcare, free libraries, next to free sportfacilities for everyone.

You can shoot down a non threatning satellite, while your ghettos are full of people who can barely read. Whuppee!

  • Evacuation may have been easy but the satallite could have fallen into the hands of rival nations. Plus they got advance their military technology which they might need in future wars and show the Chinese that they aren't the only nation that can blow up stuff in space.

  • very nice

  • CONGRATULATIONS!

  • wtf? that was the most retarded animation ever!! the only way i would have been REMOTELY interested is if they actually showed they firing of the missile...

  • Wowmovieman12, they *did* show the firing of the missile -- that part wasn't animated, it was filmed on the ship.

As for the animation of the missile in flight, yes, it's poor compared to current CGI, but it's been the standard for simulation of space flight for many years. Those of us who go back to the days of Apollo are kinda used to it.

  • I've been on YouTube for like 3 days, and these are the most retarded comments I've ever seen.

I love the ones that are like "lawl fuck bush".

Enjoy your extra chromosomes dickwads, fuck YouTube.

  • I have no other descriptor for you other than tard.

  • aletaka, how do you figure that from this??? They are destroying a satellite that had the potential to kill thousands. They took it out in a harmless fashion to save lives. How in the HELL is that disgusting? Do you not understand what was going on here? They did a mission to destroy a dying satellite that -- had it been allowed to simply crash to earth -- could have had the radioactivity that could have killed thousands. They saved lives.

  • well... are u saying to me that rockets are used to destroy satelites? oohh yeah!! oohh yeahh!! of corse.... they project rockets to destroy satellites.... how can i do this mistake.. i´m so sorry... the north american are so ecologial and friendly...

  • Hey, look what China did to their weather satellite.

  • What an over bloated PR video. They should just plant some C4 in all their satellites to destroy them when they become obsolete or malfunctioning. How's that for cheap and efficient.

  • How'd it take them 6 weeks to plan and execute the destruction of a satelite.

Maybe if they had to wait for the satelite to be in the right place...but still

Just shows you where all those tax dollars go :(

  • It's nice to know that with all the trash we have in America, there are still some men who work to keep this nation defended and who know what matters while everyone else tends to their petty politics.

  • Great video, but I could have done without the jingoistic music. Keep up the good work otherwise.

  • Basically just an excuse for Bush to tell the world "don't fuck with us or we'll shoot down your satellites."

  • Actually, that was China. They decided to be jerks and shoot down an old weather satellite in high orbit. It created so much trash and junk up there, it was a complete mess.

  • Wer Waffen sät, wird Krieg ernten.

  • What is this slap happy video for? They're talking about how momentous it was and how it wouldn't be possible without all of these people. We shot down a satellite from a F-15 over 20 years ago. Get over yourselves people -- this is nothing new.

  • spoken like the truly clueless. The missile used was smaller than the one launched from the Eagle and it was launched from a SHIP. HUGE difference. Thanks for playing.

  • OK so faster, smaller, cheaper, better is the natural order of things. A quantum leap over the past 23 years? I don't think so. Thanks for playing. This was nothing spectacular.

  • sweet

  • God Bless America
