There's an English translation patch available for SNES emulation. For those with the original Japanese ROM, this can be translated with a tool called the IPS Patcher. There is unfortunately no US port for this game in physical format. There has been a remake of this game for the Nintendo DS. It includes more storyline and combat as well as some other additional features exclusive to this remake.
i am IN LOVE with this game.. i want it to have my babies
also did anyone find the last boss to be a major pushover? i think its the first last boss i have ever fought in any game where he dident even ATTEMPT to hit me.. ultimate killing machine my ass
This is one of the best games Squaresoft has ever made. Addicting gameplay, superb story and amazing soundtrack. The sequels are complete crap compared to the original
I guess you haven't gotten Front Mission 5 for the PS2. That game easily surpasses even the first game in terms of gameplay, presentation, etc. The only downside is that it's not available for US localization. But there's a fan translation patch on the way being done by a group of FM fans such as LegaiaRules(the lead guy in the fan translation). It won't hurt to import that game now if you want.
One thing that doesn't make any sense to me is why they have the tittle and other things on the game in English well the rest is Japanesse. I mean if the Japanesse buyer can read english can't they just make them fully english from the start? It seems retarded to me.
Everybody, please buy Front Mission 1st for the Nintendo DS to support Front Mission's success outside of Japan and the possibility of Front Mission 5's localization!
Yeah it is. Square just relreleased this on Nintendo DS. If they don't bring it out in English, hell will freeze over with pissed off pre-FF7 era Square fans.
This game is available completely in English also :). Driscoll does have that royal look to him so I know what you're talking about...but I think he looks a little more snobby than Edgar (less laidback). Sakata, on the other hand, I presumed was a woman throughout most of the game. The song that plays when karen dies is so amazingly sad. Sorry about the rant, but I loved this game also.
Just some katakana. 'Sides, gameplay wise, those who may not understand conversational Japanese may not get the story, but gameplay wise, Front Mission is one import game I know of that's English friendly.
This Game Kick ass since begin !

様々な立場の人間模様もあって
安易にハッピーエンドにしないところまで完璧

I thought the DS remake was awesome, coolest game ever. But I got front mission 4 recently, and I feel like a frickin idiot.
The U.C.S. storylines are so much cooler. More challenging in the DS-Famicom one.

I also forgot to mention Natalie, who looks like Celes, but if you were to dye her hair green, then it'd be Terra.
