  • best part of the movie omg.

  • its like the worst flu u have ever had.. and worst part is knowing its just a shot away for u to feel better/normal and even high its hard as fuck!

  • what r the pills their taking?

  • Comment removed

  • oh god, having to give birth to a dead baby... i couldn't even imagine.

  • @anditspaganpoetry She did it to her baby ! She killed her baby!

  • @jerzeytpke how did she give birth to her baby?? it was a fucking miscarriage, due to stress from getting over the addiction. perhaps you should take health classes again. miscarriages are common and happen to most women, and usually are a result of nothing.

  • @anditspaganpoetry WATCH THE MOVIE SHE GAVE BIRTH to a DEAD Premature baby. She went into LABOR the LABOR was caused by the stress of DETOXING

  • @jerzeytpke that's exactly what I just said to YOU! for fuck sake, can't you read. SHE didn't kill her baby, her body did.

  • @anditspaganpoetry NO HER doing HEROIN KILLED her BABY!! That and the detox!

  • @anditspaganpoetry The doctor said the BABY WONT SURVIVE at that point in the pregnancy. She was 5 months along. She had labor and delivered a dead baby. I KNOW what Im talking about I DONT need health classes go onto part 8 of the movie

  • aw they were watching deal or no deal haha

  • This is extremely difficult to watch. I shall never do drugs. Ever.

  • if heroin at first makes your brain produce more pleasure homrones then it makes the brain make less and less, and need more and more heroin the basence of heroin and the incapability of the brain to manufacture those hormones is what makes your body explode in fever takes years for your body to fully recover, but they should legalize heroin the pure stuff is much less harmful you can make a normal life with high grade heroin u cant with low grade street smack

  • this is totally fake, when your sick you dont have any strenght, you legs fail you, you cant even speak, you shit yourself and your muscles hurt in ways you cant imagine they could hurt, you mind is going 1000 miles hour with allucinations it gets to a point when a 1 second feels like 1 hour because of so much pain, your legs arms contract with spasms and you sweat a foul smell there isnt anything more painful in the planet then heroin hangover, anything,

  • @ukusapillage I know addicts that have walked 3+ miles to score. They were as sick as you could be. It amazes me sometimes.

  • The SBS Newswoman at 2:59 !

  • this is so hard to watch..

  • damn thats always the worst part... when you all sick and you look outside at happy healthy ppl... and at least for me im like fuk

  • dont do drugs kiddies!!! this is the end result... 0.o

  • i take anti-depressants and if i forget to take them for only 2 days or so, i get dizzy, nauseous, it feels like you're about to vomit but you never do and you just wish you would to feel better. its incredibly uncomfortable

  • Does anybody think that Geoffrey Rush was very good alongside Heath Ledger (RIP) and Abbie Cornish? I do.

  • oh i remember that shit.... i can't imagine going thru it in the same bed as someone else cuz honestly i did not give a SHIT what sorts of smells were comin off me or the bed.

  • demasiado real, es increible

  • so shes prego...kinda painful and going through withdrawls. strong strong lady

  • why do they drink pills, weren't they trying to leave the drugs?

  • @L3SlLeYh Not sure. Probably Valium or 10mg methadone. They don't really say what it is.

  • do withdrawal symptoms come in stages? because at some points they are in a lot of pain but then they are cleaning their mattress, and they seem a little bit better..

  • When people go through withdrawls why do they act like that towards water touching their skin?

  • @bijiou36 its probably because their body wants the drug so bad and its going crazy without it, his skins is crawling and its responding negatively to touch and pressure

  • @bijiou36 Actually, hot showers and baths are soothing when going through withdrawals. In the shower scene, Dan was suffering mentally. If you don't have mental health problems and/or an addiction to a mind-altering substance, it is nearly impossible to explain how it feels to suffer withdrawals. For example, I could tell you that I am depressed or in severe pain, but unless you have suffered the same, the words cannot touch the feeling.

  • that was horrible to watch, i felt ill, a very well done to the filmakers and actors

  • why dont they just change the matress or is even that too much? this scene makes me feel ill its so well done

  • Getting off opiates is the hardest thing a person can suffer through!Trust me i;ve been there before. It can help you to lead a normal productive life though.Methadone helped me a lot too!If you're at this stage and you need help too then definitely ask your doctor about a methadone maintenance program. It'll be one of the best things you ever do for yourself! Most people suffer days of horrible withdrawl trying to quit just to give in and end up right back where they were in the first place!

  • @donny29dsm are wthdrawals as painful as menstrual cramps?

i wish guys felt the pain girls did

  • @Chan3lprincess16 I have no clue since i have a penis and not a vagina, but i do know that opiate withdrawls are the worst pain that i've ever been through.I was run over by a 32 ton garbage truck and it wasn't even as bad of pain as withdrawl was!!!

  • @Chan3lprincess16 I've had menstrual cramps for 20 yrs. WD is much more intense than the physical pain. Abdominal cramping, explosive diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, all-over down to the bone body aches, anxiety attacks, severe depression, increased agitation and/or aggression. Addiction is common in people with mental illness like clinical depression. Their brains are ineffective in creating endorphins, so they are often self medicating just to feel "normal." Words cannot describe the suffering.

  • @iamcasihart I know my replies late but I didnt see it..whats WD?:o

and yo had all that pain whoa

  • @Chan3lprincess16 r u even trying to compare a heroine withdrawals with a menstrual cramp girl what planet do u live on i bet u never take any drugs in your life

  • @MsJilsephonie What do you mean?;D

  • @donny29dsm I've been off of junk for 3 and a half years now, MMT saved my life. 135mg to 6mg in three and a half years. opiate withdrawl is the worst pain imaginable. Society needs to realize junkies are people too, God bless everyone who has ever struggled with addiction.

  • @BLastyboW Yeah,i see where you're coming from.I've been clean now for 4 1/2 years and i went down from 180mg to 40mg and i'm still weaning myself off.I'm not quite there yet,but i'm not giving up!Take care of yourself and keep up the good work my friend!

  • @donny29dsm this may be true, but methadone is deadly if not used carefully... i had a friend who passed away from a methadone overdose 2 months ago.... basically people should never start taking pills in the first place.... but what can u do when america is dependent on pharmaceutical companies and tries to get even five year olds on regulated medication! its just not right

  • @persepshun I'm sorry to hear that! The pharmaceutical companies just want peoples $!

  • @persepshun Dude, I tell all the kids coming to the clinic to turn around and go home. Get your mom to lock you in the basement for 10 days. Here in Canada its too easy to get into the MMT program. Pretty much test positive for opiates and you're in, however there is a long wait list. In order for methadone to work you have to want it to. Peace and Love Bro.

  • @donny29dsm Really there is people in the world who are assholes and have compation for this couple of assholes too! she is pregnant! i have been in to drugs too! so it is stupid for a person to say that is hard and that you need it! nobody need it just want it! because she was pregnant and that is something to change life! and he should be working and not making stupid things and acting ridiculous! i really believe before that i want it to have a relationship like this ...

  • @yuyiiaLee when they "love each other" very muuch! but that is sheet! staring the movie she was going to die only because he aloud her to try his way! my god she is pregnant! they are people in the world who's dieing to have a baby and they that wasted that wonderful opportunity, really i hate those people!

  • @donny29dsm The cramps are bearable, so is the diarrhea, the puking, the sweating from being hot and cold at the same time. The worst part is that restless urge that's almost a rush in itself. No, check that, the worst part of it is that ustretched feeling, and no matter how much you stretch out it doesn't go away. Methadone is just a trap. Most methadone clinics want you to stay on it for the rest of your life and won't let you detox. And methadone withdrawl lasts a month

  • @blockerjosh You want to explain it to someone who's never gone through it? Imagine the worst flu you have ever had in your life. Now multiply that by 100. Now, considering that, imagine the knowledge that it can all go away in 10 seconds time with one ten dollar bag and try not to go get that bag

  • @blockerjosh I agree that methodone is kind of a trap and that most clinics do want you to spend the rest of your life on methadone so they can get the $ you would've spent on drugs anyway, but it's up to the person that's on the methadone to ween themselves off.I started at 180mls. a few years ago and now i'm only on 38mls. so i think i'm doing good and i'm almost there!I hope you're doing well too and that goes for anyone else that's been through it who is also reading this!

  • @donny29dsm

    Nice try idiot.

i am guessing that you are a sad little fuck with issues, and since you felt you had to PM me to justify your beating off to YouTube videos (which is pathetic by the way), your fragile little ego got a dose of self-loathing. So you lash out at somebody smarter than you, accuse them of doing something that makes what you do look OK in comparison.

  • @donny29dsm

What great dumb-as-fuck deductionist logic you have, loser. It's not even worth my sullying myself addressing your main accusations. It is sort of awkward to watch a retard like you thrash around though. What a low-class piece of trash you must be.

  • @donny29dsm

im on methadone now but i still find it hard to come down iv been at 50mg for over a year now and have only come down 20mg since my original 70mg when i first got on methadone 2 yrs ago.. its been a long shitty process i guess its better than shooting dope of course :/ if i could just find a proper way to come off of it it would be good but i'm weak i guess... i just find it so hard to ween off of..

  • @xoxoangexoxo Just keep at it and you'll be fine!

  • Luv it wen Heath starts screaming. HOT

  • so sad.

  • Wow the withdrawels are bitch

  • 6:55 LOL the guy who plays that doctor is in Neighbours now ;)

  • OHH THANKGOD i never ever try heroine or cocaine or weeed. Must protect myslef :p

  • @yujirock1

Okay Weed is not very easy to get addicted to, I smoke weed once a week (Holland. =D ) but I can miss as much weeks if I like :P. and the other two.. well I've never tried cocaine, but heroine is indeed something you'd never try. if my boyfriend didn't find out I tried it once, I'd probably be really fucked up or dead by now too:P

  • @Liddaofzo Sorry i lied.. I tried weed but yeah you're right. Im not addicted to it.

  • I'm so glad I said no to drugs....

  • @annathefootdoc YEAYYY!!!!!!!

  • I've been through the WD's justr as hard as he portrays in this movie. Called an ambulance because I thought iwas going to cease in an anxiety attack. Didn't even get admitted to the hospital. No one even tried to help me in any way. I was never offered rehab or help because there isn't any unless you can afford it. No junky can afford it because they have spent every penny trying to avoid Withdrawals for so long. It's unbearable. There were times i wish I had the physical strength to suicide.

  • @bbbates14 And I'm a young, clean cut, healthy intelligent person. not a write off like you would typically think. I dated a model for a year who had no idea of my problems because Imade so much money it it left room to get by until the supply went dry and the sickness ensued.Lost my high paying job almost instantly because i was too sick to show up

  • One of the most accurate withdrawal from heroin scenes I have ever seen in a movie. When I watched it, I was just clean from my first cold-turkey detox that landed me in the hospital with kidney failure where they successfully detoxed me and saved my life. This scene made me sick to my stomach. Trainspotting or The Basketball Diaries are more overexaggerated. I would get in the shower and blast myself with hot water and run to bed for a couple minutes of the relief of the pain.

  • this movie is so good. but really fucked up.

  • That small cry just before the video cuts off hit me pretty hard.

  • such. quality. acting. holy. shit.

  • For anyone considering using heroin, suboxone, methadone, vicodin, oxys, morphine, dilaudid, or any other opiate...DON'T! I am fucked because of this addiction. I have lost self worth and hope for the most part. I watched my girlfriend withdraw from suboxone and it lasted 15 days of PURE HELL. It was as bad as H., All opiates are shit...unless ur in severe pain, please stay away. They don't lead you to anywhere but pain. I pray for all who suffer this horrible horrible disease. PEACE

  • i know nothing about the affects of heroin, so forgive me for asking a very stupid question...but can someone explain just WHY heath was screaming and punching himself so violently while in the shower? like..what was going on? i know they were both suffering from withdrawal but..what does that feel like?

  • @eluvb i think it's a bit exaggerated but its like your body betrays you by feeling clammy and just gross all over, like every cell wants to vomit but cant. i myself got so mad at my body after taking a sip of diet pepsi and instantly puking up foam that i had to lie in until my then g/f cleaned up while crying over my pathetic ass, well i got up and smashed my forehead against the wall, trying to KO myself. the worst ever

  • @eluvb If you haven't experienced withdrawals or mental illness, there really isn't a way to describe what it feels like. A mother can tell you what it "feels like" to give birth, but unless you experience that exact pain, you will never comprehend it. In that shower scene, Dan was suffering the mental and emotional withdrawals, along with the physical. The physical withdrawals will pass in about 5 days. The mental suffering could last indefinitely.

  • @iamcasihart so true

  • When candy says to the person on the phone "I can work a shift" does she mean go back to prostitution whilst pregnant?

  • they are spreading baby powder all over because of how much they are sweating. essentially, it helps keep them dry (which is especially important during cold sweats) and it probably helps with the sweat stench (which smelling sweat makes you more sick when you are already sick)

this movie is not melodramatic. there are varying degrees of addiction. a mild addiction is bad enough, but this movie is about severe addiction.

yes, this movie should have won an Oscar! i nee to read the book!

  • Well in the book, they stock up on assorted pills like valium, doloxene, serepax, and ibuprofen.

  • why are they putting baby powder all over the bed?

  • @Ellsiexoxo I think it's some sort of fabric cleaner, not baby powder. Afterall, you don't want to be sleeping on some smelly mattresses you just peed all over.

  • @BshRuinedMyPants true, true lol

  • @BshRuinedMyPants I think it may have been sweat.

  • @BshRuinedMyPants

When you kick, you sweat and STINK and so no doubt they were sweating onto the mattress so the mattress smelled.

  • @BshRuinedMyPants They didn't pee on the mattress, they sweat all over it. You sweat profusely during opiate withdrawal.

  • @JoshSitar Indeed. It is misery.

  • @BshRuinedMyPants i dont think it pee...

when our going through withdrawl you go

through hot and cold sweats so bad,

it turns white sheets yellow lol no lie

  • @BshRuinedMyPants its sweat not pee..

  • @BshRuinedMyPants i think it's talcum powder so it's more comfortable to lie in, instead of lying in a big sweaty bed...

  • @BshRuinedMyPants nah, its because they have sweated all over the bed from withdrawals, not from piss

  • @Ellsiexoxo because when you withdrawing from heroin you sweat a lot and suffer cold swaets, talc helps to relieve this and generally is nice on the skin

  • @Ellsiexoxo because when you withdrawl you sweat alot not pee your bed...

  • @Ellsiexoxo I know that you asked this question at least 6 months ago, but I do believe that it is talc powder or perhaps baby powder. When a junkie "kicks," there will be a great deal of excessive sweating...cold sweats and misery of the worst kind. Like one is crawling out of their skin. They kept changing sheets and using powder to make the mattress a bit more "fresh," as their sweat was soiling through everything.

  • @Ellsiexoxo its espy salt

  • @Ellsiexoxo Its not fabric cleaner.. it is baby powder and this is because when people are having withdrawals they have no control so therefore they wet the bed, they also experience cold sweats like you see here... but yes as for the baby powder it is used to absorb the urine.

  • @Ellsiexoxo It keeps it soft, and it soaks up sweat. Remember they can't really do laundry so it sort of helps with smell and whatnot.

  • @Ellsiexoxo It's talcum powder, to stop them sweating as much.

  • @Ellsiexoxo Have you ever used powder after a shower to stay "fresh" and dry when you know that it will be a hot, sweaty day? That is the reason for the powder. They did not pee on the mattress, (the other response is incorrect). When a person is detoxing from opiates, they will have a plethora of miserable symptoms including increased and sometimes excessive sweating. Cold sweats, actually. Shivering cold but sweating like crazy. Similar to a horrible flu but about 20 times worse.

  • @Ellsiexoxo Baby powder helps to soak up the sweats so you're not lying on drenched sheets.

  • for the same reason we do...duh...to deodorize!!!Lol but don't take it personal this movie depending on how u think...is meant to motivate not to discourage...

  • @Ellsiexoxo because they have sweated all over the bed from withdrawing

  • @Ellsiexoxo too absorb the sweat

  • Opiates cause the body to stop producing it's natural painkillers, since you're replacing them with artificial ones. This means that, when you stop, you have no pain relief in your body whatsoever. You can feel the impact of every air molecule on your skin. Your skin crackles with pain. You become hyperactive, pacing, trembling, going buggz. It's awful. But, if you can stand it, it does come to an end.

  • love the goon

  • with all these doctors around, does no one notice how bad they are? no one thinks to take them to rehab? sad. :(

  • what were the pills they were taking?

  • 2:46 yummy in my tummy lol

  • Love this film! Both suck amazing actors-

  • this is not how withdraws are like at all! this is sooo melodramatic!

  • Comment removed

  • are they tryin to stop taking drugs?

  • lol the only thing more painfull is your pathetic life!!!!

  • its not the pain not the turkey-

its the time after it what´s hard.

to stop it and remain clean is the real chalenge

  • and why wasn't this movie nominated for an oscar?

  • @kbhorsegirl if it wasn't it should've been

  • @kbhorsegirl because it wasn't made in hollywood and it isn't pretentious

  • he was such a great actor

  • Heath is so hot in this movie!! =X

the scene of them struggling is so sad...

  • I don't understand wth is goin on. They're going through withdrawal, er, what?

  • Yeah. Smack withdrawal is the worst pain I ever felt in my life. This is pretty damn accurate.

  • Heath didnt committ suicide, he took a combination of prescription sleeping pills as he was getting basically no sleep what so ever as he was constantly critisizing himself for his performances and characters and was over analyzing himself way too much, its very sad because his passion for acting and performing is essentially what killed him, but we can take comfort in the fact that he left us with the best performance of his career

  • gonzo shut up

    u didnt know him

dont talk about why he took pills

  • Yeah, that is the very reason he was taking prescription pills

  • it was an accidental death..he ingested a fatal mixture of prescription drugs that he had no idea would kill him.

  • i heard different things

but thanks for the information though.

  • just letting you know :)

that's what the official police report stated.

  • That... is so sad. And this does happen in real life, which makes it even more depressing.

  • I can't imagine the baby being healthy!

  • Oh never mind she lost it! :(

  • That has to be one of the most brutal sequences in cinema history. I'm almost hesitant to watch the rest of the movie...

  • its not that.. it not out of desperation.. its withdraws i watched a show about heroine addicts.. its the sad truth, seems painful thats why people shouldnt do that stuff.

  • they're so desperate for drugs, it makes me sad

  • Heaths a sexy man XD

  • Thats why kids don't do drugs

  • @Zim804 hahaha good advice very good one hahaha

  • @Zim804 No, just don't be a dick head and get addicted.
